DD was a pirate warlord and warlords work for the WG.
Fujitora with this act tries to prevent that Dressrosa hatred against DD changes in hatred against WG.
Bad english, I know :p

@Gol:
While I'm still leaning heavily on Akainu reprimanding Fujitora about this incident, I'm also starting to think of the possibility that he may not.
What if Akainu wants to be done with the Shichibukai system as well? He's a legitimate pirate-hater after all(His facial expression after burning Curiel of the Whitebeard pirates) and when the issue regarding Doflamingo and Law initially came to their attention, perhaps he purposefully sent Fujitora, instead of Green Bull or Kizaru(Who would have probably destroyed the whole of Dressrosa and Green Bit), because he was also a believer of the abolition of the Shichibukai system.
My assumption here is that Fuji, being quite vocal with Doflamingo regarding his dislike of the Shichibukai system due to it granting the members a position to abuse its privileges, told Akainu his thoughts about proposing the abolition of the alliance and the latter being open-minded about it. If he told it to a member of the organization he wants gone, he could have at least told it to his immediate superior since they are on the same team. Akainu, on the other hand, would probably agree since he's a pirate-hater through and through plus Jinbe did say that the former had managed to made the marines an "even more powerful entity of Justice" - what if possibly to the point that it would no longer require for the and the government to ally with strong pirates who'll end up just abusing the privileges granted?
However, since the Warlords are an idea of the Gorosei, being the pompous jerks they are, probably wouldn't be as receptive to disbanding the group that they've labeled as a balancing agent along with the marines to the emperors so the solution to that would be for Akainu to send one of his top guys, who is not a fan of the Warlord system, to a conflict involving a Warlord(And Dressrosa was the perfect arc since it involved two) and expose how flawed the system is to the entire world which Fuji did in this chapter. Given the WG's need to constantly save face, they'll be now forced to consider the possibility of disbanding the Warlords.
In essence, I'm speculating that Akainu, who was faced with the situation of two warlords gone rogue, probably thought and decided "Issho, since you're the guy who suggested outright to consider abolishing the Warlord system, I'm sending you to investigate the current situation. It may give you/us the perfect opportunity to explain to those geezers that we don't need to ally with strong and abusive pirates who'll just clown the system for their own personal gains".
Akainu is more than a pirate hater .
He hates people that go against the system which is what Fuji did .
Them being on the same team don't mean much since they don't have the same sense of justice .
Well about the blade theory… If it is true I'm really curious what it is.
What's that? Can you link me?
I'm still waiting for that guy(forgot your username) to say Doflamingo is still not finished, I wonder how he is going to twist it this week.
Re-posting from the spoiler thread… since we got some fried Burge(r)ss this week
Wow.. just wow.
Fuji kneeling. Worse (in the eyes WG) than Aokiji and Garp letting Luffy get away in Water 7.
Power shifts incoming.
Zeahahahah, I'm gonna fire that useless Burgess! Champion my ass…

Yes because losing to the revolutionaries number 2 makes him look bad.
Yes because losing to the revolutionaries number 2 makes him look bad.
Not only losing, overlosing.
Sabo is showing more signs of being a bit messed up in the head. No one should get that angry over a few words from an enemy. This is also very unlike Sabo as a kid, he was much more calm.
I think the guy has been through some pretty bad stuff.
Messed in the head? Do you remember when Ace gave everyone who tried to save him a big fuck you when he let mere "words" from Akainu about his old man get to him? Do you also recall in this chapter when Sabo says "I don't care, but Ace says he won't forgive you" yeah…connect the dots.
Not only losing, overlosing.
That happens a fair amount with them just look at the war or ID.
Not only losing, overlosing.
Blackbeard was about to over lose when Whitebeard dominated him even without his gura gura powers and Blackbeard begged for his life "I'm your son!" and he did this in front of his own crew, yet they didn't lose faith in him so I think Burgess will be made fun of but not disowned. I don't see Blackbeard taking things personal so he won't come after Sabo.
I remember being so pumped when Burgess first appeared in Dressrosa.
Great! We're probably gonna get to see the BB pirates one by one as we progress through The New World, giving them some solid panel time to flesh out their individual characters and strengthen their crew's rivalry with the SH's!
Nope.
Let's just make one of the members of the final villainous crew switch occupations from pirate to Sabo's personal punching bag.
I wonder which Blackbeard's credibility will be shot in the face next? Onward to the next arc!

