New Japanese horror film from Shimizu.
Well, the good news is that Shimizu has finally told a story. Many of Juons
detractors argue that the film doesnt have a plot….which is for the most part true because it`s mostly people getting killed. I have faith in part 3 tying the series in a sweet knot but that is still far ahead.
That said Rinne
s story is very interesting and had me guessing up until the end even though I thought I had it figured out several times. That was very fun and dare I say the most fun part of the film because as far as horror goes this borders on dramorror. Not a single spook except an obnoxiously loud rind on a cell-phone which was amplified by the theaters DTS and is unlikely to have the same effect at home.
re going to see it, dont expect frights but do expect an entertaining story with a surprisingly Miike-esque finale.
Expect the American remake in a year or two (no joke)
