I kinda noticed a pattern going on around here. It seems like Luffy loses his sandals before or during a big fight. Here's what I'm talking about:
-Arabasta arc: Crocodile dissolves Luffy's sandals with one of his attacks.
-Skypiea arc: Luffy's sandals get digested while in the python.
! -World Government arc: Luffy's Gear 3rd breaks through his sandals while battling Lucci.
Yeah I noticed that too. I'm not to sure why he does that though maybe so he can have one less thing to think about in detail.
do you guys start threads to look cool, for fame or just because you're bored?

Also against Foxy he didn't even bother putting them on. heh
Maybe he'll get some boots like Ace. But he's bound to lose his shoes at one point because of the life he lives. It's difficult to move around and not lose sandals.
I happens again. I think about something for long enough and someone WILL make a thread of it. >_>
But yeah, I thought that was interesting, too. It's just bound to happen in these situations (and tick Nami off XD).
Of course, with some of his fights, it's a wonder he never loses anything else. :|
Luffy's lost his shirt before too. It happens. Generally people don't go around with one pair of clothes through their whole life. And sandals are a really a pain in the but to run around in anyway, I don't know how Luffy does it.

Did you notice that Luffy's hair has been cut a couple of times in battle too? Kuro did and Lucci did.
