Yea, holy crap indeed! Can't wait to see what they come up with for next year.
During the final sequence of the episode it took me awhile to really realize it wasn't a dream sequence.
^^I got that impression too, it was sort of surreal how it ended. Glad they were more daring with finale this season, it was good to see it wasn't all clear-cut this time around.
Plus it definitely gives next season an exciting lead in.
When the scene happened, I was like: "This is a dream, right? Let this be a dream. This has got to be a dream."
And now, I'm like: "It was a dream. I'm pretty sure it was a dream."
Although deep down, it was real.
I'm over it now.
! People are theorizing that:
1. Dexter's vision of Henry is actually Dexter's dark passenger, trying to get Dexter to feed his lust for murder. The Code is the easiest way to get Dexter to kill, so Dark Passenger cheers Dexter and the Code on. However, with the new twist, I think the Dexter and the Dark Passenger are going to turn towards the dark side.
! 2. People think the Dark Passenger is going to get worse and far more dark, but Dexter is also going to gain a 'Light Passenger'. And considering the season finale, I think you can guess who everyone thinks the Light Passenger will look like.

I'm digging the Light Passenger theory. Man, that was amazing. Seriously, one of the best finales ever. If Rita's not there for the next season, I'm expecting more British titties.
Okay what the motherfuck
[/debra]
! …WOW. Commending writers who has the balls to kill off MAJOR characters. Can't wait to see how this unfolds. Widower Dexter? Dexter on the run with a baby (though I don't see him ditching the other kids)?
! Okay, just to confirm... it was Trinity who killed Rita right? Not that any other explanation seems possible, but I just wanna make sure that I didn't miss anything.

! Yes. The killer WAS Trinity.
Alright, glad to get that out of the way.
Has anyone seen Early Cuts? They're animated webisodes of Dexter's earlier missions. The first two are available on youtube, but you can always see all of em on showtime's website.
It's pretty cool; basically just his kills condensed, but it's got several neat details (like how he got his boat, etc).
If anything, it's always fun to see how Dexter approaches his victims.
Oh, wow. Just marathoned the whole season this weekend, and the end was like a punch in the gut, even though i never really liked that character. She was surprisingly becoming tolerable over the last couple episodes, then..bang!
Michael C. Hall and John Lithgow definitely deserve every single award they'll eventually get (i hope).

September can't get here quick enough.
The ending of that trailer was just too epic.
I can't wait until september 26th.
Time to bring it back
This season should be phenomenal, I hope the setup isn't a let down like season 3.
I'm interested in seeing how Quinn vs Dexter will come out. It should be harder for Dexter to move around freely with everything happening at the moment.
I cannot wait to see how Quinn will die.
Quinn is like a far more annoying, less sympathetic white Doakes.
I'd hate it if he somehow caught Dexter. Dumb shit should just die.
I'm not completely into Quinn hooking up with a certain character in S5E1, I understand they're both whorish, but still it felt forced like a fan story more so than scripted writing.
Honestly though, I think LaGuerta should die this season, she's turning into a far more whiny and annoying character than Quinn. Plus we could see some Batista badassery.

S5E1 Spoilers
[hide]I love Deb to death, but she is grade 'A' whore. She has a massive elektra complex, so she'll screw any guy she has tension with. I'm SHOCKED she hasn't screwed Dexter yet. I know they're brother and sister, but they are adoptive brother and sister AND Dexter is one of the few people Debra really loves. Not that I support their romance or anything.
But really, Debra sleeps with anyone and everyone. Season 3, I seriously caleld that Debra would eventually screw him. I just didn't think Quinn would be suck a fucking asshole later on.
And Batista is awesome.[/hide]

The only reason she hasn't is probably because ha had Rita. I bet she'd screw him if she finds out he's a mass serial killer just because…
@Thousand:

…...That makes so much sense.
…...That makes so much sense.
You need to talk to more psycho women, it really does, I approve of Deb and Dex after the confession =p
"But we can never speak of it again!!!"
It's funny because they're a couple in real life.
I'm serious.
It's like
"Deb, I'm a serial killer"
"No, no, nooooooo!!!"
Breaks down crying
Dexter goes to comfort her.
She just jumps at him and starts making out furiously.
Tense situations always make her super horny.
What this show needs is MOAR MASUKA
Good episode today.
S5E2 Spoilers:
! -Poor poor Cody…
-More reasons to hat Quinn.
-Fucking love Debra. I am so using "Sasuage Fingers" and "Fuck Puddle" from now on.
-I'm liking the new killer concept so far. A cultist doesn't sound to bad.
-I'm dreading Dexter's current prey, though I feel he deserves to die very much.
Everything is Illuminated, the scene where Masuka is explaining what happened in the homicide… my stomach hurts from laughing so hard.
This was the funniest and craziest episode of Dexter I have seen.
Amazing, for that scene alone 12/10.

Seriously. I loved that episode. I was so stressed because I thought everything was going to go wrong. I don't know how the fuck all of that was pulled off. It was just a bad day for everyone. And Masuka just finished the day off perfectly.
I'm really liking the new characters of this season. Lumin and the new cop that's friends with Debra. Seriously hate Quinn right now, and his little buddy. What I hate more than anything is that Debra is having "FEELINGS" for Quinn.
Christ…
Am I the only one who found Quinn and his new parter's villain laugh at the end of the one episode 2 weeks ago to be hilariously cheesy?

