That felt so good.
NBA Season 2015-2016

That felt so good.
-
I know that the title should be the biggest priority for the Warriors yet I want them to break the record and take that title home. Unrealistic? Probably :/
-
Welp, the Warriors finally lost at home. To the Celtics, no less. The Celtics are a solid team though with a damned good coach so no need to panic. 82 games is a long ass time bound to take some lumps, especially towards the end of the road. This makes the two upcoming showdowns with the Spurs much more important for the the record because their cushion is gone.
-
Thomas I love you man, but after getting blocked at the end of regulation did you really think forcing an awkward shot in the paint at the end of the 1st OT would work? Too much hero ball; I'm sure Stevens wanted to choke the life out of Isaiah. Olynyk carried us for that whole period and was fairly open (in one of his favorite spots) at the end of the 1st OT. 40-50% chance the game would have been over right there.
Oh well, we'll beat their fully healthy squad in Oakland
! A guy can dream
Well they weren't fully healthy but I'll take it! We were without Crowder so let's call it a wash(even though it's not-Crowder is more important to the Celtics than Iggy and Ezeli combined for the Warriors)
Wins like this feel so good, I'm about to watch the game again. The 3rd seed was slipping away, but now we're only half a game back with tiebreakers over both Miami and Charlotte I believe. If the Celtics don't get the 3rd seed, I'd like the 6th seed just to be out of the Cavs' bracket.
People are singing praises for Stevens to be COY but I think it should go to Stotts. Many people's reasoning for COY feels like a backhanded compliment because teams are 'overachieving.' I hate that word lol. The team that fits that mold the most has to be the Blazers. Everyone had them in the cellar and they're somehow in striking distance of the 5th seed in the West.

True, but the Spurs are basically locked into the 2 seed at this point. There's a good chance Popovich doesn't even try to win those games. I expect him to rest starters for the Oracle game at the very least.
-
I mean more to the extent of chasing the record than actual seeding. Pretty much everyone except the bottom playoff seeds are now locked up where they are. 2-3 more losses for GSW and beating that oh so captivating 72-10 record is out the window. Plus the Spurs bench is solid, probably a low seed playoff team in the bench itself don't be so sure they can't surprise us.
-
Ruh Roh!!
Looks like the Warriors lost last night to the crap-tier Timberwolves in OT!! They'd have to win out to beat the 72-10 record, and they have two more meetings with the Spurs coming up until the playoffs. Seems like they're getting worn out chasing the 72-10. I think that regular season record isn't happening… :getlost:
-
Now the Celtics feel less special for breaking their home streak :P
My 71 win prediction could come true for the Warriors! I still hope they either break the record or come short. No ties allowed -
I was almost certain beating the Spurs at home would be impossible but will you look at that! Now the record is within their grasp and it's becoming more and more of a reality.
-
The Bulls are down big to the Seventy Fucking Sixers. This is the cherry on top to the shit flavored sundae that is this season. Lack of communication, inconsistent play from certain players, lack of mental toughness, etc. Of course there's no one reason why the Bulls had the season they did, but jesus fucking christ, where to even begin to fix this dysfunctional clusterfuck? Fire GarPax? Fire not Daniel Tosh? Blow up the roster? Hell, all of the above?
At least there's still the Blackhawks.
-
Pretty incredible night for basketball.
-
I have trouble conceiving of anyone taking 50 shots in a game.
-
Breaking the record with style. Beautiful. Gratz!
-
That was why I loved and shall continue to love Kobe. My favorite athlete of all time! Mamba Out!!
-
I recorded the Kobe game, still haven't gotten around to watching it yet. The Jazz must have found out that the Rockets won earlier that night(thus eliminating them from the playoffs) to let Kobe pour in that many points.
Time for series predictions. And may as well put my vote in for Golden State. They're healthy and finished the season on a high note obviously.
GS vs Houston: The Rockets are 32 games back. That's kind of absurd. I think they'll have 2 close games against the Warriors but will get swept. 4-0 Warriors
San Antonio vs Memphis: We ready for another 2011 upset?! Oh yeah, the Grizzlies roster is decimated. Another sweep. 4-0 Spurs
Oklahoma City vs Dallas: It'd be boring to predict 4 sweeps which I was initially leaning towards so I'll predict that this is the surprise series in the West with multiple tight games. Also I've never been a huge fan of OKC. 4-2 Thunder
L.A.
