Last time I checked One Piece was not Naruto, so it makes perfect sense that Pell stays in Alabasta. Whether it makes sense that he even survived is a different topic ^^

Hm… I wouldn't picture him as a bodyguard... So far we know that the Zombies in the mansion called him "Guardian". This might very well imply that he's working under Hogback as a mansion or ship guardian (kinda like Zoro), although I wouldn't rule it completely out, that he's far more important than just being some stupid mansion guardian.

He set out shortly after Luffy and reached Raftel by climbing Reverse Mountain and then sliding down the other side to end up on Raftel, just to find some empty treasure boxes and the Ryo Poneglyph…

No, seriously though,

Right now all the arrows point to Blackbeard as final villain. He's the only man besides Luffy who's clearly aiming to be Pirate King and actually setting things in motion to reach that goal.
And besides their mutual goal of being Kaizoku-ou, as many ppl said before, their characters are in a way different as night and day, but they share also a lot of similarities in their aspirations and dreams.

Other possibilities as the last deciding match imo would be:

• Dragon
• Sengoku
• Whitebeard (although I'm pretty sure he's being taken care of by Blackbeard and Blackbeard is going to take his place as the man closest to one piece, before Luffy comes and kicks his ass)
• Shanks

and as the last battle in the story I could picture:

• Coby
• LaBoon
• The Sea Kings
• **Buggy
• Smoker** - Zoro…. (hey, we all want to know who's stronger and there have been some incidents between the two of them^^)

Forgot to mention Jinbei as a possible last deciding match… I know he's not likely right now, but who here honestly thought that Blackbeard could be turning out as the final villain when he was first mentioned in Drum.
We've known Jinbei since Arlong Arc and he's a fishmen, which means he's born stronger than humans. It was said that he was the strongest of the shichibukai, which might mean he's superior to Mihawk, who was the rival of Shanks, the man who is a Yonkou and is able to hold his own against the "Strongest Man in the World".
I will at least consider Jinbei as the last villain before he really enters the story and turns out to not be as dangerous as I suspect right now ^^

Well no… but you would still be able to see Sanji chewing on his lollypop, or Auger suddenly using a Super-Soaker ^^

I don't quite get why most people are so sure that Whitebeard hasn't eaten a DF…

Fine, he has the title "Strongest Man in the World" which basically means he has freakishly strong physical power, but that still doesn't prevent him from using a DF's power.
And somehow I'm having trouble picturing Whitebeard in a real fight with his heavy body... He should be having some serious problems against quicker and smaller enemies, at least in Real Life I think ^^

Especially if you think about BB's DF...

Since there is a Yami Yami no mi it would surprise me a lot if there wouldn't be a Hikari Hikar no mi too...

And who elses (besides Sengoku) would fit more to a Hikari Hikari no mi than Whitebeard?

That would also make a good storytelling moment when Whitebeard and Blackbeard clash together with their respective Light/Dark Devil Fruit's

Oh, and just so you know… I'm clearly hoping that Whitebeard is not using a DF, since I'd really like to see some top-tier fighter besides Shanks and (probably) Mihawk without DF powers, I'm just saying that it's a possibility, since a lot of ppl just state that WB is a non-devil fruit user.
