not a bad site lol, though I still like the bbc site as it has full episode guides and stuff, useful for the first 2 Doctors where most episodes are missnig.
Doctor Who
-
-
Yeah true true. That site is better, but this one is helpful too. XD
-
see, the truth is out XD gotta love that crossover scene lol
-
Well, they started filming series 3 this week, here is somethings that is apparently in:
! Freema Agyeman is the next companion in a medical student named Martha Jones (old news)
They meet William Shakespeare,
Blood sucking alien Plasmavoures,
The Judoon - A clan of galactic stormtroopers
A sinister intellegance at work in 1930s New York.
John Barrowman (Captain Jack)will return in the series finale (Another Torchwood thing I'm guessing.)
! Add to this is the large speculation of Mars being taken over by the Cyberman and the Master making a return. (me thinks that will be the New York one)
! As for the Christmas Special as it was shown in Doomsday Catherine Tate (oh god no) guest stars as a bride who finds her wedding day interrupted by an alien plot to destroy the earth. It will feature the return of the Robot Santas and also guest stars Sarah Parish (Wedding Date) as the evil, alien mastermind. My thoughts on this are: Oh god no it's Catherine Tate and Oh yay! My Sycorax figure actually has some meaning now.
! So overall seems to be a pretty good series. Even if I don't like the new companion already (she sucked in Army of Ghosts) -
apparently some new info on series 3:
According to RTD in this month's DWM, there are NO Ice warriors in Season 3. Nor does Rose re-appear. But there will be two returning 'monsters' (one will be quite surprising) and a finale that out guns the previous two series climaxes. Oh, and Captain Jack is returning for 'multiple episodes'. (although that could just mean the last two episodes of the series).
On a side note, the new companion was also very very nearly a Victorian maid.
Martha will have a family that will be returned to over the season, but no ex-boyfriend. She is 23. (And RTD nearly made her a lesbian).
Returning Monsters, hmmmm, one suprise, thats probably the Cybermen/Master or Daleks right there.
As for other ones, I have a suspician that its the Slitheen….or another Slitheen type thing from Raxaphoriscallapatoris (I think thats it) another race was actually introduced in a book I was reading called 'The Monsters Inside' where they take over a Prison Camp and the Doctor, Rose and The Slitheen save it. At the end it shows that the Slitheen are back to their old ways too.
And damn, we nearly had a victorian lesbian maid, I want us to have her instead XD
-
Jango has me watching Doctor Who now and…I want more dammit!
I've only seen Army of Ghosts and Doomsday thanks to YouTube.
-
well they got a couple more on there I think:
Girl in the Fireplace,
Rise of the Cybermen,
Idiots Lantern,
Love and Monsters,
Impossible Planet
and
Fear HerNot sure about New Earth but I know the ones they DONT have is Tooth and Claw, All of School Reunion, Age of Steel, The Satan Pit, and all of Doomsday.
-
Only part one of Doomsday is gone. I just watched it from part 2 and I didn't seem to miss much.
-
ok, Youtube got rid of a lot of the Doctor Who eps, which is a shame (not for me, I got all but the last 3 on DVD) but I did find this pwnsome music vid:
also found the trailer for The Invasion which is gonna be out in a couple of months, looks pretty awesome from the trailer, especially the remade bits shown:
-
aww, that's ok i'm downloading the series anyway XD youtube tends to suck anyway with their shitty quality…
I'd like to see The Girl In The Fireplace in more awesome quality, that was a damn good (and sexy) episode XD
-
I wanna see more Doctor Who too but Jango wont give me the torrent site. Hes cruel to me. ;_;
cuddles neko ;_____;
-
probably cus you never asked for it.
-
Doctor who is brilliant and I am looking foward to the Torchwood spinoff which should be on soon.
-
I can't wait for the new season/series of Doctor Who to start. ^-^
-
I figured I would check out the first episode but I wasn't that awfully impressed. Uh, now with Doctor Who being as popular as it is, will Americans be making their own version of the show? Isn't that what usually happens? You know, The Office and suchs.
-
I doubt they will, its been going on for almost 50 years now and they aint copied it. Although some people would say Star Trek was loosely based on it.
-
I really doubt that the americans will make their own version of it. As Jango said, the Who series has been around for fifty years. Plus they are showing the newest series on SciFi now anyway.
