      @fistsofrage:

      I don't think haki is common at all and since wb "pirate fodder" never actually injured Crocodile I doubt they have it. Amazon Lily is a special case. Sure, the further you go into the New World the more likely you are to find haki users, but even then they aren't very many.

      You do not know whether or not the WB fodder actually injuried Croc. But even if they didn't, it doesn't matter. What matters is that they were able to push him (and Daz Bones) back without water and apparently without seastone. It's pretty obvious even fodder members on Whitebeard's ship could use Haki.

      pretty good episode for what it was, though seeing Pwngoat chewing on random Navy underling #236's coat and Bepo's scenes were a highlight for me

      Not so random, actually. His name is Brandnew, he's appeared before when Luffy got his first bounty iirc.

      **Haki is almost certainly going to be a fairly common thing in the NW. Perhaps not at the start, but we will eventually get to the point where being able to use Haki and being even slightly strong go hand in hand.

      Remember, Whitebeard Pirate fodder were holding both Crocodile and Daz Bones back. That's a clear a sign as any that Haki is definitely not some particularly super rare in the NW, and very likely something extremely common on Whitebeard's ship.**

      @KiShiDo:

      I hate this whole haki is hard to learn and so rare bla bla… Aisa had it, Enel had it, All of the fodder girls of AL had it, 4 WB, Vista, Marco, Ace and probably Ace have it.

      But yeah Sanji, monster trio guy, has no chance to have it.

      **Enel and Aisa were iirc born with it, and the other guys you mentioned are really strong folk who have been fighting since before Sanji was born. I agree with you overall, but you didn't use the best examples.

      Anyway, I don't expect Sanji to be able to use both of the main colors effectively since he didn't have a proper teacher. However, there's no reason that in 2 entire years he couldn't have become really good at using basic CoA and perhaps a tiny bit of CoO.**

      It's not too strange, really. Luffy's tiny little hand hitting a beast THAT big just isn't going to do much even with a massive force behind it. Besides, he only aimed for the tooth from what I can tell so it makes sense that it was only the tooth that broke >_>

      **It's not even just the creativity, it's just actually seeing the movements. Kinda hard to explain. I always prefer pure physical fights to things like Usopp's or Nam's fights. Not that I mind how Usopp/Nami etc fight etc as that is still very entertaining, but sheer physical fights are just so much cooler. Actually seeing the complete movements Luffy makes, and the same goes for Zoro/Sanji, is just cool. Instead of all this "I can't even see the attack" stuff. Not that I mind them, but there's such a thing as too much. Hopefully there will be a more of a balance in the future.

      @Coruscation:

      That's a good point, too. I always felt like it was too much of "zip (Soru), BAM (Jet Pistol/Bazooka/etc), zip, BAM, zip, BAM when Luffy fought in G2 pre-timeskip, not as much room for creativity and adaptiveness. I loved it when he had to come up with things on the spot to be able to land hits on Crocodile when his normal Pistol wasn't cutting it anymore, like yanking his arm (Shotgun?) mid-stretch and stuff like that.

      Can't wait for Luffy's first really big fight to see if these predictions come true or not.

      **Another thing I really missed is how Luffy used to do these weird movement. Like how against Wiper he dodged by leaning back but he ended up leaning back too far and had to do a one arm handstand followed by a punch. This chapter gave me some hope.

      Almost as much hope as Franky's nipple lights.**

      @Coruscation:

      I've said it before, but Zoro's scene was definitely more badass/unexpected/impressive but Luffy's was cooler/more entertaining to read. It's so nice to see techniques like GG no Hammer again, I hope Luffy will use more of the not so "direct" attacks in the future. Hopefully he's got some brand new stuff, too, maybe more wind-themed attacks? GG no Cyclone or Hurricane sounds badass. Maybe something like Rifle where he twists his arms, but with one or two legs instead? Or some attacks involving his hands and feet working together.

      Completely agreed. I sometimes think that perhaps Luffy's fighting style becoming kinda stale was an intentional move by Oda, to showcase the huge boos the gears gave him and how they made it kinda unnecessary for him to develop new and creative moves. But with G2 possibility not giving as much of a boost as before and his opponents also having their own special moves it seems he'll have to go back to his previous, more creative fighting style.

      I mean loosy goosy baby!!

      **1.) Zoro is slightly cooler than Luffy.

      2.) You are underestimating the handicap of being underwater. Impaired movement, no air to breath, can't use three sword (not that ti mattered here lol.)

