I know this sounds stupid but if Adult Swim gets EGGHEAD for Toonami...
EIGHT PIECE IS REAL!!!!

Should Old Acquaintance be forgot, and never brought to mind.

Finally Toonami's wrapped up C Block. Man was Don Chinjao's voice bland.
Apparently if you combined the ratings for the Attack on Titan finale from all its timeslots, it's one of the worst ratings the block has ever gotten.
To be honest I only cared if the show could give One Piece a boost but if it didnt and One Piece did well without it I can only say Bon Voyage Attack on Titan!
I guess that since no one is talking about a dub of the recent episode, there was no Simuldub. Oh well. I knew it wasnt going to happen but this was the closest we've ever gotten.
I love the opening the more I see it.

2024, the year of the dragon, is set to feature more of Monkey D. Dragon than the previous two zodiac cycles combined.
Title: "A New Chapter! Luffy and Sabo's Paths!"
Chapters Covered: rest of 1060
Episode Director: Nozomu Shishido (new)
Animation Director: Shuichi Ito + Midori Matsuda + Ziwei He + Masami Mori
Watch It: www.crunchyroll.com/one-pieceTonight should also feature the debuts of opening 26, "US!", and ending 20, "Sunrise Dreamer". They're sung by Hiroshi Kitadani and Maki Otsuki respectively, reuniting the artists behind the classic OP and EDs of East Blue for the first time in almost 25 years.
WOW... the amount of Directors... this show this is just the beggining for Egghead. When we are back to only one director we are in FOR A TREAT!
I read on reddit episodes with too many directors are actually less good than one with only one. But if this is the quality its STILL TOP NOTCH.

Sorry for the double post but this is very good news

Tons of fight previews, tons of loving homages to what came before, tons of fun Easter eggs, colors, style, and the song itself let Kitadani flex his JAM Project heritage a bit while the power chorus and backup chorus tied it all together. It blows away the other anniversary openings. It's not even a contest. The ending was less crazy and wastes no time reminding you that it's the same singer behind "Memories" but it's a nice enough closer.
The "info corner" ending skit was kinda cute but of course useless for super-fans like us. I imagine it won't be used after every episode but the Egghead arc is pretty dense with callbacks.
Kitadani used to be part of JAM Project?? I honestly didn't know that. But when I heard the new opening for the first time, I immediately got vibes of the JAM Project opening for Transformers Animated:
As for the info corner ending skit...does anyone think this could maybe one day service as an avenue to shoehorn in some cover story info that the anime has yet to receive?
tens minutes later
looks up JAM Project on Wikipedia
...WTF!?!? Hironobu Kageyama is part of JAM Project???!!?!?!
Do I need to listen to more of their work?????
Just who did you thought was part of JAM Project? Almost no one?
WOW THAT WAS MEGA FAST. I am liking the song and hope I love it once I hear it full many times.
I KNEW I was going to be wrong! This is the simulcast we all wanted! Because if it isnt there isnt much point.
This new ending had a lot of stock footage but I loved the animation that was unique to it along with the song. Also I hated the opening on first watch but as my mind catches on to what is happening in it I like it more and more.
I dont wanna seem rude to the animators but THAT opening is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY over the top. The animation FINALLY got to the point where its too much of a good thing for me. It's too fluid, too fast and wacky. I know people will say I am missing the point of One Piece by saying its "Too Wacky" but Gear 5 was perfect. More than that its just visual noise. Luckily since its IMPOSSIBLE to keep up this animation level for an entire episode the actual episodes will just be Wano level like the usual and not visual noise like this.
Wow did I say this before I got deja vu.
And now I see why Raise was so great and well animated, for Toei THAT was limited animation. Now I get it.
I love crazy and bouncy animation but this is too much of a good thing.
Listen to this comment by a veteran Disney Animator.
“I just finished watching Disney’s latest animated feature, “Wish.”
I agree with most reviews and opinions, ‘Wish’ was made by committee with the usual shopping list of content; bland sidekicks, dumb throw-away jokes, characters look and act like typical Disney characters, especially the heroin, and the fx animation, (technically well-done,) visual pizazz to mask the lack of substance. But this can be said for the last four or five Disney features.
What really struck me about ‘Wish’ is the animation- everything is overacted, every tiny nuance has its own gesture or pose, making the characters move almost constantly. The overdone lip-synch, every consonant painstakingly enunciated, as if the characters speak to the hearing impaired.
It seems the technology of CG animation has given the animators such control that everything must move, all the time. The beauty of animation sometimes lies in the lack of movement, (watch the original, [sadly in this day and age of countless sequels, this must be clarified] ‘101 Dalmations.’ The characters move when they need to, and the subtler gestures work within a held pose.)
But in ‘Wish’ the movement is almost constant; cliché-ridden, distracting hand gestures, non-stop head tilts, shoulders moving up and down. It’s as if the technology is driving the art instead of the other way around.
EDIT: On second thought, now that I watched twice, the animation seems to have slowed down in my mind and now it looks awesome. Maybe its because I felt it was too fast for the eye to see that it translated to visual noice in my mind.
Toei put SO MUCH effort on Raise that despite already knowing we'd have a new ending already I am astounded. Normally endings by Toei tend to be low budget and low effort. Literally. Some endings by Toei are NOTHING but still shots. And it was only around for so very few episodes.
I know no one cares about a literal year has come and gone and WE HAVE A NEW PRECURE SERIES! WONDERFUL PRECURE!!!
@Trueblade74 said in One Piece is back on Toonami again:
How many episodes of Dr. Stone got showed on Christmas Eve? I heard it was somehow only 6 despite Demon Slayer getting the full 7 on New Year's Eve.
I was about to say that it doesnt really matter, all we care is that one piece airs... but then I remembered that EIGHT PIECE IS REAL! 8 PREMIERES IN ONE NIGHT! DO EET TOONAMI.
The acting on the Latin American dub IS AMAZING. I cant believe its so good, the Sabaody Final Battle was so heartwrenching in Latin American Spanish I cant believe I actually got sad despite long knowing everyone is fine.
I am especially impressed by Luffy's 2nd voice actress. It turned out the first one got fired unfairly but god is the second one just as good. I am glad. And its amazing considering the dub doesnt actually have an experienced director at the helm right now. Just a sound director.
It sure is!
BTW Latin America got to Shabondy today. Dubbed and all!
The Most Popular Anime Series According to Netflix's Data Drop
One Piece as a franchise is just as much of a juggernaut as you would expect, with a whopping 238,600,000 total hours viewed across the entire franchise and an average of 5,680,952 hours viewed across the entire franchise. (I tried to make a chart for this, but there is no way it would work for such a massive franchise!)
Despite how much I feel I wont ever watch this remake I feel sick to my stomach about this. I really wish this just meant cool sakuga for the Otaku and not just Wit and Toei not giving a single damn about human dignity.

