We know that there is a big chance of Luffy and his mates face Buggy's crew again in some future arc. But in the case of Alvida, how she's gonna to be defeated? Since her Sube Sube powers don't let certain hits damage her body, what you guys think who or what will knock her out? I was thinking in Nami to be the best choice to fight with Alvida by using her Clima Takt.
Fighting with Alvida
-
-
I would say lateral hits, like Luffy's Whip.
-

That's I was trying to say. Hits like Smoker's White Blow could give some effect on her.
-
Actually, Ican see imagine Alvida VS Nami. Its another chick fight like the one with Nami VS the soap/bubble woman (I forgot her name)lol.
-
Califa. Nami also fought Miss Doublefinger, so yeah I suspect it being another all female fight.
Hmm…would Robin's hana hana powers be able to grab Alvida or would she just slip through her grasp?
-
Id imagine that Robin is Alvida's destined fight. Her powers make her a good challenge to the Hana hana fruit, and the mace will still hurt Robin.

Well Robin's attacks are of the lateral type so yeah it would be a good challenge for her.
-
What I meant by lateral is sweeping hits. Like, unless Alvida has super speed, a sweeping blow would get her, as there is no angle to slip.
-
She could jump…...or do the matrix and bend back. <<
Yeah, cause if she were to bend back her body would become like a slop and luffy's whip would slide right up her body.
-
I'm liking this discussion. Alvida could turn out to be a very dangerous foe indeed. I never really thought of her being that dangerous until now. Whoever she fights or if she fights reamins the question. Whoever it is will has a difficult time dealing with he abilities.
-
I think Alvida could be defeated also by poison gas or one of Nami's Clima tact attacks.
-
Like some of the people above, I've always viewed Robin as being the rival to Alvida, based on the idea that her hands won't slip off as they could be classified as being part of Alvida's body (if you understand my drift). However I haven't thought about Nami using the Clima Tact or someone using a sweeping attack.
-
I don't want another Cat Fight for Nami, and I have a feeling Alvida's attacks will be something Oda pulls out of his ass like soap "removing your strength" or "turning you into a slippery doll" in the case of Califa.
-

Ops…
But anyway, I think she can get some super speed by slipping her body. Like she did in Loguetown before Smoker stops her and Buggy (the Sube Sube Spur).
By the way ninjuichi, who's the fighter girl in your avatar? Curious.

That was because she used a ramp to build up speed with help from good ol' gravity.

Vanessa from the King of Fighter's series.
-
There was that huge piece of rock or whatever in Loguetown that completely ramped off of her. If lateral hits could hit her, then that rock could have. Lateral hits would simply fly upward against her frictionless body (must have some kind of special shoes…)
Even if you were to drive a huge needle toward her at light speed it would reflect off.
-

Because there was be an angle for it to slip towards. If Luffy's stretched leg goes across her midsection from her side, then it wouldn't be able to slip. Unless she has the foresight and reaction speed to tilt to her other side as it connects to make it shoot up her side.
-
Honestly though, we're just assuming that lateral hints would hurt her. She probably has the skill to dodge that sort of thing by now, she most likely doesn't have to move very far to make a hit slip off of her.
-
Serious answer: Just shut her down with seastone. I could actually see someone getting a chunk as a valuable tool. Maybe Kabuto has a seastone shaft!
Less serious answer: Repeat of Sanji x Califa. Ending in Alvida sliding away yelling "Get this heart-eyed freak away from me" as a battered Sanji mutters something about "you always hurt the one you love…"

well, Lucci didn't have that skill, and he's Lucci. But maybe we don't know the extent of her properties.
-
Hmm…I always thought that Alvida's fruit has the ability to let physical attacks slide off her. So I can't really picture Robin getting a hold on her and doing a neck crack or something. Alvida's head would probably slip out of that hold. I'm seeing Nami doing another clima tact lighting move and zapping her like she always does.
-
It would be nice to see something original than always settign the women up in "cat fights" though, I'm sure Oda will do it anyways. It seems to be his style. (along with a lot of other writers) I won't be upset either, as long as there's not too much fan service. It's a battle, I wanna see fighting, not a strip tease. Oda is pretty good for this. (sticking to the battle)
-
I was thinking in my sleep but it seems like it was already discussed.
Alvida could also be a deadly opponent with speed, if she got enough momentum she could be sliding every which way to the point shes hard to keep an eye on. Along with her club and that speed you're gonna get hurt.
And she probably doesn't need a ramp like she did in LougeTown, if she slid back and forth for a good minute she could get some hefty speed. (Which she could do by dodging attacks without her opponent realizing)
Yeah, the more I think about it the more Alvida is seeming to be a hell of a deadly opponent.

That's true, but there were moments that the boys fighted with female opponents. Like Zoro in Whisky Peak.
Thinking in this way, Ace can be other character to fight with Alvida. He would his Hiken movement and she wouldn't have many chances to dodge it.
-
The chances of Ace fighting Alvida is….well...
-
Am I the only one who doesn't think Alvida will be a serious opponent? Even with her Sube-Sube fruit powers, she doesn't seem like a serious threat for anyone.
Though I am curious as to how the Sube-Sube fruit made her skinny. It doesn't make sense. Then again, it probably doesn't need to make sense.
-
You know….so have it. She says it slide right off of her...but that makes no sense, but hey its OP.
-
You know, I never really thouyght about just how good Alvida's power is before.
And keep in mind everybody that I'm expecting all of Buggy's crew to have a new set of techniques to fight the SH's with.
-
If you have two walls squashing together, she'll fly out like a champagne cork. If Luffy did Muchi then his leg would wrap around her then whip back around, not doing anything.
If Paulie joined and he fought her…
ahem -
I'm not so sure Paulie's ropes would even be able to keep a grip.
-
HE LIKES NO BUTTS AND HE CANNOT LIE!!XP lol ( there's an actual song) Alvida doesn't seem that important, but she does look tough! I always thought Buggy was more important than her (he's always popping up in openings)but a catfight of her versus Nami does seem kinda interesting. (Or am I just a perv?)Both :P
-
Pssh. All Franky needs to do is a Coup De Vent, and Alvida is gone. Franky vs Alvida FTW!
-
And all this talk of attacks sliding up Alvida's body..Extra-pervy. I could see Buggy catching up to the Strawhat's and having a deck-to-deck brawl. In this same brawl, I could see Alvida sliding toward a love-struck Sanji at full speed. Then, at the last minute, Nami tugs him out of the way, and Alvida slips right over the edge of the boat. Ker-splash!
I always assumed that the Sube Sube Fruit converted all of her fat into oil, and she excretes the oil constantly through her pores. Not unlike myself.
-
Zoro wouldn't be able to cut her. A blade is something you wedge into something or someone. Swords have atoms. If the atom hit's alvida's atoms then the sword atom will slide off.
Sorry for using mangled English.