-
wow, something nice to know is that the BBC have put Mark Gatiss' (League of Gentlemen, also wrote the Idiot's lantern and the unquiet dead for the new series) new Doctor Who book about the 7th Doctor and Ace online, you can download it from the Doctor Who site,
useful if your like omni and cant wait for the new series XD (no offense lol)
-
Well, some new things about the 3rd series have been released, specifically the Shakespeare episode which I'm guessing to be set around the same time (in episode order) as Tooth and Claw and The Unquiet dead.
! David Tennant and Freema Agyeman have spent the last few days filming in and around London's Globe Theatre for what promises to be one of the most ambitious and exciting episodes to date.
! Set in 1599 in Tudor London, the episode features the Doctor's first meeting with William Shakespeare as he foils a plot to destroy the Earth. The Globe Theatre provided a stunning backdrop for much of the action whilst the Doctor Who special effects team are recreating the look and feel of London's streets from 400 years ago.
! Dean Lennox Kelly, best known for his recent role in the BBC One drama Sorted and as Kev in Shameless, guest stars as William Shakespeare.
! "The Shakespeare episode is, without doubt, one of our most ambitious projects to date," enthused Russell T Davies. "It's incredible to have a working replica of London's most famous theatre in which to film the new series. Viewers can look forward to Shakespeare giving the performance of his life in order to save the Earth from destruction."Also seems that they are releasing a Doctor Who TCG which looks to be pretty good, I might get some seeing as they never bothered releasing the One Piece one over here.
-
Hm, it sounds quite interesting, lets hope it'll be more accessable online.
And for a series being around as long as it has it took them this long to do a TCG? XD
-
Nah, this TCG is for the new series, just has cards from the older series too.
-
Wah! I am so going to have to some.
-
YES! Another series has been announced, Happy Days….although it wasn't a suprise that they would announce another series.
Anyways, got a couple new DVDs recently, EarthShock, Claws of Axos and The Seeds of Death, all three pwn so much, I liked the latter one too cus I can't really remember much of the Ice Warriors.
-
Damn, another spinoff announced, this one is called Sarah Jane Investigates, it better have K-9 in lol.
Anyways, seems that the enemy in Runaway Bride is gonna be a Half woman, half spider thing….weird...but cool!
Also I heard rumours about U.N.I.T returning, I hope they do, they pwn much more than Torchwood, the Brigadeer (tho hes too old to play the role now) is one of my fave characters in the series.
-
Rumours of the Master returning? About bloody time. I'd love to see David's Doctor go up against him. However, like I said before, I felt Anthony was probably the best actor to play the Master. Shame he got a minor role in comparison (though I once thought up an insane idea for his character to become a new "Master").
-
I'd love to see the Master return, but maybe not this series, series 4 I hope. And keep the Daleks and Cybermen out of the picture for a couple of years too. Bring back the Ice Warriors and Sontarans.
-
I agree the Daleks and Cybermen should sit on the "bench" for a bit.
Im a bit dissapointed that Jack will only be back for one episode. I was hoping he'd travel with the Doctor for a bit.
-
He has his own spinoff series, that should be enough really. Although I do think he was the companion who has been there the least. (Adam doesn't qualify as a companion, and Mickey did quite a bit during series 1 anyways)
-
Got my copy (ok, Two copies) of Battles in Time today, which is the Card Game magazine. Although I was a lil disappointed that 2 of my packs were identical I feel I got some good cards including:
Dalek Invasion,
Captain Jack (Holofoil),
Fixed K-9 (Holofoil)
2x Moxx of Balhoon,
Cyberman,
2xPsychic Paper (what exactly does this do?)
Reinette,
Elton Pope,
Gwyneth,
Auton Mickey.seems pretty fun so far, played a game with one of my mates and it was good so. Also the magazine was cool, it has the 10th Doctor comic series in too.
-
found some pics from series 3:
! The Judoon, a race of galactic spacetroopers somehow send a Hospital to the moon in the first episode:
!
thanks to Martin Owen for the pics.
-
I saw my first episode on the Sci-Fi channel on Friday, titled The Age of Steel (the final part, whichever it was)
I had little idea as to what was going on other than the Cybermen wanting to upgrade….... or something. A lot of thick British accents which I can't understand (probably due to my hearing problems), with the voice of the Cybermen being very difficult to comprehende. They sound like they're trying to pass a stone while someone gives them a physical. Great special effects though.
So far, I can't form a final opinion. The episode just wasn't enough for me to do so. Also, Local-Chan told me it wasn't the best episode to start with.
The episode that airs this Friday is titled The Idiot's Lantern. Is that one any good?