Oh god. The thought scares me. Iñaky and Sanji's actor reprised their roles in the Latin American dub of the Live Action Remake and though they eventually got the hang of it, they REALLY shouldnt do the anime remake.
Dont worry, it will come back it always does. EIGHT PIECE IS REAL AFTER ALL... and thank god you posted! Now I dont need to double post to do this. RATINGS TIME!
12/9/23:

Naruto: Shippuden: 128,000(0.06 P18-49)
While low this was a REALLY BAD week for the entirety of Adult Swim. Even Killer App show Rick and Morty hit a SERIES LOW.

One Piece: 188,000(0.09 P18-49)
Naruto: Shippuden: 165,000(0.08 P18-49)
Great night and Naruto Shippuden shows why it will always be AT THE BOTTOM.
Listen guys I have something I wanna ask. I saw an article saying the One Piece anime will go on hiatus for a month? Is this true or Mandela Effect in Action? I cant find the article no matter how hard I try.
I will never forgive that Clare Danes movie that showed Thailand as a hellhole to horrify white western audiences.
Can someone tell me how much prep time each announcement has? I doubt that any episodes would come out since they havent been announced already so I dont think they will come before January. But I dont know much about Crunchyroll's releases.
I love Jinbe so much lol.
@Sano said in 1086: "The New Emperor of the Sea! Buggy the Star Jester!":
@Captain-Krupp It probably won't happen until January, when Egghead starts up in the anime.
That's soon enough for me but it does need to happen.
I really hope they replace the Wano Opening in the Next Episode Previews ASAP.
11/25/23:
Demon Slayer: 220,000(0.11 P18-49)

