I haven't watched this latley.
4 hour special sounds like a good way to get back into it.

I am watching the May 3rd episode right now and laughing SO HARD at the segment where they have a chinpira (thug) asking 100 dads for their daughters' hand in marriage to see how many of them will agree to it. This guy is such a good actor… he is so obnoxiously hilarious!!
My girlfriend tells me this week's ToT (and last week's?? Two-parter?) is unbelievably funny. I won't spoil it but I hear it puts the infamous Japanese father in a rather awkward predicament.
um…..I tuned into the special tonight and at the end they announced that uh.....it was the last weekly trivia…....For reals...........
I feel empty inside.......seriously
quivering lip, teary eyes
C… Christmas is... c-c-cancelled???
Well son of a bitch. I noticed it hasn't been around latley, but this just sucks.
Boy this is one thread I have the extreme pleasure of pulling back from the grave.
It's back.
In a way. One new episode every 2 months. 2 hour special aired tonight and next episode will be in March.
Gotta say, it's DEFINITELY better than nothing that's for damn sure. I was freaking in tears I was so happy to have it back.
Great Fucking News!
I was planning on bumping this to ask what was going on, but my question has already been answered.
Thank you for this news.
Sorry for the double post, but you'll forgive me.
For those who haven't seen it, you will enjoy much of it but the last 30min may not make sense unless you're a Japanese movie buff.
Basically in 1997 there was a drama called Odoru Daisousassen (English title: Bayside Shakedown) that launched one of the most successful film/TV franchises in Japan.
A wikipedia check will give you all the details but basically it's presently become popular for spin-off drama series. Two feature films were made as spin-offs for characters from the original films and TV series while these then spawned yet two more TV spin-off dramas based on characters that appeared in those films.
Crazy.
So someone asked how far the creator could continue to make spin-offs. His response:
"As long as they had lines, I'm confident I can create a spin-off"
And then, they went ahead and did it with a character that had only one line:
Trivia's own co-host Takahashi.
They made a 10 minute spin-off based on his character description in the official guide which actually occurs during the events of the first spin-off film.
So that's what's happening for the last 30 minutes of the show.
phew.
I just finished watching it. I think the bow and arrow guy on the rollercoaster was the highlight for me. And where do I know the music from where when they were cooking something… one popped off the grill, and then they played it in slow-mo with a song. Where the fuck have I heard the song... it is starting to bother me.
Kotoba ni Dekinai
I may very well have posted a link to the commercials that played with it a long time ago. Only time I ever cried from a commercial.
OK, I'll have to look up that song.
Also… what music was played as the bow and arrow guy was riding whatever up to the point where he shot at the target.
Love to send it to you but it's on my comp in the States.
Dunno the other song. My guess would be from a famous period drama.
I just remembered where I heard Kotoba ni Dekinai before!
This proves how much a loser I am….
episode 26 of Sonic X... it was an insert song...
Oh that's right. It was in there wasn't it. Weirdass choice for a Sonic animation.
I think they had a couple of songs from Off Course in the series.
