Volume 17 came out in March, with volume 18 coming out in June. They're also printing an average of three new chapters each month in Shonen Jump. And by the way, they're this slow with just about everything, from what I can see.

The person is entitled to his or her's opinion but …. this why Funimation SHOULD had not dubbed movie 8 , because when a person who isn't even familiar with the franchise and is introduced to the franchise through a movie like this , they ultimately despise it and since that movie was made to make new fans they inaccurately judge the series through the movie and fail to articulate why it is the most popular Anime in japan , because the "appeal'' is not there in the movie a person who is not familiar and accompanied with One piece's "less generic art " will ultimately find little enjoyment out of it, this is quite similar to what happen with Kotaku actually.

Viz's release schedule is shitty but not that shitty. Volume 15 came out back in August of last year.
I got the movie recently (at my local Wal Mart for about $20), and even though there were some things about it that I disliked (cutting the fights down to a couple seconds, maybe a minute, when the fights with the higher-up BW members could have been longer; the complete lack of explanation for Devil Fruit powers, which would really confuse people who are new to the series (Mr. 1 and Lassoo in particular)), I thought it was a solid movie in general. It could have been better, or at least contained more extras, but at least it gives the option to choose between English and Japanese voices. In my opinion, the English voices and the fact that it's uncut One Piece alone made it worth buying for me.

But seriously, regardless of what language you watch that movie in, it was awful. You listed alot of bad points right there yourself. They also changed parts of the story that are really important to some fans (me). For instance, Vivi put Luffy's hat on her head for a large part of the movie, but she never even held it in the anime/manga (only girl to ever touch his hat was Nami). They're just reusing older parts. They also overdid the part where he grabbed Vivi out of the air. They made it too romantic (I hate Vivi). :getlost:
Just because he/she gave their opinion on Amazon it doesn't make them a dick. I think almost all of use who have seen it here can agree that the movie was
1. Not good for beginners in the series.
and
2. Just not a good movie.
And so he/she commented on the artwork of the series (or it could have been aimed at the movie itself I'm not sure.) But what newcomer to the series doesn't? I know when I first saw One Piece I was pretty weirded out too. (Mostly by the scenario but the character design certainly didn't help).
Honestly, I enjoyed it for what it was, but that doesn't mean I wasn't bothered by the problems. In fact, there are, at least FIVE things that could have made it better!

Fine then, only girl he ever GAVE his hat to or girl who put the hat on her head (that one time Robin did it doesn't count because she put the hat over a hat she was already wearing) was Nami. Vivi doesn't get hat.
Oh, and I just checked (the manga), and Vivi did NOT give him the hat at the end of the arc. He woke up and asked where it was and Usopp told him it was right next to him and that a soldier found it. Vivi never once touched his hat. So there. :devil:
Besides, Vivi's a princess. Princesses don't wear hats. She can wear a crown of thorns.

The movie is god awful in Japanese, it's actually quite fun in English.
I just got the movie 8 DVD and wow it is rushed, but I love the english voices, but young Vivi's voice is weird.
All I have to say is, Crocodile's voice is terrible.

One Piece Movie 8 has been aired in Japan TV yesterday, with a 15 minutes new Opening (based on Whiskey Peak Arc). Greg recorded and published the video in Facebook (except 3 or 4 minutes).
Brief explanation. I never expected the new part to be at the start or so long so I was unprepped and was racing with my wife to find either cameras with batteries or memory cards that weren't full WHILE filming. So there are some chunks missing. You all know the story but this is not the complete version. Sorry folks.
