@Sano That explain everything
-
It would be wild if Egghead started premiering on TV instead of CR.
-
@Zephray that would certainly be something. Don't see it though. I guess they could continue the Dressrosa arc, then the following episode would be the "simuldub" Egghead episodes. Depending on how many they have recorded, they could have a 3 episode block.
-
The Official One Piece english youtube channel is up.
-
Whole lot of nothing, huh? They got Colleen to do a line for it, hah.
-
I’ve gotten more views than they have yet lol
-
You have to remember it's soft launch for the channel. We probably going to get more stuff on as it get more closer to the One Piece Day events near the end of July.
-
And maybe one million subscribers
-
I was hoping they'd drop an Egghead dub clip or at least announce the final Wano voyage for 6/11.
-
Man, yet another week without a set. This has gotta be the longest wait yet. I’ve just about run out of episodes with my rationing. :(
-
The Official Youtube Channel uploaded a bunch of dubbed "Next-Episode" previews, even for episodes that haven't been released yet
-
Here's the english dub preview of 1087 a.k.a Blackbeard vs. Koby vs. Hancock.

Weird. They have all of these up to episode 1088, and likely more coming because that was only uploaded an hour ago. Too bad the previews don't give any voices besides the narrator...
-
@Zephray It’s the same thing in the Japanese version. They don't wanna spoil some actors in case people wanna watch it blind
-
I know. I watch the sub, too. I'm just saying as far as preview clips go, these are near worthless to us dub watchers. Would rather have a scene with new character(s).
-
I wouldn't say this worthless. Since I'm one of those that like to rewatch the next episode previews multiple times. Plus it still be a couple years before all these episodes available on home video, so it nice have the english verison of these episodes preview available now.
-
@Sano I would rather they do this when Season 2 of the Netflix show comes out. That way, more people can get into One Piece, and the DVD and Blu-ray sales of the anime and manga copies could hit one million copies in America. We surpassed Naruto and Bleach as the most successful series in America. Boruto is struggling, and Bleach only regained popularity due to the anime revival. (I haven’t heard anything about manga sales increasing, but I’m sure we will hear about that soon.) This year, they could also show a trailer for the Wit Studio version of The One Piece anime reboot, getting us hyped for next year. The only thing we need is a boost so big that we can legally get the movies and OVAs from years ago finally dubbed in the States.

Well the sales for Bleach cant actually increase, the series is already over and all, the rest is pure gold and I agree.

Crunchyroll September releases are out. The only One Piece release in September is the new version of Collection 34 on September 10th. I'm skipping on that, since I already got Collection 34 with wrong disc art on the first 2 discs (Season 13, Voyage 4 disc art).
-
Hah, there was a misprint that got shipped to some people anyways. That's annoying. Trigun Stampede and Ranking of Kings announced, though; both great shows, only the latter of which I'll buy. My next buys outside of OP will be Chainsaw Man & Dead Dead Demon's Dedede Destruction, though; hopefully the latter comes with the movie cuts. Can't think of other shows that are worth buying now. Vinland Saga 2 Combo set; not buying these broken up season bs releases anymore.

So that's what went wrong!
I was wondering why the UK release got bumped from July to October. -
Yep, pretty much. It's just the first two discs have the Season 13, Voyage 4 disc art instead of the Collection 34 disc art. I just think it's funny that I got the more rare version of Collection 34.
-
Any bets on when the new set will drop?
-
It sucks that after all that One Piece fanfare in Vegas, we still not get anything about the final batch of Wano, i managed to stop myself at episode 1041 and waiting for the final batch to binge the rest of Wano, i didnt watch these episodes in Sub because i seen how the dub was catching up, so these will all be new to me
-
I wouldn't be surprised if they are waiting until July. Since that's when the final volume of Wano comes out in Japan on home video.
-
I would understand that if we were talking about a physical release here on the states, but it doesn’t make sense to me why a physical release in Japan would affect a dub digital release in the states. Japanese folks aren’t watching the dub.
Does anyone understand why it benefits Toei to not have the dub catch up to the subbed? Maybe because they expect fans to watch it twice & double their views this way, whereas if the dub caught up Americans would only watch once? Trying to figure out why they would specifically want to stay 30-40 episodes behind the sub even when they have the capability to catch up.
The physical release delay makes sense because of reverse importing & the astronomical pricing of Japanese blurays, but that doesn’t really have anything to do with streaming.
-
@Zephray Toei in a nutshell
-
@Nitwit What? That they try to milk everything for every possible penny by wanting viewers to potentially watch it once subbed and once dubbed, and they have a better chance of doing that if there's some distance between the two?
-