-
I thought so, it deals with a TV essence trying to suck the essences from everyone who watches it to become more powerful.
-
Hehe, I've already seen all but a few episodes for this season airing in the US XD
I actually loved Rise of the Cybermen and Age of Steel (partially because I believe I watched both eps with Local-chan ^^) you really should watch Rise of the Cybermen before Age of Steel, it would make more sense, AWB ^^ You can find them on Youtube, I think… and there's also torrents. Or will they do reruns eventually..?
Anyways, ah The Idiot's Lantern, that was an interesting episode... not my favorite, but still fun. My favorite has to be Girl in the Fireplace
because of Tennant's make-out scenebecause the story in that one was really interesting. -
Which episode would be a good start for me?
-
The Christmas Invasion is the first in this series, I saw Ghosts of the Future and Doomsday which is the end of series 28 first….so, yeah...start where ever.
-
Actually you can skip Christmas Invasion and still know whats going on really, personally I say you can start at these points in series 2: Christmas Invasion, New Earth, Rise of the Cybermen, The Impossible Planet.
And thats about it, perhaps Army of Ghosts too since it pwns so much.
Anyways, The Idiot's Lantern was the underated episode of this series, the only problem was that it came after Age of Steel.
-
Hehe yeah, it was like the filler episode right after the climax… happens a lot in One Piece XD
-
damn, 1 more day till the new ep, I must admit, I'm looking more forward to this than Christmas itself, and I got a good right too:
! SPIDER WOMAN THING!
also, I see that there is Music and Monsetrs on tomorrow, as well as the Musical on the interweb, good ol chrimbo, always nice to us UK folk ^_^
-
wow that went online pretty fast…
saw the episode yesterday and despite my seething hatred of cathrene tate I enjoyed it a lot. Also we get to find out why the doctor needs an assistent with a very chilling scene where
! The doctor murders the empress of Racnoss children okay they were going to kill earth but man that was extreme
as for that trailer…
! Thats definatly the return of the cult of skarro from doomsday
-
Lemme know when the episode gets online.
-
Can't help with the episode itself however I can help with this…
This is a concert of music from the series which was played all day yesterday on the bbcs interactive service be warned though it is 90 minutes long!
if you have real player and want to listen to a specific part heres the link
-
Is it me or did the guy who said "I'm going to perform a miracle. I am 76 years old" look like Peter Davison, the 5th Doctor?
As for the episode, I'm happy the doctor finally made a reference to Gallifrey. Maybe I'm being over critical but I feel to often the new series ignores any real reference to the old stuff. I was egging him to say something like "I'm a Time Lord" to the spider-woman and loved the fact he went one better and the reaction. The bride was a bit annoying though. I can't say it was an overly great ep but not terrible.
-
Huzzah! Preview!
Well, Stupid New Earth Cats again, along with Face of Boe…but Daleks! And Mark Gatiss as the rumoured Master episode! Huzzah! Anyways, average ep, probably sits with the most of series 1 in being not great but not bad (in league with the Slitheen eps, I loved the Galifrey mention along with the Cybermen joke, oh and the TARDIS pockets, made me think of FF/Zelda/Any RPG lol
-
Just a bit of trivia here…
The new earth cat seen in the end trailer is apparently played by Ardal o hanlon from father ted and my hero. I knew i heard that voice from somewhere but the commentary for the runaway bride confirmed it.
-
yea it was announced a couple of months ago in the Doctor Who Magazine that he would be in lol, along with a couple of other famous people lol, it'll be pretty amusing to see him, hopefully it'll make the stupid kitties worth watching.
-
Anyone catch that Sarah Jane show yesterday? God it was terrible, K-9 stuck in a black hole 0,o WTF!? Means we have to see those stupid kids more, NO! Although I liked the bit where it had all the stuff from her adventures like pictures of Harry and the Brigadier.
-
I didn't watch it. Apparently K-9 is getting his own spin off though. Personally I'd rather see him back at the Doctor's side.
According to various sources, Jack will be back for the last three episodes of season 3.
-
yea Jack's been confirmed for a while.
Also, dunno if anyone else saw this but in Runaway Bride, you can see an Advert for Magpie Electronics, I was like WOW!
Also, in the comics, the Cybermen are back! Woo!
-
I am aware Jack has been confirmed for a while (and the final Torchwood episode… well. I won't say any more). However, I just found out it'll only be for the last three episodes. I was hoping he'd be around for longer.