      3.) Fuck yeah Zoro.

      Also, anyone notice the sparks this chapter? It looks like Oda might use the sparks to let us know that Luffy s using CoA, just a guess. I don't think that sparks = CoA, but that they = a particularly strong and most of Luffy's strongest attacks probably utilize CoA.**

      I don't think Oda will ever have Luffy defeat an opponent using outside assistance. He chose to have Luffy defeat Crocodile with his own blood instead of having Luffy using water, for example. In the end it has to all be Luffy's strength. So I do not think he'll have Luffy defeat Hodi underwater using a bubble, as that would mean Luffy had to use outside assistance to defeat Hodi.

      @The:

      The only problem is that for 400 chapters every single threat the protagonists have faced has been completely irrelevant when faced with the Ryozanpaku masters. Wheres the tension to a fight when we know that theres a guy a million times stronger than the hero on the sidelines, ready to step in and take over if it ever gets too rough? And with basically the strongest man in the world being part of their team, theres no enemy enemy whatsoever they couldn't just sick the Elder on for Instant Win.

      It's like if Shanks followed Luffy throughout the adventure, in case he needed to step in and save his poor widdle fanboy.

      I don't feel that is generally too much of an issue, since the masters have basically sworn not to interfere in disciple fights and those are the really important fights. Still, I do get what you mean and I feel that this manga can use some improvement in that department. Overall though while the system has it's flaws, it's still something I generally like much more than some 15 year old becoming stronger than people who have been at the game for decades.

Would seem kinda stupid not to, seeing as how it's essential for the higher tiers and is easily the next big step in terms of strength. Also yes Mihawk has Haki, pretending otherwise is just ignoring everything in the manga so far. As for Sanji it's not unbelievable that he could have picked up on CoA and perhaps a little CoO. If any of the Okamas could use it, he could learn from observation. The whole "but he didn't have a teacher" thing doesn't fly either, as he wouldn't have to learn CoO and would have taken twice the time it took Luffy anyway.

      And about Zoro losing oxygen, I'd imagine it'd have to be a pretty long fight for that to start to happen. So I can't see it happening during the fight, but like someone said it happening after the fight seems possible.**

      There is absolutely no evidence pointing to Zoro and Sanji knowing haki right now. Bringing your one piece daydreams to one piece discussion is nice but also pointless. If Sanji and Zoro have haki when Luffy had to go through so much trouble to obtain it I would be sorely disappointed mostly because Oda hasn't mentioned anything about them learning it but he made such a big deal out of Luffy mastering the basics.

      **Absence of evidence =/= evidence of absence. And yes actually there is evidence. For Zoro, the whole 'breath of all things' just screams CoO. For Sanji, some CoA usage may have been hinted at with Diable Jamble, I mean just compare Sandersonia's use of Haki to protect her from her own flames to DJ.

      Fact of the matter is they are going to have to learn Haki eventually, and since they are both supposed to be pretty close to Luffy strength-wise it only makes sense for them to be able to use it now. I know we shouldn't bring focus too much on real life here, but if someone in our world can do it for 20 minutes Zoro should have no problem holding his breath for at least as long. It all depends on Oda though.**

      @Sonic:

      Oda a makes good job giving Hordy some evil looks in this chapter!

      And he seems pretty strong, I have no clue how Zoro's and his fight will play out… He will probably get some help from the ministers.

      And I don't think the princess is going to be much help explaining the situation, she'll probably just cry making it even worse!

      **The ministers are pretty much confirmed fodder. They were in awe at the strength Usopp, Nami and Brook showed.

      Hodi fighting Zoro underwater just confirms what many of us thought, that Hodi is weak compared to the monster trio and that he will need things like the pills or an underwater advantage to face them.**

    • RE: History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi

      @onemoment:

      I don't buy how every master in this series overshadows the disciples. Yes, it should make sense for a master to be stronger, but this here was like a 10 vs 1 fight that included the likes of Miu, Seigfried and….that little girl whatsherface. Sakaki can beat this politician with acorns, yet these guys together can't beat him?

      It feels more like the master class is constantly being protected, rather then the intended effect of the masters being awesome. I really wish these jobber masters would just stop appearing.

      Not that this chapter wasn't neat though. The action was great, I just wish the disciples could get a chance to be awesome on their own.

      I don't know, I actually like the fact that they are still complete trash to masters. too many series have their characters reaching the top at unrealistic ages so this is a breath of fresh air.