(Lakers)vs Portland: Most are predicting that this will be the closest series in the West but I think the Clippers will show the Blazers up big time. Another sweep. 4-0 ClippersCleveland vs Detroit: If there was a little more talent around Drummond, the Cavs would have no cake walk in this series. I'll probably watch a game or two, only because I have a feeling the Pistons will snag one. 4-1 Cavaliers
Toronto vs Indiana: The curse will continue for the Craptors. Another new franchise record for wins, another first round exit. Just kidding, they won't have to face Paul Pierce this time. 4-2 Raptors
Miami vs Charlotte: I'll catch a few games in this series too, because I haven't watched the Hornets at all this season. Let's see if they'll be just happy to be here lol. I wonder how they'll fare against the
refsMiami. I have no idea with this matchup, how about 4-2 Heat.Atlanta vs Boston: If only the Hawks won their last game. Then they would have been the 3rd seed and the Celtics would have gotten the 4th seed. But tiebreakers still take divisions into account so the Heat took the 3rd spot. Sigh…Atlanta is the better team and their defense has been the best since the All-Star break. Not a good sign for the Celtics inefficient offense... I'd much rather have played Miami or Charlotte in the first round but this is how the cookie crumbles. Still I got to give my team the edge over the Hawks and a date with the Cavs in May. 4-3 Celtics
-
What a series between Atlanta and Boston so far. I've watched every minute (good and bad) and my initial thought of Atlanta being the better team is unchanged. The Celtics have gotten many favorable calls the past 2 games and haven't had a convincing victory yet, unlike the Hawks did in Game 2. It's unfortunate Bradley went down and Olynyk has been banged up but depth is the Celtics' strength. As long as Thomas and Crowder are good to go, we have a chance. Crowder's offense has finally woken up; it'd be nice if it followed him to Atlanta on Tuesday. Stevens made a GREAT lineup change with Jerebko filling in for Sullinger. The Hawks don't have a real center on their squad with Splitter injured so Jerebko is never going to get that overwhelmed inside. Plus Jonas can actually shoot from outside unlike Sullinger. It'd be wonderful for Olynyk to magically get healthy and steal the rest of Sullinger's minutes but I digress.
It is still maddening whenever Turner and Smart shoot 3s in this series but that's unfortunately how some of the plays are run (obviously Bradley would be in their place shooting many of those) They've played well otherwise so I can't be too annoyed by the chucking. Thomas seems to have reached legitimate star status. Maybe it was the fact that Millsap poured in 45 but Thomas put up a quiet 28 points that will actually drop his scoring average for the series. He's been playing very well off the ball scoring and distributing. Thomas would've had more than 1 assist in Game 3 to go with those 42 points but Crowder clanked every open jumper lol.
If I'm an Atlanta fan right now, I'd be tearing my hair out every time Bazemore has more shot attempts than Horford. So they're all bald by now.
-
Ugh why'd they start half of the second round before the first was over?
6/8 on teams 1/8 on exact predictions in Round 1. In hindsight I probably should've guessed that more than 1 home team would clinch a series lol.
GS vs Portland: Well how this one started I think that Curry should be in no rush to come back. With how thoroughly the Blazers got beat I might've switch my prediction to a sweep but I'll stick with my initial thought of 4-1 Warriors San Antonio vs OKC: Another drubbing of a game that's making me rethink things. Do I think the Thunder have enough to win 3 games? Not anymore, but I'll stick with the conservative pick of 4-3 Spurs.
Cleveland vs Atlanta: The Cavaliers are better than ever. The Hawks are arguably worse than last year. Even though they swept the Hawks last year, 4-1 Cavs.
Toronto vs Miami: I admittedly wouldn't mind Lebron v Wade in the ECF but we never get what we want. The Raptors are going to play spoilers and they'll do it on the road. Other than the unfortunate untimely injuries this will be the surprise of the playoffs. 4-2 Raptors
-
I agree with everything but the Spurs-Thunder prediction. That first game was just way too one-sided. 4-1 Spurs.
-
Well that was a very entertaining doubleheader. Bizarre play at the end there, I've never seen anything like that. At least one ref should've been able to make the call though. Like Marv Albert said, it felt like it was around 5 seconds to make that inbounds pass so a ref should have been looking at Waiters. Either way, Pop didn't call a timeout and the Spurs played uncharacteristically panicky on that possession. They acted like they had a few less seconds than they actually did. Mills had more than enough time to fake in the face of that closeout.
Aldridge was out there doing an impression of 2003 Duncan with a 3-point shot. And Duncan just looked old out there tonight. Channeling the 2003 Robinson haha.
