Nice! Glad there's no need to be concerned about taking an off month! Congrats on finishing WCI, everyone! Woot woot!
I peaked ahead and listened to the final musical. Best one of the arc for the dub, imo.

Was just looking ahead. For the likely December set, we’ll get to hear the new revolutionaries. Plus another Kaido line and a good handful of returning characters like Vivi, Shirahoshi, Lucci, Rebecca, Stelly, Akainu, Fujitora, Koby, Sabo, Dalton, Doffy, Kizaru, Shanks, Bonney, and others. We’ll also hear the first lines of Ryokugyu. So even though this next set is basically half filler, there are some good bits to look forward to.

It SUCKS that it’s half-filler (and recap filler as well, the worst kind). The Reverie was a top-tier mini-arc.
Toei really f**ked that one up. Not even sure I wanna buy it. I wish they just adapted it like how they normally do and then just placed a mini-filler arc or something after it to buy time from Wano.
OFFER: If someone DMs me a link to where to download OP dub episodes, I’ll make a rough fan edit of Reverie dub within the first few weeks of release. I really can’t stand all that filler, and I want my wife to see the arc without all that, first.
@Blake-Bakes-Cakes Dragon Ball is also an easy case of a small cast but a good English dub for the games. Now would they go as far as to make a Dragon Ball Super video game with so many characters from the tournament of power getting dubbed into the video game? Well, that would be hard given Dragon Ball outside Xenoverse 2 seem to only pick the best fighters from the Tournament of Power arc as there are so many characters to fight that it's hard to figure out how some of them can fit into a fighting game with some having a real giant boss fight in TOP arc. So mostly is why games like Dragon Ball Z Kakarot don't have any stories that take place in the Super timeline. As the game is a Z-only video game. Kakarot will still probably have stories taken from the Z-era stuff like maybe Movie based stories getting DLC.
@Nitwit dragonball has a small cast? No it doesn’t lmao. Although admittedly it’s not as big as OP’s.
@MooseAP yeah at least Dragon Ball Z games are easier to dub it probably makes sense why the Japanese don't ask CrunchyRoll to dub any new One Piece games which is funnier as some newer games keep having characters from the manga appear in the game that hasn't appeared in the anime yet remember pirate warriors 4 where they added Kaido and not his transformation awakening? Even the newest One Piece game right now has places where you travel back in time or some crap so I guess cause OP has a bigger cast it's hard to dub it in English or any other language right now
@Zephray I keep the filler so your wife understands what anime was like before it got mainstream most people nowadays want filler back even if some anime companies refuse which is very funny for some

Any confirmations that they’re recording Wano yet? I don’t pay attention to VA Twitter as much as some of you. Didn’t even notice Bowling confirmed that he’s directing the film.
They must be. I believe Momo's voice actor around two months ago posted on Twitter that we'd be getting more Momo soon. So she must've been dubbing Wano episodes.
The dub has shown zero signs of slowing down, and we already know that the writing staff is waaaaaaaay ahead. So far ahead, that they've actually stopped working on One Piece.
Last I heard they were ahead was the beginning of WCI, and I don’t remember getting much clarification on how ahead they were. But yeah, I don’t think production halted for Wano, I’m just looking for confirmation. Sounds like the Momo actress gave it.
I hope the physical releases pick up speed
Is there any tweet from the writing staff about the update? I can't seem to find it
So what do y’all think the weekend box office for OP Film Red is gonna be? Early projections say about $10 million (and will grab 2nd place after Black Adam, which has been out for a few weeks already) but something in my gut tells me it’s gonna fall short of that.

It's tracking to opening above 10, what are you talking/getting your stuff?
Just an article I found -
https://toddmthatcher.com/2022/10/27/one-piece-film-red-box-office-prediction/
People are reporting that reservations for Film Red are basically empty… man… I really hope Film Red and OP by conjunction doesn’t become a laughing stock due to low performance compared to the other anime releases. ️
I checked my local Alamo theaters. Depends entirely on locations. Some are booked full and others are nearly empty.
Something bothering me in the episode when Pekoms and Luffy escape the mirror world, the decuplets boy referred to skywalk by its japanese name geppo, don't tell me we going to start using japanese terms now and then in the following episode Sanji clearly says sky walk
@Zephray from what in noticed the first day of release has some decent showings but anything after that - completely empty.
I mean, yeah. If you care enough to schedule tickets in advance you’re probably going to do so for the opening
And around my area there are way more packed theaters for later days than there are for today or Friday. As has been said, it will vary by location
@AceLuffy4ever Wow just skipped to that episode, that's super weird, how did that get into the final version?
@MooseAP You need to chill with the doom and gloom to be honest, it's getting a tad bit annoying
Oh you're Roman Mack nevermind it all makes sense now lmfao, you never let up brother. Can't believe people genuinely put up with you again
@Skippy Holding a grudge? I’m not breaking any rules, it’s legitimately how I feel. How dare you undermine that simply because of my past. I’ve grown since then and will not flame you anymore. It’s been years. Please let go of the grudge. Right now just discuss what’s being posted or ignore it if it doesn’t interest you. Again, I’m not insulting anyone.
@MooseAP You sure have grown with all your tweets being the same old nonsense that you always said for years, especially with the most recent posts above that people directly told you were not true lmao
@Skippy well agree to disagree. You guys have always been super optimistic, after all. I didn’t disrespect you, so please don’t disrespect me. We shall see.
Btw, AmaLee’s version of New Genesis is up in music streaming apps (not YouTube yet tho) and it’s absolutely splendid. I hope it comes in the Blu-ray version of the film.
I agree it's AWESOME!!!
lol, the mack grew up into a moose. Bud, you've kind of burned your bridges here thanks to years of malicious trolling.