New set is out! Woot woot! Now begins the three week wait for streaming (I assume).
-
Finally. 14 episodes thankfully, but doesn’t have the special(s) (i forget if theres one or two left and I honestly dont care enough to look it up rn). I’m sure they’ll be included in the streaming release but I wonder how the physical release will work because I don’t think they could fit it on two DVDs. Not that it really effects me that much either way I’m just curious.
-
It's 12 episodes and 2 recap specials
-
Wano is over.. now we wait for a simuldub?
-
About freaking time, i wonder how long we will have to wait for the Egghead episodes , hopefully by the end of July since they are premiering the first two episodes on July 5th
-
Oh, look, it's a 12 episode set that ends Wano at 1085. Y'all better act more surprised about this, after all that discussion about the last set ending at 1073 being a production error.
-
Theres no need to be rude. Believe it or not I don’t take this that seriously, I just found it an odd thing and expressed my opinion, I’m wrong sometimes.
That being said, I still kinda feel this stemmed from a mistake. Simply because they didn’t have to go through the effort of having two different episode numbering classifications when they could’ve easily sinked them in the same amount of voyages.
-
Yeah, it’s odd that the season numbering will be different for those four episodes. But then again, check out the season layout on Netflix… Toei apparently doesn’t care about being consistent across all platforms & releases.
Personally, I don’t really mind if the buggy episode is the start of Egghead.
-
Apologies if my feelings of vindication seem rude to you. It's just that I feel that you were being completely dismissive of what to me was a very logical and probable explanation. You provided a theory, I provided a reasonable counter-theory, and instead of going "oh that's neat another possibility, huzzah expression of ideas", you kind of came across to me as like "you're wrong, that's not a valid possibility, how could you even suggest such a thing". It probably wasn't your intention, but all the pushback I got for even suggesting it made me feel like I was suggesting something dumb or unwarranted. I could see a version of events where my response felt the exact same way to you, which wasn't my intention and I apologize if it felt that way.
It really isn't that serious, I agree with that much. Which is precisely why I think it's okay to feel a tiny bit vindictive.
This season break lines up perfectly with the manga (as I said two months ago), so I'm not going to lose sleep over it. Bring on season 17!
-
I need to see dub Momonusuke say goodbye to the dub Straw Hats! DUB!
-
Eh, live and let go, mates. It could’ve been a mistake with the last voyage that they found a solution for this voyage. It could’ve been a decision from the start. Who knows what goes into their insane season break ideas. Again, check out the Netflix seasons if you want a real head scratcher. We’re all just speculating blindly on why it happened. But yes, they ended the voyage (and presumably season) for the DVDs at a different point than streaming ends it. Oh well.
Narratively, it makes sense either way, except for that annoying recap at the end. I tend to think an arc ends when they say goodbye to the island.
I think Blake’s note about how much can fit on a DVD might’ve also been crucial in their decision of not overstuffing the voyages at the end.
I’m excited to hear the new admiral. Anyone know who voices him yet?
-
Yeah if I did come across that way sorry, tone through text in all.
-
So basically the last 3 Wano episodes and the final Wano recap will be part of the first volume of Season 15. Okay that's understandable. I mean we had stranger Season break up before with Season 3 and Season 4 right in the middle of the G8 arc.
-
@Sano
It wasn't even the middle; only the final episode of G8 ended up not being in season 3. So odd. -
Season 14, Voyage 16 will be on crunchyroll on July 9th.
-
Ryukugu’s VA announced. Matthew David Rudd.

@midod Talk about a mistake. That was clearly a mistake when they were securing rights. Let’s not pretend Toei/Funi/CR are above mistakes. They’ve made dozens in the past decade with regards to OP. Anyone who’s been following on this forum knows that. So I’m more inclined to buy Blake’s “they screwed up” idea, but I’m not attached to it.

I’m definitely looking into this too much, but the phrasing “last full batch” is different from usual. Could they come out with a cheaper, short batch of three or four episodes before a full egghead set? That would be a true head scratcher, but I guess they did something similar with the Uta filler episodes, didn’t they?
-
One thing for sure, I'm really curious how they're going to handle the gold logo for opening 25. Since the opening have that tiny Luffy in Gear 5 running away in the logo at the end of the song.
-
@Zephray Sure but those were largely self contained tie in episodes so it made more sense, and they ended up im the full batch anyways. They’re referring to the wano arc over season 14, so they probably just mean the first few episodes of season 15 are still debatably wano.
-
@Sano They edited it so he goes between the letters, besides the eyes in the skull which they could easily just mask over. I imagine toei probably just has a green screen version of the animation for foreign releases.