Yes because losing to the revolutionaries number 2 makes him look bad.
When he's a commander of one of the most powerful pirate crews in the world, and doesn't land a single hit, yeah, it kind of does.
When he's a commander of one of the most powerful pirate crews in the world, and doesn't land a single hit, yeah, it kind of does.
He landed hits, Sabo had something in his face but BB back when capturing Ace told him and Van Augur they would both lose to Ace, together and told them to stop, I assume by now Sabo is as strong or stronger than Ace, Burgess is also stronger but I dont think its a stretch that Sabo is a lot stronger than him, if the revolutionaries don't have people this strong they would be pretty pathetic compared to the other powers(Shichibukai, Marines, Younkou).
Anyway yeah I didn't want it to look this easy either but I don't think this makes Burgess look that bad, he weaker than Sabo thats it, its not like he got beat by Buffalo or something.
I also assume that BB strongest crewmembers are Shillew and the ones he got from Level 6 anyway.
Let's put it this way…from people who were destined to become strawhats' ultimate villains, I would expect more than just sneaking around and wait good chances to stab people in the back. OK maybe opponents are stronger now but I would bet that Zoro, for example, would be a decent match for Doflamingo. Not expect him to win maybe but at least he could scratch his pretty bastard face quite well...
After mingo was taken down, remaining known shichibukai are friends of strawhat. What's wrong with Fujitora
Burgess was used to make sabo cool. Burgess can report to his captain that he at least made the colosseum walls shake and was able to jump down a few hundred meters from the kings plateau.
Even though it's true Law helped take down Doffy it'd be a shame, but very likely, that both captain are going to get equal credit for his demise, even though Luffy definitely contributed more to it.
Any chapter with Sabo is good, any chapter with Sabo kicking ass is great, any chapter with Sabo getting angry when someone teases him about his deceased brother, well, that's when it goes to another level. So Ace really said don't tell my younger brother? He had so much pride and I'm guessing he knew Luffy would come to his rescue if he found out and wanted to avoid that. That really got my eyes watering lol
After mingo was taken down, remaining known shichibukai are friends of strawhat. What's wrong with Fujitora
I imagine the "new guy", who is likely the guy who had a history with Admiral Z, is pretty damn sinister.
Have to admit, this chapter was awesome, even the title. It gave us a good view on Fujitora beliefs and Elizabelo is really a honorable man. Things are getting bigger in the New World with all this parties involved and The SH or at least half of them were at the center of attention. I have mentioned it before but now I'm starting to hate even JB fans(joking). I mean this guy is just a piece of the darkest smelliest shit I have ever seen, and is also very weak. I've always thought he would fight Franky but now I want Chopper to squish his brains with his monster point. First mate my ass. Sabo went soft on him, should have burned him to crisps.
Anyway I'm glad this arc has come to an end. Cant wait to see what the Alliance plans to do now.
Kuhahahaha is coming next week , let world reaction tour begin!!
Shitty Mangapanda translation, but overall the chapter was great. Fujitora bowing and apologizing for the world governments actions is gonna piss Akainu off, can't wait to see that reaction. Looks like new bounties are coming up soon, I can't wait to see the world react to the Law/Luffy pirate alliance taking down a warlord, especially Kidd's reaction. It looks like Luffy and Law are joined at the hip at this point, I think they stick together to take down a Yonko or butt heads with Kidd's alliance. Also can't wait until we get back to the rest of the crew and see what happened their. God I can't wait for the next chapter!! Only thing I didn't like was Sabo fodderizing Burgess, can this guy be any more of a Gary Stu? And he falls for the same name calling trick that Ace did with Akainu? He's practically a bonafide Ace insert at this point, I really don't like his character.
Is there anyone else doing translation?….mangapanda fucked up ad usual. Fire gun..really!!!!

If it wasn't for the whole birdcage thing and his lack of aerial ability I'd say he he'd have a great shot at beating Doffy but maybe he needs a Wano samurai to truly show him how to cut absolutely anything and everything.
if the revolutionaries don't have people this strong they would be pretty pathetic compared to the other powers(Shichibukai, Marines, Younkou).
Sabo is a top lieutenant for the Revolutionary army and Burgess is a top lieutenant for The Blackbeard Pirates.
So doesn't Burgess being apparently this sub-par in terms of strength make The Blackbeards look pathetic?
Anyway yeah I didn't want it to look this easy either but I don't think this makes Burgess look that bad, he weaker than Sabo thats it, its not like he got beat by Buffalo or something.
There's a difference between being beaten and being decimated by an opponent.
Sabo never looked like he was in the slightest bit of danger when he was fighting Burgess.
He doesn't just look like he's weaker than Sabo, he looked completely outclassed.
Which, at this point in the story, for a guy who's gonna be one of the final villains in the series, seriously diminishes him and his credibility.
I also assume that BB strongest crewmembers are Shillew and the ones he got fromLevel 6 anyway.
Regardless of who's marginally stronger than whoever else in the crew, none of the commanders (especially one who's specialty is fighting) should be getting trounced like this, this late in the game.
Why Fujitora translating his apologize ? Why is he showing to the world that pirates defeated the evil king who was under WG's protection ? Is he aiming to damage the WG's authority ?

There captain was trounced 2 years ago from a half dead WB.
All this means is Sabo is one of the stronger guys in the manga .
If Akainu did the same thing would also be saying that ?
They might be the final villains but they always going to be stronger guys in certain groups .
EDIT plus it's also easy for Oda to power him up later on by giving him a DF .

Yes, he is Ace. That much was obvious when he first used Hiken this arc. Akainu dishonored Whitebeard, Burgess dishonored Sabo's dead brother, it's quite the difference, emotionally speaking. So, when you say "falls for the same name calling" he's not falling for anything if Burgess hasn't stabbed him, he was blown away in an instant. Though if you don't like Sabo you probably didn't like Ace either and that's fair.