-
Curry is unreal.
-
Curry was off his game for most of that game though. He just got insanely hot at the end.
-
"Curry upgraded to questionable."
A few hours later, he just drops 40 including an NBA PLAYOFF RECORD 17 POINTS IN OVERTIME.
The rest of the NBA:
-
On paper and based on regular season performance, the Spurs were much, much better than OKC. OKC was a solid playoff team, but this year's Spurs were literally one of the best teams of all time. FiveThirtyEight spotted the Spurs a 70% chance of victory in Oklahoma tonight in spite of the two stunning losses in San Antonio.
This was an utter meltdown by the Spurs, amazing to behold. I don't think anything in the playoffs will top this amount of excitement.
Congratulations, OKC. If this is Durant's last season in Oklahoma, he sure is ending it on a high note.

I think PKC just realy steped it up with their defense, Kanter was able to make a big impact on offense and played above average defense, with OKC having the second best offense an upset wasnt that unthinkable
-
Felt like that round took forever.
Golden State vs Oklahoma City: This Thunder team is the best it's ever been. Durant is practically at 2014 level again, Westbrook's overall game has never been better, and the Thunder finally aren't starting Kendrick Perkins in a conference finals. As great as the Thunder duo is, this series depends almost entirely on the Thunder bigs rotation. If they keep dominating the boards and guard the pick and roll (looking at you Kanter) this could be a long series. The Warriors' weak spots are probably going to be Harrison Barnes and Speights(if he's played) if they find themselves matched up against Kanter or Ibaka. I'm expecting that both of those guys will get less run they normally do unless they magically grow a few inches. They just don't have the defensive chops of Green or size of Bogut/Ezeli. If I were Kerr, I would barely even use Barnes in this series. Just attach Iggy to Durant and play Barnes the other 12 minutes lol. I won't be surprised if this goes the distance but I'll make a long-shot pick of 4-1 Warriors. This series will throw defense out the window and the Thunder won't be able to keep up.
Cleveland vs practice squad from across the border: One team is healthy and firing on all cylinders, the other has quite a few players banged up and most of the healthy ones underperforming. Bring out the brooms. 4-0 Cavaliers
-
Woooo, dat upset tho. Let the drama commence. Stop making things interesting OKC :ninja:
-
I'm getting some serious 2011 Mavs vibes from this OKC team. I think being derailed by injuries the past couple years coupled with their frustration of being locked out of the championship conversation all year long thanks to the terrific play of SAS/GS is showing in KD and Westbrook. They look locked in and have been playing with a huge chip on their shoulders all playoffs long. Warriors are the defending champs and holder of the best RS record ever, but when you have 2 players on the other side who both are capable of being the best player on the court anything can happen. It will be interesting to watch how it plays out from here.
-
You know, I was fairly certain the Warriors would win the current series rather easily and meet the Cavs in the NBA finals. But as of now, things are looking anything but. #_#
-
The Warriors are done.. especially if Green gets suspended for his lazy ass move.
No seriously this needs to happen.. otherwise I will loose my faith in the NBA. Dahntay Jones got suspended for much much much much.. less than Green would beUpdate: Ok they decided to not suspend Green, just upgrade it to a flagrant 2.. WOW.. I'm so pissed right now at the NBA and that freaking Golden State superstar untouchable bonus!
They say the play was clearly different than what Dahntay Jones did! I mean.. seriously?? How could they make such a call now, 24 hours after a much less worse play than Greens.
I know it would be a series-altering decision but this is just such bullshit and clearly not fair at all.. -

-
Green is absolutely awful out there. They probably would have played better if he WAS suspended.
-
I guess Karma is a bitch
-
"Waaaaaah, I want my Finals rematch! Stop it OKC!"
Not mocking anyone there, that's basically what I've reduced to lol. This is shocking really. OKC keeps on proving us wrong throughout the postseason. Aaaaand I'll set myself up to be proven wrong again by making a crazy prediction. If the Thunder don't wrap this series up tomorrow, I have Golden State winning the series.
And
noyes offense to the Raptors, but I think it's even more of a shock that they've tied up the series vs the Cavs. There have been mentions that Dwane Casey was an assistant coach for the 2011 Mavs team. While very true, people are really grasping at straws -
Yeah, I don't see GS winning 3 games in a row in this series. They might win tonight, but that's about it.
-
It ain't over till the fat lady sings I guess. 3-2 Thunders
-
Boy oh boy, the 2nd half of this game 6 (GS VS OKC) is going to be bonkers. I can feel it in my soul.
