Movie Nights is going to have to prove itself for Nami to deprive herself of sleep. And the only way for that to happen is Space Jam.
She did it once for Zardoz. :ninja:

No one should ever have to do that for Zardoz.
And by that I don't even mean losing sleep, I mean spending any time.

Blasphemy!
Oh, and on the topic of Zardoz…
(Flashing lights at beginning. Be warned.)
Skipping sleep, rofl
I'd like to nominate John Carpenter month.

I'm meh about Space Jam. I would like to rewatch it but there are other movies this week I'd rather watch.
Let's play nice, kids. Move back onto nominating Zardoz every week.
Let's do a Sean Connery month. :ninja:
Zardoz every night.
I was thinking, maybe once a month or once every two months during a random month, we can hold some sort of competition, some movie trivia or something. Winner gets to pick the movie. What do you think?

It would need to be live, IRC based trivia in order to prevent people from looking up the answers (they still could… but it's way more time sensitive). I like the idea though!
I was also thinking of doing some sort of "point system" for those that attend the live streams, but I'm not too sure what could be considered "fair" (I don't want people choosing movies based on this).

Remember when I was there watching Zardoz with you? Gimme my points!
So when does these movie watches start, were and what time (GMT timezone for me)?
Kinda interesting watch movies with arlong park.

What time is it there now, 11:55?
If so, 11PM your time on Saturday nights.

Thanks, I haven't been in the forum for some time so I'm out of the loop on some things, what will be the movie we will be watching?

Whichever movie wins the poll at the top of this page.
And then we vote for the next movie, and then the next one, and so on!

Ok.
looks at the poll… so many movies I don't know then again never was a big fan of watching movies. :P

One very obscure but well lauded* movie is Riki-oh. You should check it out!

You've never seen Space Jam?!
I said that didn't see many of these movies, not never seen any of these movies all. :P

Along with this, you also missed Zardoz last week. A true masterpiece.
Truly one that will mystify minds for generations

There are no generations. The penis is evil.

If I ever beat my laziness, I promise I will try to see this movie on my own.

I should have used this clip to sell it.
He has a lot of guts! HAHA!!! XD
If enough people are actually interested now, I'll switch up my nom for next week to Riki-Oh again. Or maybe I'll change my theme nom to grindhouse month, since I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who wants surrealist month, haha.

Yes, please do that. It has my vote.
As for the theme month, your call, haha.
See, if you'd nominated the movie with that clip, Wags, I would've actually voted for it.
"You got a lot of guts, Oscar!"
Line of the eternity.
Majora's EarthBound/10, would pun again

Well, then let's do this on both counts!
Dammit Wagomu, first we lose Gremlins and now you want to threaten Small Soldiers.
You are beginning to damage my calm.
Wait small soldiers is next week?
The perfect valentines movie
@Purple:

No, Wags will probably get more support for Rikki-Oh now, so forget that idea. :(

You've got a lot of guts, Valentine's Day

Riki-oh is THIS movie ? This brings me memories, my friends on high school showed this video to me while we were at the "computer class"…Good times.
But if we don´t do a thing now, this will become "AP watches weird movies" (nothing wrong with that).
Also, the dub..the dub is awesome.
As hilarious as that clip is I don't know about 2 weirdly funny movies in a row. I'm in a state of conflict. Small Soldiers is such a beloved childhood movie for me. Kind of reminds me of Indian in the Cupboard and Toy Story of course.
Then again, who knows if those movies are even going to be the frontrunners the week after next? It might come down between 2 completely different movies. It could be a renominated Tremors for all we know… ahem
Wow, I never knew people would actually vote for Beauty and the Beast, thanks for everyone who voted. But I think is basketball time, it´s slam time, it´s jam time.
Also, is a shame that Foodfight is losing.:ninja:

Space Jam is weirdly funny?

Oh no, I was talking about Riki-Oh. I completely forgot about Space Jam.

Space Jam would interrupt the "weirdly funny" we had last week from Zardoz though.
I see we're still going to see Space Jam….

I hate you all.

Yeah, I know. I completely forgot about Space Jam…
But hey, some people might consider Michael Jordan's acting as weirdly funny and it goes without saying not in a good way.
The acting in Zardoz was bad because of weird direction. The acting in Space Jam was bad because Michael Jordan is a bad actor.
@TLC:

At least in Space Jam, Michael Jordan is the ONLY Bad actor who is a major character.
Whereas Zardoz had one good actor who just didn't care and a bunch of… bad... all around.
How dare you criticize the brilliant acting of Sean Connery. In Zardoz, he subtly navigates the whole gamut of emotion from confused to bewildered.

The voice actor of Zardoz was pretty cool though.
Well, as long as the movies we watch aren't so insultingly bad we can make fun and have a good time, then it's all good. I don't think it has yet happened that a legitimately so bad it's bad movie has come close to winning. Food Fight being nominated is probably the closest we've come.
And yes, I refuse to acknowledge the room exists.
