If Im not mistaken the Railway is also conected to two other islands (cuisine and vacation was it?) Anyway I think the next island will be one of those two, even if only for a few chapters. Also I would like to see some Blackmarket action.

what might be interesting is a mazelike series of tunnels the crew must sail through at the Grand Line's halfway point (which, I presume, would be a portion of the Red Line directly opposite Reverse Mountain)

Since I theorise that they're living in a "fallen" world (it was once a higher tech level, but broken down and only some of the science has been recreated or re-activated), I could imagine a niche that didn't get "broken down"– perhaps where the escape pod of the rich and powerful crashed 500 years ago.
I desperately wanna see fishman island, just to learn more about them.
Perhaps a place really vested in the WG. All governments only work by the consent of some of the governed, someone must like 'em.
I see All Blue as the most likely "first crewman's dream hit". Everyone else's is a "best in the world" type goal (Zoro, Luffy, arguably Nami), or a "subjective and arguably never hit" one (Chopper, Usopp). It can be had without a struggle. Indeed, I can seriously imagine one or more of the crewmembers hitting their dreams "early" (before the clear end of the series) because otherwise you'd get a pretty lame "Oh, Luffy's on Raftel, we've only got 20 or 30 chapters left, better start closing everyone's stories off" end.

Isn't Water 7 a Man-Made Island? At one time, there may have been a small rock foundation that served as a starting point for the city, but now it's pretty much all layered buildings.

I have some doubts about a devil fruit island, i have a feeling devil fruits are man-made in the world of One Piece, for example, Doa Doa no Mi , a door isn't exactly something that naturally occurs

Like bounty1berry I've been thinking there'll be a secluded high-tech island, ever since I read Vivis comment about the islands on Little Garden. It'd also be awesome if they visited a ruin of such an island, complete with underground ruins.

Perhaps Sirens - although they just had sexy voices. Perhaps they could be turned into modern day ship wreckers, luring ship with their beautiful songs onto the rocks.

And assuming franky or paulie (I've heard rumors about both, dunno about anyone else) becomes the next crewmember, another female char would even things out… And considering Oda's style, I think a selection of sound-based moves woud fit right into Luffy's crew.

First off, the true power of whitebeard and shanks is still unknown. All we know is that they are strong, the governemnt sees them as a threat. We also are still in the dark to half of the SB's identity and powers. We can assume they are all very strong and therefore I assume it would be a good fight. I doubt we'll be seeing it happen but o well.

He said OP is halfway through in a SBS back at volume… 26? And that was the beginning of Skypiea. But honestly, at this rate I don't see the series wrapping up before hitting the margin of 60. Perhaps it will even go far over 70.

I read the Dragonball manga before reading One Piece… One Piece is huge in comparison. And with all the loose ends I think we've got much more to go.

In response to the massive pirate vs government battle, i had a similar vision a few weeks back while reading the boards. I imagined one of the final scenes of one piece, where Luffy's crew is racing from the huge army of marines (being the most wanted man in the world by this point) to get to the last island where the One Piece is held.
The strawhats can barely hold off their huge numbers, but then suddenly Shanks cuts down a wave of marines, throwing out some badass line like "Stay away. The pirate king has business to attend to."
As Shanks' boys swarm the marines, just about every other character Luffy's encountered starts pouring in (Buggy, Kreig, Kuro, Blackbeard, etc), either to back up Luffy or to try and get to him themselves and getting tangled in the marines. I dare you to imagine how much ass it would beat to see marines getting mowed down by the combined powers of everyone's old favorites?When GM demands to know what my character is doing, it better not be "The Charleston"

Yep. A couple of chapters more and we have enough for a volume 40. Just two volumes more then and One Piece is even in terms of manga volumes. But that´s not an in depth comparison because in the middle of the series DragonBall got repetative and lost it´s appeal, while One Piece still seems to amaze with new stuff. It already surpassed DBZ and has much more to come.

It too much has the "little kid that assembles all of his action figures for a battle royal" flair to me. Barely ever little kid came up with this idea in his/her childhood and it would be a very uncreative event to happen for One Piece.
I´m not saying that it won´t be BIG, but having each and everyone in there that Luffy encountered just somehow would destroy the flair of One Piece IMO.

I don´t think that this would be too far off. It´s definitely something that can fit with a pirate story. And just think of the situation when Sanji is landing on an island that is inhabited only by females (where´s the wolf smilie when you need it?).

That sort of fits with the filler in the Alabasta Arc, you know the bit where they fall underground and find ancient writings etc and nobody knowing or caring that it was there.
I could see something like that really really upsetting Robin - look how she got in Skypeia with the overgrown tree and the well.
Valkyries are a bit grim but the choosing the strongest slain warriors etc would be cool. The only problem is that there are no slain warriors in One Piece lolXD

I can see the crew reaching Elbaf soon, after Enies Lobby the two giants obviously decided they cannot stay on EL anymore and want to go home. The straw hats offer them to come along with them until they pass Elbaf. This could mean that they could be the next people to "join" the crew, like a Vivi and Carue type way.

If it ran aground, it could have eventually had a reef and silt build over it, so only tiny parts remain visible.
WWII ships are now enormous, viable coral reefs, same story for Pluton's wreckage.