One Piece: 146,000(0.07 P18-49)
One Piece: 144,000(0.07 P18-49)
Naruto: Shippuden: 142,000(0.06 P18-49)
EIGHT PIECE IS REAL!!!! And the ratings for this week are great. One Piece is doing better in both demographics and very well in the one that matters most.
11/18/23:
Demon Slayer: 179,000(0.08 P18-49)
Dr. Stone: 143,000(0.08 P18-49)

One Piece: 113,000(0.05 P18-49)
Naruto: Shippuden: 117,000(0.05 P18-49)
We should do a "One Piece on streaming" thread so we can tell members where they can find episodes and movies on streaming.
And keep this one open because its still needed for all general netflix news.
I really hope Latin America will get them too!
11/11/23:
Demon Slayer: 239,000(0.10 P18-49)
Demon Slayer: 194,000(0.08 P18-49)
Dr. Stone: 154,000(0.07 P18-49)
One Piece: 145,000(0.06 P18-49)
Naruto: Shippuden: 133,000(0.05 P18-49)
I will just double post with Ratings if I have posted last. I will try to avoid it if possible though.
I doubt they store THE ENTIRETY of the One Piece episodes available on Crunchyroll on a gosh darn laptop.
@MugiMikey said in Funimation DVD Discussion IV (Please Check First Post for FAQ):
@Trueblade74 There's no way to actually confirm this so take it with a grain of salt, but I heard from my friend who's a voice actor, who actually has done work for Funimation and has many other connections with voice actors in the industry, that Funimation chose to stop dubbing it due to it not being profitable enough. At least that's what I was told. Funimation decided on this in early 2019, with it being in internal limbo for about a year. They were also planning an announcement about its cancellation, apparently. I was told this was insider info and to keep their identity anonymous, but they would have no reason to lie to me.
Obviously that aforementioned dub cancellation announcement was never made and later on that year Funimation said the dub would continue. It was weird though, with production ceasing in 2018 followed by radio silence for a long while and then out of nowhere an announcement about it coming back was made, as if it actually was originally cancelled.
Personally I still believe One Piece was cancelled internally at Funimation like my friend told me, but luckily Toei was interested in a global push to bring most major markets current, especially to coincide with Wano being the new big arc. If you look at the international releases, many One Piece dubs not only started popping up all over the place at about this time, but lots of them also managed to get the very same speed up treatment even we had been hoping for. With Toei also funding the English dub from where Funimation originally left off, especially now with an emphasis on streaming and physical media being secondary, the dub was able to continue again and this time more material was dubbed faster than ever before.
I love this post. Even if the cancellation part is not true (I think it is.) it is very informed and well thought out.
@Blake-Bakes-Cakes said in Funimation DVD Discussion IV (Please Check First Post for FAQ):
I'm pretty sure South Korea has a simuldub.
And thank god they did. Because if they didnt and kept censoring and omitting anythign related to Japan they would have never been able to air Wano.
https://toyworldmag.co.uk/issues/toy-world-november-2023/
There is demand acording to this Toy Magazine that love for anime and manga is growing in the UK. The info in in pages 28-29
In its first five weeks, Sex Education nabbed 312 million hours of playtime. During that same time frame, One Piece earned 430 million hours, and this bump happened despite the show's shorter run time. Of course, One Piece is not a stranger to breaking records.hace 4 días
LOL QueenTangerine! I thought the same joke, but I included the word Education. So One Piece is way more popular than Sex Education...I hope this wont result in unwanted pregnancies or STD's... LOL.
One Piece passed Sex Education in the Top Most Seen!
Oh boy. I bet they are all in for a surprise.
He's a VERY good voice actor! Robert Pattinson!
EIGHT PIECE IS REAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL!!!!
I know people are disappointed about no Simuldub but I think this is for the best. Then they can avoid any translation mistakes made by dubbing eps in a hurry.
But what if people FORCE you to say something? What if they pry too much? What if they are condemned for not saying anything? Its not as simple as "Oh they shouldnt lie!"
@access-timeco said in 1081: ''The World Burns! The Navy Admiral's Assault!'':
I didn't mention it before, but I love how young Aramaki's voice sounds and how it changed the way I perceive the character.
When his voice actor was announced, I had just finished watching Thunderbolt Fantasy, so was expecting him to sound just like Shang Bu Huan. Caught me totally off-guard.
I dont know if you know but he did speak before but Keiji Fujiwara, his Japanese voice actor, died and he had to be replaced.
