Hey, I love to play chess. It is my favorite board game of all time. I was thinking if there are a few people on here who likes to play chess. We can sort of make an internet chess club.
We can play chess and talk about different strategies and etc. Mostly just play. I play on yahoo games when I have the time.

I played Chess in High School. In fact my school has been national and state champions quite a few times. In fact the Team I was on last year (Teams of 4 at state) my reserve team got 1st place Reserve in the Michigan High School Team Chess Championship. I think my USCF rating made it to about 800 or 900. Because I didn't go to a lot of tournaments because I choke under pressure. BTW my High School was Kearlsey High School from Flint, MI if you want to google it.

The idea of an online chess club doesn´t sound that bad. Never taken part in something like that before but could actually be a cool thing

Actually we use to play chess against each other over Yahoo Messenger a lot. Not so much recently since we are hardly on Yahoo Messenger at the same time.

To play any chess games on Yahoo Messenger, you just message a person and then select games from the toolbar in the messenger window. A drop down menu then appears and chess is one of the games you can select.
If anyone wants to message me to play, the link to my contact name is in my profile. So go ahead and contact me, unless I'm at college, I'll usually play.
I like to play chess. I learned in 5th grade, but I haven't really practiced at any strategies in a long time. I'd really like to, actually. I tend to play more defensively than offensively, trying to predict moves to save my pieces than to get the opponents king, which sometimes gets me a win but usually turns out stalemate more than anything. 
If I played against some good chess players I'm sure I'd totally suck.

While I do like to play Chess once in a while, much more often when I was younger, I don't like how the game always gives me the feeling that I'm not playing it for fun but I'm actually playing to not to lose. If that made any sense.
But not losing is fun. =3
back when i was 14 i played online at this thing called icc… beat a good amount of grandmasters/im's .. havent played in years tho and im not too good anymore

Well that and I can not actually leave my apartment, bloody Ford Focus having it's brake lines froze and then spliting. Luckly I'll get it back on Monday from the repair shop since the parts won't be in till then.
Plus I found my old old old copy of Windows 95 OS installer and I found a classic selection of games to mess around with, like a retro chess game that makes NES graphics look like next generation.
Unfortunately I don't have the time to play chess today. :3

Buuhan, I'm willing to play. Not sure exactly how to add friends without yahoo messenger, but once you add friends, you can go to Yahoo! Chess and look to see who's online ready to play.

Played a bit now and then, not very good.
But I love to just move the knight back and forth and basically not move at all until the opponent's like, moved every piece

I use to be really good at chess. Now I forgot how to play. 
I've always liked the bishop, cause people are always like "oh look at me, I'm all the way over on this side of the map" and you can be just like KAPOW "check bitch" with them…
Of course what do I know, I always lose at chess.
I often win with a rook. ^^ Never really make much use out of knights except to block other pieces from making a move.
