I would try to get as far away from Zombies as possible. Utilize my knowledge about edible plants (it's meagre, but it's still above average). I would also try to secure safe heaven, preferably small hydroelectric power plant and if possible person or people who know how to work it. And also try to secure most data possible (future humanity would need it). And than try to invent most efficient weapons to kill zombies (alternatively, if situation wouldn't be to dire, try to communicate with zombies, but that would require inventing ways to keep humans safe during experiments).

Nice chapter.
I especially liked Robin's deception. Sugar is also fine. -
RE: Random News Article Discussion
Yeah, the dark side of democracy, "the mayority won, the minority doesn't matter" even when said minority is 49,8%
that is democracy malfunction. In democracy (in theory) majority isn't supposed to unjustly oppress minorities.

I'm happy our guy won, but I'm kinda disappointed this guy didn't get his gold
!
yellow spandex + flies = conclusion: he must be an X-man
he really deserves it.
I really admire him.
I liked how after his jump all the Japanese people present spontaneously reacted with unbound enthusiasm.

RE: Confession Session - LOCK THIS THREAD
[hide]I've been crying for the past half an hour…
I didn't go today and I got a text from the mosseur and something she said just set me off - 'I know it's hard seeing him like that'
My father suffers from ms and over my years alive I've seen it grasp him harder and harder.
It's hard seeing it grasping him but harder because I don't want to lose him... it's so painful... >~ < I should be grateful since most people I know don't have fathers, be it due to death or separation... but it's just so painful Q ~ Q [/hide]! No need to beat yourself down over the fact, that other people have it worse than you. It's understandable how hard and painful this situation is to you. It's okay to express suffering you're going through.

RE: Post Your Pics: Part Quattuor
I always just assumed it was a dress/skirt thing. I sit Indian style. Doesn't matter how small my chair is. It's comfortable. There has to be another term for that. Pretzel style?
In my country it's called "Turkish style". That is probably not acceptable too.
with aid of Google and Wikipedia I've been able to find "criss-cross" and tailor styleInteresting how the topic from shirtless guy clearing off the snow went to gender norms and racially improper idiomatic phrases.

Ironically, yeah, because I am the very embodiment of not-a-tough-guy to all who know me.
That's not a bad thing.

Kasai Noriaki (ski jumping) is so cute. Me and my Mom have been rooting for him to tie with Stoch for gold. I wonder if we will see him in next Olympics.

Wait so about historical mouten I still don't get whats so bad that happends to him this period, according to the wiki
! He is forced to committed suicide in prison and his family is killed, because of the plotting of the king's advisor Zhao Gao. But thats after the great wall and the first emperor dies. Also Zhoa Goa isn't the same guy as Lu Buwei right?
that had happened about 20 years into future from current storyline and only after Sei's death. MouTen's fate probably won't be mentioned in the manga.

RE: Kill La Kill
Has anyone been speculating? I don't think there was anything before this episode that pointed to Ryuko and Satsuki being siblings, but I don't follow this series trying to connect the dots.
well it was quite obvious course of action. I've never made any conscious effort to predict what is going to happen next, but possibility of Ruyoko and Satsuki being sisters occurred relatively early to me. When whole deal with "dead" had been mentioned I was "so the are sisters after all" and than everything in the episode also pointed to that. I was just sure they would toy with viewers bit longer and only admit the family connection in next episode.
-
RE: Kill La Kill
I love the reveal at the end of the episode myself, the pace of the series is so fast it doesn't even give us time to speculate.
"Oh look at that baby, I wonder if there's any connec- Never mind."
you're saying this like we hadn't plenty of time to speculate on eventuality of Ryuko and Satsuki being sisters before
-
RE: Kill La Kill
Ragyo is a creepy molester.
Ryuko and Satsuki are sisters, no surprise there. Maybe it was quite quick to reveal after throwing all the hints in this episode. -

Yo does anyone know some really good ways to get rid of bags under their eyes (or at least to cover them up)?
I'm probably gonna need to do some interviews in the future, and the fact that I look like a zombie probably isn't going to help with my employment opportunities.
Tea. Place tea bags (after brewing, but not when they are still hot) on your eyes and lay for some time. It can also be camomile. It will allow your eyes to relax.

RE: DarkFalcon draws chibis
I spoiled your thread xD
I just give up about it over and over again.
Started drawing in September approximately.
There was one version I liked the most and it was already half coloured when something got on the paper, so I took long break after that xD Then tried again and it felt like better but muse wasn't there to finish it I guess.don't mention it.
The most important thing is to enjoy drawing. Some people just enjoy with lot of screaming at the paper, but they still enjoy. If you don't enjoy deep down, than what's the point? Seems like you too have regularity problem. I've lost at sheets of paper with started drawing and had likewise have some barely started pictures on my disc.I'm not able to write you visitors messages. I'm not sure why is that, but I can't respond to you that way.