I was literally having a heart attack during the chase sequence. I was shouting at my laptop HOLY FUCK NOOOOOO.
Amazing episode.
If the writing stays on this level, this season will certainly surpass the last.
As for the laugh last week, yea it was cheesy, but come on, mr. pretty boy Quinn, can't really play the bad guy part that well. I'm sure he'll find redemption for his actions somehow, as his partner ends up on Dexter's table.
I have a feeling that Quinn's new buddy is going to be one of Lumin's rapists. Possibly the lead one. He's obviously already shown how much of a woman hater he is.
It'll be interesting how that works if it's true.
Wow, this newest episode actually had fast-paced action on the Miami Metro side!
And we know who the other men are too. Should be interesting
Debra…my God....her final act of this episode was SO good. Yesterday's episode was SO GOOD!
Everything is Illuminated, the scene where Masuka is explaining what happened in the homicide… my stomach hurts from laughing so hard.
This. SO. MUCH.
Especially with the serious Dexter voice over, then Masuka choking himself out and doing the "towl-between-the-legs" move. I fucking died.
I heard he's much more prevalent in the books. Makes me want to read them even more.
Really good episode today.
! -Seriously, I'm expecting at any minute for Dexter and Lumin to randomly make out. The tension between these two right now…..and why am I enjoying it so much?
-I LOVE that the kill worked out. I seriously thought it was going to crash and burn.
-One complaint about the kill. When Dexter raised the blade, it would have been amazing if Lumin held the blade with him.
-I can't believe the rookie threw Debra under the bus. Sucks. She was such a redeemable character at first, but now, she's horrible. Now, I know FOR SURE the remaining Fuentes brother is going to kill her.
-Debra's "I killed him, but I feel nothing" is a getting a little close to home. Almost makes me think, "If she knew about Dexter, maybe she wouldn't be bothered so much". But it IS Debra we're talking about.
-The private eye is such a supreme asshole. I seriously hope that the guy breaking into the house in the preview is him, and Lumin randomly kills him.
-Dexter intending to kill a public speaker...awesome...
I'm going to be on a week road trip this Thursday. I'm not going to be able to watch the next episode of Dexter for a while. GOD! I hate the thought of being behind on Dexter.
Ending to this episode was insane.
! I have a bad feeling that Lumin will take the fall at the end of the season to save Dexter, since he's saved her life.
! Also fucking bitches, hating on the white girl.
What did Jordan's bodyguard meant when he said "Huey, Dewey and Louie"?
i just watched the last episode of season 4 (were a bit behind her in Australia) and holly fucking shit that was good it was getting to end and i just figured it was going to rap up with the usual kill the main serial killer then happy family crap but wow never saw that coming i cant wait for season 5

God, I hope not.
What did Jordan's bodyguard meant when he said "Huey, Dewey and Louie"?
Most likely just being an asshat and making up names.
There's a part of me that thinks maybe he's making a crude remark using the name of the Disney duck triplet, but who knows.
Either way, I don't think it meant anything.
Really good episode today.

I don't think it was the rookie (Manzon) who threw Deb under the bus, it was LaGuerta…..
Laguerta is the most annoying character on the show, as I've said before, she needs to die off like in the books already.
Shortly followed by Batista doing something awesome and returning to all his glory.
after the ending of season 4 i thought it couldn't get any better
how wrong i was
! really loving season 5 dexter and lumen have come a long way but i dont see it lasting T_T
Laguerta is the most annoying character on the show
And then Laguerta managed to throw one of my most hated characters of this show under the bus. GOOD SHOW, Maria!
! Okay, I've finally caught up after missing two episodes of Dexter.
-Holy shit, Debra is the best detective ever. I also have a feeling that she'll most likely vouch for Lumin, IF Debra ever finds out that she's the vigilante.
! -Maria outing Quinn on trying to pin Rita's death on Dexter….I forgive Maria for EVERYTHING. And Debra's fury that followed...GOD that was good.
! -Dexter is seriously showing all his emotions right now. For an emotionless monster, he seems intensely human. Also, beating the shit out girl's father was SO GOOD!!! Holy crap, that was wonderful.
! -That 'first victim' chick is completely bonkers! I have a feeling, she'll be killed in the next episode.
! -People are SERIOUSLY upset about Dexter and Lumin making love. Seriously? HOW CAN PEOPLE NOT SEE THAT COMING? I enjoyed it, and it was a pretty hot scene...so...there you go.
! -I'm shocked Lumin didn't break down after killing someone. She handled it just fine.
I wasn't upset at the sex, it was foreshadowed for a while.
My prediction of Lumen taking the fall is seeming more and more likely now. But there is still the loose end of the guy that's stalking them (forgot his name).. not sure how that gets tied up. He hasn't proven he deserves to go under the knife yet (no real crimes).
I just love how this series really gives you the impression that it's a battle of monsters rather than humans. Monster vs Monster is so boss!!!
And yeah, it's gonna be totally tragic if Dexter immediately loses a new girl.
Anyone see the season finale? Many people are disappointed, I myself think it was ok but I can see why it was disappointing to ppl given the comparison with last season.
It was a bit disappointing, but I still liked it.
It was very anti-climatic, considering how easily
! Jordan Chase would put out of his misery and how easily several problems were solved. As awesome as Debra letting the 'vigilantes' go was, it pretty much killed what a lot of people were expecting, Debra finding out about Dexter.
I think at some point, they have to let her know on screen.
As for the finale, it was a bittersweet return to status quo, hopefully they have a couple of phone calls next season to establish that Dexter has someone he can talk to.
Not a great season like last season, but a good one, hopefully, the next one either ends it with a bang, or has Deb find out the truth, I don't think the show can survive/stay on top with any more of this back and forth return to status quo stuff.
Ugh, extremely disappointing finale.
