Oh crap, you're right. I didn't notice the piercings in his ears.
He's strapped to a bed and his legs are bound. Probably an ancestor of his, one of the previous pillars.
Also, where's Inca? She must have also merged with an ancestor of hers.

This back to the past thing to view what happened makes me think of Blue Exorcist's current arc.
Raw is out.
! As I thought. I think we should learn not to overthink stuff too much.

so
! While he was in a stress induced coma someone decide that was a good idea to give him piercings?
How is this series compared to Soul Eater?
Also, was Soul Eater's end rushed? It just seemed to go really fast at the end

Manga ending or Anime ending? This series feels a little more odd to me than Soul Eater. Which is kinda impressive cause that whole premise was unusual. I don't like the characters in Fire Force as much as I did in Soul Eater. At least it took me a long time to either find them okay or slightly less annoying.

I meant the manga, I know the anime ended early but the manga seemed to move way to fast at the end also
And I also wasn’t a huge fan of how Kid and Black stars partners never became death scythes, although I understand why narrative wise, cause they made peace with the witches and stuff but I would have loved to see how they upgraded
I'm actually kinda digging this development.
This has to be Inca's doing. Rebellious teenager? Check. Dyed hair and piercings? Check. No self-restraint? Check. Complete callousness over the well-being of others? Check. Lack of empathy? Check, check and check.

So this is why they're called "doppelgangers". They are the antithesis of the original self. No wonder Iris is so gentle and caring, as opposed to her original counterpart.

Boy… Between this and the most recent raw things are going to heat up fast, no pun intended.

! Oh, of course sensei is stronger than Beni, and of course they will bring up his doppelganger
How little surprising

2nd season finally started, and it keeps the quality of the first, if not better. Some paneling reminded me of Bakemonogatari at times, and the coreography is superb.
Back to the manga, things are also getting heated there.
That said, I had to search through three pages to find the thread. Where are you people, hmm?
Nah I followed Beni's fight, didn't thought it was that great.
! Well, it's at least confirmed that the white clads are a death cult. And Adolla is the world of the projection of perceptions of their world, maybe the synchronized fusion of the two would be our world that Shinra saw.
Also dat foreshadowing with…
! Beni's doppelganger.
Not like we don't have quite the BIG clash ahead of us with Joker about to face off with Burns doppel.
Still, that last page at the end was the most interesting.
! Who's Shinra and Sho's father? Because of the lack of any mention about him I thought it didn't matter at first, but when we have already been introduced to Arthur or Maki's families, that absence becomes all the more glaring now.
I'm at a loss of words. Of all things this is the one I would have never seen coming even searching thoroughly.
But man, I love this stuff. The author takes his time to build up the plot, and there's nothing I like more than a good fleshed out story.
Where can I read this now that it's not on Jaiminsbox? I just realized I'm very behind.

Mangadex is your friend.
The girl nerd groups I'm in are gonna go crazy for this fight lol. They love Ogun.
Charon was already amazing, but now it turns out that he can create explosions with any sound, even cracking his neck!? This guy never ceases to amaze me.
Oh, and here's some quality Maki for you guys:
The euthanasia cult don't go well as villains for me.
The euthanasia cult don't go well as villains for me.
The real villains are Yona and Sumire, though, with the Evangelist as the greater-scope villain. Also Inca, coz her redeeming qualities are zero. The others are either just following orders, they are there for their own selfish gain (Giovanni), or devote themselves to other causes (Arrow, Charon).
I'm sticking to my belief that Haumea is going to end up sabotaging them. There are way too many hints the Evangelist irritates her.
Yeah I should reread the series because besides the arsonist thief I didn't recognize the names. This series didn't hit me as interesting as Soul Eater, even if Soul Eater ended with a whimp ending.
Monthly reminder that Charon deflected an attack that made a crater on the moon. RIP Ogun.
I know that the White clad have been preparing for 200 years, but the majority of them fells way to overpowered. That's the same issue I have with Bungo Stray Dogs.
Is not all fun seeing the main characters getting constantly beaten to suddenly manage to deliver a finisher blow.

So far the only case we have had of that was way early into the story, and by Arthur, no less. It was that fight of his against that sentient infernal where he was having a hard time… until he realized he was using his bad hand, then he ended the battle with one swing of his sword.
But if you look back, there's absolutely no instance where the heroes were being beaten senseless and made a sudden comeback and turned the tables, all the opposite, in fact. One particular instance had Shinra being outmatched against Charon himself. After he figured out how to counterattack Charon's kinetic absorption, Shinra dealt him a devastating blow that seemingly put Charon out of commission... only for him to bounce back in the next chapter and lariat Shinra so hard he made a backflip.
Okubo has gotten better with his writing and the story has been consisten so far, taking a straightforward direction with some occasional twists and slow but steadily building up the world and the plot. The art deserves no mention because it has always been unique and creative.
This manga has subverted my expectations in ways unimaginable.
I'm liking Ogun more and more. He's such a chill guy.
Ogun is amazing. More of him, please. He’d be a great protagonist in any series. I appreciate how he isn’t underutilized like Kirikou unfortunately was in Soul Eater.
At least Vulcan agrees with me.
I still can't understand their angle.
I still can't understand their angle.
Neither do I, but ain't that the intriguing part of it. At the very least we can conclue the White Clads are the equivalent to fanatics.
Where should I start reading the manga now that season 2 is over and season 3 isn't confirmed?

! Poor Yu.
! I will always appreciate the little things like the Honey Bee's Waggle Dance. Similar to how Dr. Stone educates me
! Some in the Enen community sleep on Vulcan and Licht for not being pyrokinetic. It would be boring if everyone was
This manga has greatly written villains.
! And Giovanni both for his cruelty and stubbornness is a testament of that. The cockroach is an insect beffiting of such a rotten individual who seemed very inhuman since his first presentation, and now his parasitic nature has evolved further and has become one with the Adola bugs. If he was human at some point, he certainly isn't anymore. He makes up for his lack of physical prowess with his cunning and manipulative actions. And now he has Vulcan cornered and put him in a predicament from which, regardless of what happens, nothing good will come out of it.
! What was that alien thing at the end?

! Dr. Giovanni unfortunately used a bug on poor Yu. Now he's an Inferno