It's a tough pill to swallow for some people to see Sabo being this strong but the revolutionary army needed to show that they're a force to be reckoned with and if Burgess was shown to put up a fight against one of their strongest then the revolutionary army would be a joke, how can the most sought after man have weaklings as underlings? How can a direct opposition to the WG not have their own admiral-esque combatants? They wouldn't exactly be a "threat" if retarded pirates like Burgess were able to defeat them. I say retarded because this guy has shown zero intelligence this entire arc. The Justin Bieber of One Piece.

Sorry but the revolutionaries are pretty effective by being a bunch of strong secret agent like guys. They're there to overthrow the world governement..
Care to tell me why they need a flashy super strong commander? Most of their work in dressrosa was done by koala hack and the rest by the way.
Of course they need to be strong but they're by no means a joke if they.can't draw an admiral seriously. Was rob lucci admiral level to be successfull?

i think he wants to put the blame on the shichibukai system, in order to destroy it
It's like mangapanda used google translate or something because I din't understand a single word from what Fujitora said.
So, looks like marines take Doflamingo. Unless someone rescues him, but who?
Burgess would need rescue too :ninja:
Another short chapter I see. sigh
The only part i cared about is the part with Sabo and Burgess. The rest of the chapter was so-so, although I will admit that seeing Fujitora showing how honourable he truly is does make me like him more. :)
@NER:
What's that? Can you link me?
Forget it… My mistake it's bullshit
Still I want to know how Burgess wanted to take the Mera away...

You've answered your own question because, believe it or not, NO super secret espionage team will be taking down the WG without a bit of force, not in your lifetime, not in a hundred lifetimes. Also, I don't think someone like Hack who was defeated by Bartolomeo would have been successful on his own, without Mr. Flashypants. Much of their success, actually, comes down to God Ussop. But if he didn't get there Sabo would have uncovered the secret when he smashed the arena and went underground. Cipher Pol are WG minions, Revolutionary army are WG's biggest enemy. If you want you can compare Revolutionary army minions to the CP, your argument would be considerably more convincing.

recipe
1. Stick an apple in your pocket
2. Carefully remove the head from Sabo's body
3. Confirm the texture of your apple has turned swirly
4. Go home and eat
No?
Didn't like seeing Sabo dominate Burgess, I find Sabo pretty generic and boring.. Rest of the chapter was fine.

This opens the question why the marines don't simply kill ID prisoners with haxxed abilities to power themselves

Mihawk dominates everything, he hardly shows any emotion, he's actually rather dull come to think of it yet he's managed to make it all the way on to your profile pic. Hmm.. Maybe if Sabo was labeled as number 1 metal pipe user… :ninja:
Which person?
No one. The only blackmail Doffy had was the existence of said national treasure.
This opens the question why the marines don't simply kill ID prisoners with haxxed abilities to power themselves
How do we know they don't?
Perhaps there's always a fruit ready near the execution chair whenever it's time to execute an ability user. :ninja:
Like, whenever Croc's time was supposed to be up they'll fry him next to a basket of bananas.

Where was it at Ace execution. Maybe DoFla brought one with him… Evil bastard.
No seriously... Can't wait for Vegapunk and some explanations

There were clearly mangoes hidden in Sengoku's afro.
Damn, re-reading the chap I noticed how much fear the marines must have of Doffy to chain him that way. Even unconscious looks dangerous. A beast!

I feel like hugging you, fellow Burgess fan.
It was inevitable from the start that Sabo would in some way be stronger than Burgess. But for him to literally burn Burgess to a crisp without even breaking a sweat is discouraging to say the least. What I saw the latter show in the Colosseum made my hopes rise skyhigh but seeing him in such a pathetic state in such a short amount of time to boot… It's painful.
So what can we do to somehow justify it; to try explaining the humiliation suffered by the almighty 'champion' Burgess? Go ahead and assume that there's a LOT of room for improvement. Not only for Burgess but for the rest of the BB's as well assuming they too are on a similar level combat-wise.
Why is are people wondering that the top brass of the Revolutionary Army is so overpowered?? It's only logical if their leader is the mos dangerous man in the world( status and strength). After all look at the guys dragon has around( Ivankov might be ugly but with his powers he is nearly invincible and what about Kuma?? Is there anyone who can put that guy down?? He didn't even flinch at the sight of Kizaru. It's only natural that Sabo is that strong and Burgess is just crap so..
About Burgess the first thing I thought was: Hey, cool! Now he's gonna pull off that Devil Fruit stealing thing. Sure, it was said they killed their victims, but it wasn't said they necessarily have to kill. So maybe Burgess is going the cheaper way here. And in order for this to work, you have to lose your calm. Okay, I'm pumped up!
The second thought, however: Well, or he's just preparing a generic sneak attack.
And now? Any chance, that it will turn out as something not completely destroying the final villains' hype?

I'm not saying he's completely messed up, but he does those weird smirks from time to time. Also Oda focusing so much on him just absolutely raging. Personally I think there's something to it.
