Chapter 819: Momonosuke, Heir of the Kouzuki Clan

I know last week people wondered why Robin wasn't being targeted more often by big players for Poneglyph deciphering and after learning what we did in last chapter it seemed obvious to me that was exactly why they were after Momonosuke and his men.

I see a female ninja in Kinemon's head! Those guys look just detailed enough to end up as real named characters that might have designs that are more or less finalized.

I teared up for Momo, I laughed at Law, but the best part was Luffy saying Sanji was worth a thousand people and Zoro not being able to let that stand, hahaha!

Those rebellion ninja could be the seven samurai! There's seven of them there lol female ninja looks hot.

Zoro part was actually the funniest thing this chapter loool "just so we're clear I'm worth twice what he's worth :("

Loool and nami petting him that was amazing. Jack is going to get wrecked.

For all the readers that have forgotten,when Wanda was describing what an absolute lunatic and ruthless guy Jack is,and how much he has ravaged this country,Oda has purposely shown Luffy and only Luffy to be hearing extra carefully her sorrowful memories.

That means that Luffy has taken a personal interest in this Jack guy,even before he was shown to us and the protagonist.

Take also into account that Luffy has fought every bigger threat in every stop from the start of the series,and you can probably guess who will fight Jack.

Part of this may come from the fact that we saw multiple Straw Hats do quite a lot at a young age despite/because of very similar circumstances.

Luffy was a cry baby at this age too, he was weak and always clinge to Ace and fail and cry, he needed time to getting stronger so Momo.

The point is, I'm sure Fujitora alone could defeat Jack, but it's much faster and easier if he did it with the help of Sengoku and Tsuru. Same here, Jack is too much of a big shot for Luffy to leave.

Even more if jack manages to wound the giant elephant bad.

And no, Zoro can't handle Jack. He is worth only 2000 fodders, Jack is worth at least 2000 born warriors minks.:ninja:

Luffy is aware of the trauma Jack caused, just like he aware of the trauma caused by Doula. In Dressrosa, Doula was the one making people suffer with his Parasite and Birdcage and to stop it, Luffy had to defeat him. He was the guy to be taken down in order to save the country, not Pica. Zoro defeating Pica did not change Dressrosa's situation.

Zoro being unchallenged means nothing. This fight is not about Zoro having to show his muscles.

Or, Zou' The moving island could use his trunk n' dump a huge amount of water and destroy all these ships at once.

Its been several days since whatever happened to him vs the Marines. A monster like him is not going to be weakened for that long.

I also don't see Kaido as a guy that will trade a poneglyph for the life of 1 of his comrades.

Jack caused a ton of damage when the Minks were at full strength. Now that they are weakened, I don't think Luffy would think otherwise even with his crew there. After all, Jack still has gas weapons.

Really, let's not ignore who's the person who's been reacting the most to the destruction Jack caused and building a big emotional connection with the Minks.

oda is also notoriously bad at predicting how much time it will take him to reach a part of the story..we had several examples of that over the years

Man, Momonosuke not only had his father killed but also his mother. Not to mention having the responsibility of being the heir of a great clan, and fulfilling his father's wishes of opening up the country. Also I am curious about this Shogun and what his full character is like, because he has to be a real dick from the sounds of it.

seems it was a good decision to wait for mangastream.
pretty good setting up chapter.this really solidifies what the wano arc will be about.It would appear that the goal of kinemon and co is to open wano's gates,which i'm guessing would be a parallel to japan opening it's gates.i don't really know much about japan's history,it seems it would be helpful to do some research.
i have to say,i was surprised by how luffy treated momo.Was really expecting something like Thriller bark where luffy's like"yeah no problem,we were going to beat him anyways".not saying it was wrong,it actually seemed weird to me that while all the others were requesting luffy for help, momo was just in the corner crying.although luffy was a bit harsh,but it seemed to have the desired effect.And boy,does momo's backstory look bad.pretty horrifying stuff for one piece.
also,i'm guessing that now the minks as a whole are going to be fighting at wano,wonder if the SH armada will come too.(they will,probably)
and that silhoutte of wano's fighters while kinemon is talking is pretty good,wano is looking pretty great!

That's what I use to call a test for imagination: try to imagine a believable way for that to happen. Here my try: Jack attacks Kunisha and when all of them see who is attacking Zou now, Luffy goes for Jack but Inu stops him and…

Again, it's not about just dealing with Jack, but protecting the Minks.

Sanji being away could break his crew, but hey, so could leaving his crew behind to take care of a Billion bounty threat that can use weapons of mass destruction.

How about just letting Luffy deal with present, urgent matters?

I don't think flashbacks has ever been a factor to Luffy raging and resolving to fight bosses. He's never been that empathetic when listening to stories. It was always when he's also experiencing the terror of that person himself and he's seeing friends suffering in the present.

Well, it looks like Jack is a very bad boss to his men and they seem to be very afraid of him. I can't blame Ginrummy for being scared to tell him the truth, since he's not an understanding person who can be reasoned with.

Because Luffy was the focus of the reactions. He was the one who saw Wanda and Carrot being sad about Jack.

hmm, after just two chapters i find myself wanting momo to join the crew after the wano arc, going after the knowledge his father couldn't pass down to him and such, he doesn't make me cringe anymore, so if his character gets developped further … why not ?

If you think Inu and Neko telling Luffy to go after Sanji because this fight is theirs is believable, then you should think Pekoms refusing to go for the same pretext ("this fight is also mine") is also believable.

Pekoms has a lot to lose with this fight, and he doesn't have the trust argument to motivate him to leave.

There's also the timing, if Oda wants, he could make Luffy leave with Pekomamushi before they even realize Jack's back. I can see it happening too.

Fanfiction is also literature, that doesn't make fandom dreams become cannon any sooner.

All the point stated are "open possibilities" yes but they don't align by the evidence presented by KingCannon and the facts presented to us as readers on the previous chapters.

I could sort of accept Zoro and the others Fighting Jack IF Luffy had gone away sooner. But with Luffy at ZOU at the moment? I don't see him just walking away from the fight, I'm sorry I just Don't. Its like Luffy suddenly deciding to entrust blod Lusted Rob Rucci to his crew while he went away to retrieve Robin. He didn't do that because even back then, he could sense the type of enemy Rucci was.

As far as bloodthirsty go, Jack is on the same level or worse, and he has personally inflicted pain and suffering to Luffy's friends… so as much as Luffy wish to go to Sanji ASAP I don't think he will just walk away from the fight.
There's only one week left to find out if we are wrong or not.

I wonder when the reader will get the flashback of when Inuarashi and Nekomamushi first started fighting. Carrot wasn't even alive…how long ago was that and how old is she? Pedro, Wanda, and probably Sicilian will play some roles in the flashback. Jack is right around the corner...probably after he is dealt with.

Did those Minkmen just say they were going to party and now wake up whenever they want!? Unity!