RE: DarkFalcon draws chibis
No it's not about perfection, I tried a lot and I liked everything I drew except face, it wouldn't be the expression Marco would have, I drew it thousand times, but never the way it should have been. I didn't care about perfection from the start and especially wouldn't care after seeing Oda drawing and giving advices and how the most important thing is emotions and expressions.
This doesn't suit Vista's situation though and I should finish it.
And I should redraw Jozu
You are contradicting yourself. You want to draw emotions perfectly as you think they should be. There is this one aspect you absolutely want to keep perfect and you get frustrated, when you are unable to perform as well as you'd want. Drawing individual emotions and expressions is really hard and you shouldn't beat yourself up over it.
-
RE: DarkFalcon draws chibis
I know that, but when it's about your favourite characters you want to make look like they really are (at least expressions) it becomes kinda different.
No it's not. You are afraid of your imperfection more, because you care more and thus you inhibit yourself more. But that is not the whole story. If you are afraid and that stops you from drawing, that means your fear is stronger than your love. To be afraid of drawing beloved characters is like to be afraid of being together with people you love. You're scared of your your own imperfection, you are scared that picture you get won't be as good as you wish. You are scared of possible screw up. Guess what, like in relationships, the are always going to be screw-ups and imperfections. But if you are really loving strongly, you will always work over those to make the better picture next time. You don't need to shy away from those you like and draw them. If you love them, you don't owe them perfect picture, you owe them your tries, your frustration and overcoming, your joys. Do your best, perfection isn't your best. Perfection is no ones' best.
Don't give up so easily. You love them right? -
RE: DarkFalcon draws chibis
I don't. I also wish to enjoy it, but since I like them too much, I'm always dissatisfied in whatever I draw.
You concentrate too much on the effect instead on experience. Since no artist ever was ultimately satisfied with what they had drawn you'll never be able to enjoy it no matter how good you'll become if you don't change your attitude. And you only prevent yourself from getting better.

RE: Post how your day was…
I got depressed what kind of social ideas people on Polish One Piece forum (where I post sometimes) have. I'd participate in their discussion but a) there was too many things to refute, b) too depressed.
Darth would probably get along with them fine. -

I love you for drawing these :happy:aw, thank you. I'm glad you like these. I really enjoy drawing Whitebeard Pirates.

RE: DarkFalcon draws chibis
I plan to do all the chibis you guys want some day… perhaps... maybe. I'm just awfully irregular artist.
I've actually drawn something yesterday. Yeah, first thing after months. I have exams (best possible timing) and I've suddenly felt an urge to draw, so I've spend whole night scribbling and colouring. Yey, me!
Not a chibi, but I've just stop caring about premise of this thread.!

RE: Post how your day was…
Shit. I'm actually drawing. I have't been actually doing it for months.

RE: Random News Article Discussion
I dunno, I think you can be a computer scientist or a mathematician without believing in the theory of evolution. In fact, I do happen to know a few top computer scientists who are ardent Christians. I don't know their stand on evolution, though.
[Insert joke about how CS and Math are not sciences here.]
in maths or computer sciences creation as in Gods creation doesn't come to play, so creationist or evolutionist paradigm is irrelevant to effects.
[Insert laughing about the joke about how CS and Math are not sciences here.]
Being Christian doesn't mean one is Creationist in strict sense of the term. -
RE: XXII Olympic Winter Games
Painting grass green is a memetic joke about communism. I'm laughing so hard about it actually happening.
-
RE: Random News Article Discussion
Purple Hermit is basically right. Unless you are working at something very specific, like lets say durability of certain materials or something (where questions of origin and change don't come into play), you NEED to work inside evolutionist paradigm. Sure you can be a researcher and contribute to humanity's knowledge by conducting researches, but that does not make you a scientist. And evolutionary paradigm is now a days part of every branch of science, even social or human disciplines.

RE: Post how your day was…
@Print:
I thought the two languages were vaguely similar, given they're both West Slavic? Obviously not mutually intelligible, but perhaps guessable? Although you don't use the same accents.
well I could probably guess some of Czech, but I've never learned any and I've never had chances to get accustomed to it. I'd rather take my chances with Russian, Belorussian or Ukrainian than Czech since I've had more exposition to those.
-
RE: Post how your day was…
@No:
A bit, my dad can do it very well though, he did work there after all.
You ha advantage over me since I don't speak slightest bit of Czech.

RE: Post how your day was…
@No:
I was gonna make a joke where I was gonna be stereotypical british briton britishly being aghast at the uncouth unbritishness of someone from the penal colonies telling "us" what to do, but I don't think I can make that sufficiently funny.
On another note, helping translate hotel descriptions into Polish is really annoying, especially if the person ordering it can't speak Polish and half the things she points out as "feeling" wrong aren't -_-
Wait. You speak Polish?