-
Damn, can't believe the Warriors pulled that off. Klay was insane, 11 3's.
-
That was a game were OKC was simply unable to get away from the Warriors, which somehow managed to stay close, thanks to Thompson.
In the end GSW showed their spirit and managed to win this game, while now having home advantage.
OKC would deserve the final, but having a rematch Cavaliers vs Warriors is what iam hoping for. -
That was a very fun game to watch(if you wanted GS to win). Klay had one of the best back-to-the-wall playoff games ever, just making shots from everywhere. Curry's most impressive shot had to be that floater off the glass over Iblocka's long arm. Green was a monster on the boards. The box score says he has 12, but that doesn't do him justice. His box outs and deflecting balls to his teammates was impressive as hell, especially considering Kerr over-relying on their "death lineup." That lineup had been getting demolished by the Thunder so far because Green is the closest thing to a big man that the Warriors have on the court. But last night he basically single-handedly outworked any combo of Ibaka, Adams, Kanter that OKC threw out there. I doubt he can be that great in the middle again in Game 7.
Iguodala's perfect hands on defense at the end there was great to watch. Blocks are nice, but I think the most impressive thing you can do on defense is make your matchup look like they can't dribble. He just embarrassed Durant on a couple plays.
If you're supporting the Thunder, there is a bright side. Durant probably won't shoot that badly twice in a row. And I can't remember Klay ever having consecutive amazing games.
Who's ready for Memorial Day Game 7? This game is gonna have some crazy ratings.
-
Thompson broke a record for most 3's in a playoff games with 11 last night. Previous was 9. Just so yall know. He's the truth.
-
I freakin hate the Warriors so much. Hope LeBron is unstoppable (again) in the Finals - Cavs in 6
-
Coming back from 1-3 is mighty impressive, regardless of how sympathetic the bunch are.
I do agree about the Cavs though. First game's on Friday and I doubt the Warriors are feeling that fresh anymore while the Cavs were able to rest longer.
-
Golden State had better win, or I'm going to be down $50!!
In all honesty, GS in 6. The comeback against the Chokelohoma City Blunder (lol) was a feat of legends. Here are the matchups IMO
Curry > Kyrie (Easily)
Thompson > JR Smith (Both are streaky but Thompson's more reliable)
Andre Iggy < 'Bron (Barnes probably isn't starting 'cus he'd get wrecked but Lebron still holds a huge advantage)
Draymond "kick you in the nuts" Green > K-Love (Green is a dirty player and a dick but K-Love is overrated and kinda sucks IMO)
Bogut = Tristan Thompson (Pretty much equal)GS's bench is a tad better I suppose. If you watched any of the two regular season matchups, GS put a whopping on Cleveland so bad (twice) they literally fired their head coach. Unless Lebron goes absolutely bonkers each and every game and Kyrie and Love hit their shots while everyone else is rolling too, the Cavs don't stand a chance. That Thunder series just showed me that at anytime, 30-40 points could be dropped by Curry or Thompson with a barrage of threes at any time. I'm sure the Cavs could do the same but they are less consistent and they've been feasting on weak East competition all playoffs. Those two losses to the Raptors sealed the deal for me. GS in 5 or 6 and I'm $50 richer.
-
In a vacuum, the Cavs are a better team than the Thunder. But GS is going to be relieved not to be dealing with OKC's big men. On the other hand, LeBron is probably going to have one of the best series of his career. He's been living in the paint all playoffs and the Warriors haven't been too strong defending in there.
I'm ready for a great series. The Warriors have looked human and the Cavs are on the top of their game. The losses to Toronto were surprising but I don't want to take anything away from the Cavs' postseason. That being said, I think they could get punched in the mouth this series and recover too late. Warriors in 7.
-
Much respect to fellow Illinoisan Shaun Livingston. He played great last night.
-
the difference between the West and the East is just ridiculous I'm gonna throw up.. what a beatdown and letdown.
If you don't want a championship then just don't advance to the Finals fo fucks sake -
This could easily be a sweep. I think Lebron goes off one game and makes in 5.
But if the Cavs get the broom there's going to be some personnel changes in the offseason for sure.
-
the funny and pretty sad thing about all this is that the team felt better in last years Finals without Kyrie and Love..
Defense wins championships.. againI'm so furious right now
-
So how bad do the Warriors destroy the Cavs tonight after the Draymond suspension?
-

Apparently not that bad…