Great news, this! If he's working on it (plus Momo's VA's hint), I doubt there will be a slowdown. I so much expected one before WCI and before Wano, but it sounds like CR/Toei is serious about getting caught up, and I'm elated.
I've been seeing a ton of ads this week and am shocked that the film has such wide distribution (all of the chains in central texas have multiple showtimes on multiple days); I'm stoked they put big money into this, and I really hope it pays off. But yes, I'm admittedly nervous like Roman-Moose that it won't pay out, and that could hurt future big spends. But on the other hand, Toei could see the RED publicity as long-term: if the ads put OP in front-of-mind for people and that results in getting more people into OP, that's worth the ad-spend even if it doesn't immediately equate to box office tickets.
Here's the link to AmaLee's cover. I'm curious if she has an agreement with Toei to do this. She must, right? Because if she doesn't, this is going to disappear within the next week. In any case, it sounds great!
What do y'all think will happen when they catch up in the dub? Simulcast, or a new set every three to four months?

Look man, I’m not interested in any grudges from years ago. Quite frankly, I just focus on the posts of now not on your past. I’d say that’s probably what everyone should do. As it is right now, I’m being just as respectful as most and I’m conversating with y’all. If you’re not interested in what I post, that’s fine. But to get caught up on stuff that happened years ago when we’re currently talking on topic is just silly. That stuff is meaningless and doesn’t contribute to the subject at hand. So.. yeah. Let’s just wipe the slate clean, shake on it -
holds hand out
… and start over. :-)
When Clint says he's back this season, are we assuming he means Wano?
He means for the fall season he isn't writing any shows and is back to writing One Piece so yea
Awesome!!
And tomorrow's the big day, can't wait!
Got to the Soul Pocus musical episode, very beautifully done now if only someone could upload it so i can listen to it whenever :)
Since it was brought up in this thread earlier I would like to point out that there is indeed a full credits list for the dub after the Japanese credits. So I guess they still can't properly credit actors for the actual series, but these movies can apparently manage it.
Decided to see it first dubbed because I wanted to hear the voices, and man, it was more wild than I'd thought. The songs being left in Japanese was a little jarring but you get used to it after a while. Actually surprised at the somber note the movie ended on, but I really enjoyed it overall.
Besides me and my girlfriend, there was maybe 2 or 3 other people in the theater besides us. It was incredibly empty.
@Crystalice1 Empty, huh? Ugh… really hope that was just where you were and not indicative of its whole performance.
Glad you enjoyed it though.
@MooseAP I haven't seen it yet, I'm going to a matinee showing this afternoon. The theatre I am going to has reserved seating tho, and as of right now there's 12 people. The number might increase when the showing actually starts.

Oh sorry, I meant to quote the other guy who said it was empty. Not sure how I ended up quoting you.
Saw the movie, enjoyed it a fair bit! What I could hear of it at least, I swear I can always barely hear the dialogue when I watch these things in theaters.
Enjoyed how it was more story focused over action, which was a fairly nice change of pace after stampede. It uses this universes extended cast in really fun natural ways. By far Brandon Potters best performance as shanks, but that’s to be expected because it’s the first time he gets to do much at all lol. AmaLee was fantastic as Uta, which made it all the more frustrating the songs are left untouched. Genuinely I don’t care the whole licensing promotion stuff is stupid as hell it’s a dub you have a more than capable singer other dubs have covered them dub the selling point of this film.
As a note: Momonga was recast from Francis Henry to Kent Williams. I can’t find any info as to why, but it seems the former hasn’t really done anything recently aside from previous reprisals of him so probably just related to general availability.
I get that it was jarring and that the dub has covered other in-universe songs before but none of those songs have been as high-profile as Ado’s songs. Especially with her recently getting a record deal in America and j-pop being more popular in general nowadays, I see why they left it as is. Which is what I was wondering about when I talked to you back during Discord about it. I just had a feeling it would come to this. I don’t mind in the grand scheme of things though since Ado is amazing. But it would have been nice to hear Amalee as well. Maybe in the blu-ray.
Again, I know the reason. The reason is just stupid. It’s a dub. Dub it.
Eh, I can have it either way in this situation. It’s probably the right thing to do from a business perspective, which we’re of course not privy to.
I wish the songs were dubbed, but I also fully understand why they aren't. To look at it from another perspective - every song they have dubbed within the main series are performed by the voice actors, who generally are not musical artists creating songs. Ado's songs are likely more similar to the licensed music used in Openings and Endings, and as we all know, Funi/Crunchy stopped dubbing those long ago. Look to as recent an example as Luffy vs Sanji in Whole Cake, we have a dubbed version of Memories, but they opted to leave it as the original version.
In short, although Uta's songs are sung in character, they aren't the same as Big Mom's, Brook's, Tesoro's, Zephyr's, or any other character's songs. They are licensed music like the openings and endings, and not dubbing them is consistent with Funi/Crunchy's practices, as unfortunate and disappointing as that may be. For how France and Spain were able to dub them, idk, but seems to me like licensed music getting dubbed is just not something we will get here in English.
They used the japanese memories because it was a remix and/or full version of the track which hadn’t been dubbed. Whenever they just straight up reuse the track it’s the english version. That’s why in episode of east blue they use both. The first is a straight rip the other is like a remix group version thingy.
Once again you don’t have to explain the song thing to me. Trust me I understand. I just value products from a consumption perspective over a monetary one, I am well aware corporation’s don’t feel the same. We just went through this with the Mob Psycho situation, not to say that this is near the same level of egregiousness however.
