Ok, this is one storyline thingy that is plausible…... at least I think it is.....
can the World Government/Marine send a SPY to join the mugiwaras? It might be hard to get past Robin, but if the person has l33t spying skill and he is the top guy/gal for the job, is this plausible?
oh yeah, Infernal Affairs is a Hong Kong trilogy movie about a police spy that works for the Hong Kong Mafia/Triad and another Triad spy working for the Hong Kong Police. ;)
Actually Infernal Affairs (one of my favourite trilogy's) is about a spy that works for the triad and a spy that works for the police and both of their lives. I won't spoil the storyline but i just had issue with the description :lol:

Honestly, without spoiling IA for anyone. you only need to look at Trigun and see how Nicholas D. Wolfwood was converted to see that it just wouldn't happen. The mugiwara aren't evil and thus that storyline falls to bits.
BTW you should watch IA 2, it's the worst of the Trilogy, IA3 being my favourite but it's worth a watch.

What? Oda pulled a Nami on Robin in Water 7/Enies Lobby, that can mean Oda may pull the same trick again.
Luffy may be close from mental retardation but I don't think he'd be the kind of guy to be fooled by someone pretending to be his friend only to betray him later. It doesn't fit his character.
If a spy really try to join and will join, the only thing might happen to my opinion is like the old good stories, he'll become a good one through the time!

It might be hard to find a marine that can blend in with the mugiwaras, but they the marines have the resources to do just that. And after this Enies Lobby fiasco, you did think the World Government have mount an all out assault on the mugiwaras, or sent a spy to join in the mugiwara ranks.

Ah yes, a good strategy for the World Government. Which is exactly why the morons won't take it. After Alabaster, they painted Luffy & Crew as villains to cover their own mistake, when in fact they should have lauded him as such a hero that he'd get railroaded into the Shichibukai. In Ohara, they executed everyone instead of gathering together the archeologists for a "think tank" project that would have kept them secluded and silent for years-if not forever. On Enies Lobby, they could have taken Robin to Navy HQ as soon as the Sea Train arrived. But in all three instances, the World Government either relied on idiots, acted out of arrogance, or succumbed to their fears. They've dropped the ball too many times at this point for me to accept that they could come up with as good a plan as this.
Zoro would smell a spy a mile away he's so untrusting, Robin is like the smartest person ive seen in one piece. But ya never know eh?
Sanji is the spy! I know it! I mean, that's why his left eye is always covered… it has a World Government symbol over it.
What makes you think none of the current members are spies?
You could say that possibly everyone at Chopper's island was working in cahoots with the World Government, because they have a prophecy that tells them Luffy will become the greatest threat to mankind.
You could actually say that for anyone. Everything that happened alongside that person happened for a particular reason.
Perhaps there's someone with the Cockroach (Or something to this extent) Zoan fruit, and it enables them to spy on the Mugiwara's discreetly, sending Den Den Mushi calls at various islands the World Government would be able to pinpoint, based on the direction of their current Log Pose path.
It's fictional, nothing is impossible.
my theory is that the musician that Luffy always want can be the playing double agent for the marines/World Government….. I am sure the marines would employ this once a crew is too strong for them....... or they feel that taking out a certain crew isn't a good idea .........

you mean like franky does. Franky could be the musician that they wanted as well as a shipwright. That is, if he joins after he builds that ship.
For a spy on the SH… I doubt it. Not only for the reason that the WG really doesn't need a spy on them, but also what kind of information would be given back? They are very peaceful. Luffy eats all the time, zoro sleeps all the time, and they have no other motive but to achieve their dreams. It isn't like they enjoy causing terror on the seas.
Though if they were to pull it off, I could see it ending up similar to when Luffy got in a fight with Zoro when he thought zoro didn't like those B-work members hospitality and killed them all.
Hell come to think of it, there have been several spies as it is. people at whiskey mountain to strawhats (in a sense), Vivi in B-works, lucci and gang in water 7, in the filler of G8 with robin, even nami during arlong park to some degree.
another reason why having a spy on board the mugiwaras would be beneficial….... finding out the weakness of the mugiwaras........ so that when the time comes for the World Government to crush them....it would be "a walk in the park"....... ;)
