"Han Jee-Han, a normal high school student, suddenly develops a special power where his entire world is shifted into a game-like setting. He can see the power levels of people, look at the stats of a seemingly normal item, get abilities, and even level up! Follow Han Jee-Han as he discovers how to use this power, and maybe even where it came from." Basically what the description says. Guy finds out that he has an RPG game like ability in real life. XP, HP, MP, grinding etc, the usual stuff. I've always wanted to see this concept made into a manga (or manhwa in this case) and it looks really promising so far. Feel free to check it out.
The Gamer
-
-
Yeah, I was considering making a thread for this webtoon myself. The setting is pretty standard, but watching the MC level/skill grind is surprisingly entertaining. Definitely a promising start.
-
Yes, I think the same. Also his mom might be a boss or something lol.
-
Lol a Half Life panel in chapter 11.
Edit: and a YuYu Hakusho.
-
New chapter is out and he gained a title!
-
I always wanted to read a manga with this premise too, let's check it out.
-
Item drops are totally broken. The Gamer class needs some balance.
-
I wonder how these "instances" are created because he could just farm himself up to like lvl 50 in a few weeks.
-
Okay, so I decided to actually read this from the beginning.
When he was explaining Ki/mana/chakra in ch11, I noticed a small bit of text:
!
LOL It's Tower of God!! xD
Edit: And it looks like he's learning every skill he can get. Most games have level caps, so he shouldn't really be spending points on every single skill so early… unless there's no cap, so he's going to be the most OP son of a bitch ever.
-
The end of chapter 17, a game-changing revelation.
-
Picked this up when the new chapter came out, really fun ride so far, I'm in :D
-
Yep, tanking party system and such. It's like a real MMO!
-
picked this up today, i love it so far.
its funny, the art is good and the premise is really intruiging. will follow from now on -
like it a lot. wouldn't mind if things just kept up this slow pace of figuring out his abilities and grinding up. I really like these kinds of stories, of intelligent people making smart use of their strange situation.
-
Really enjoyable manhwa definitely more ppl should pick this up. Not sure if me being a former gamer made me gravitate towards this manhwa so much :P
Can't wait to see him become real op xD -
Okay…I almost didn't get my homework turned in on time from reading this lol. But I really like it. It's a much more interesting premise than kid transported into a game. And I call hax.
I'm wondering what was actually said because one tiny bit of text had his friend mutter Bear Grylls. But I didn't see anything said before that to cause that utterance.
Oh! I know. It reminds me of Scott Pilgrim.
-
Dammit a Naruto reference…...
-
So far this is the best fiction about gaming i've ever read,i hope they keep it up
-
As expected of a boss mob. ;hilarious;
-
With every new chapter, it is becoming more reassuring to me. If the trend of the ability he possesses continues, I want to see more of the weapon aspect to his ability. I need to see some Epic and Legendary weapons, with special abilities and astonishing stats.
-
All the game design stuff is about as cliche as it can get.
Yet despite that the story is quite enjoyable.
I wonder if the loot is actually created from thin air as opposed to just teleported from somewhere. Even though he says it's created from thin air it seems too broken to be true.

I'm enjoying the hell out of this.
-
The gender bender was as good as it gets…
-
I have enjoyed it since i started reading it!!!!
-
As long as this thing doesn't go all Girls of the Wild's (i.e. start sucking), I'll be sticking with it, because it's pretty damn great…
-
Hahaha, those side-stories were really good.
I like how the series doesn't take the game-real-life dynamic very seriously like in Log Horizon, Sword Art Online or many of the other anime/manga that are playing with the idea right now. This is a far more enjoyable way to examine real life as a game character.
I will say though that the plot is pretty weak right now. We basically know exactly nothing and the main character isn't really working towards anything other than increasing his stats. Though to be honest that is probably what I would do in that situation and it does give the comic the feel of a game when you are grinding without real purpose.
-
Good chapter, it's getting big
-
I don't know what else to say. I absolutely will follow this until I die.
-
This series is fun and make me feel nostalgic (about playing mmorpg of course : P )

Exactly. My favorite game is and always will be WoW. I don't play it anymore but still consider it my top. To many great experiences.

Was it your first?
Even though it wasn't a great game in terms of actual gameplay, I have so many great memories of FFXI :p
-
I have this in my Plan to read list, but I have no interest in mmorpg's of any jrpg for that matter. So will I still have a chance of enjoying it? Or is it all fan service for those who enjoy those types of games?

Well if you've played games and get the lingo and stuff from action and rpgs I think you could enjoy this if you like the elements to games with stats and whatnot.
-
Chapter is out. Multiple places so no need to link..heh
-
i'm beginning to love this manga.
-
He has grown pretty exponentially since the beginning of the manhwa, and I am glad he is gearing towards healing/magic. Gives him way more utility.
Of course with his healing level now I wonder if he could cure the curse completely soon, which would of course put both the summoner and his daughter in his debt, which would be quite beneficial. I am curious to know what Shin Sun-Il knows about Hwan Sung-Ah, and why he knows she transferred.
-
New chapter out if anyone cares. Very curious to find out who the rat is, or if that is an excuse.
-
I like the humor and the game references in this comic so far, but the story seems to be moving so slowly… I mean, how many weeks to we have to see redhead glaring at greyhair before we finally get a legitimate interaction?
-
Wait…is this series in danger of actually developing a plot?
-
I think it have plently interesting plots happening although not sure which to take as the main.
-
This manga is really good.

Such as…? At most there are random hints that there MIGHT be a plot

Do you mean that it bores you when you don't have a specific destination known? For how it's an open story with many possible plot developements, which is why I'm ilooking forward to in which way this story will lead. I guess this is what I mean by "plently interesting plots", because we're not sure which one of those leads we have seen so far will develop into the main direction of story.
-
it's almost like when you're starting an MMO and have all these options of what quests to take, or the main story to advance, but you just waste your time grinding and RPing with other players
wait
-
I'm not saying I'm not enjoying the ride (you can see that my previous posts about the series are positive), it's just that it'd be a LOT more interesting if there was also some sort of destination in mind. Am I not allowed to critique something that is somewhat good and hope that it can become better?
Because yeah, at some point mindless grinding is just that: mindless grinding.
-
If you want to look at it from a gamers perspective, assuming the series follows a gamers life start to finish. Most likely we will have an endgame boss, so as far as plot is concerned, you have that direction to look forward to :P.

-
hang tight, it would seem plot is about to start
