Metal Gear : not really.
Metal Gear Solid V: Survive is some real far waters exploitation

Metal Gear : not really.
-
Wait, didn't Konami pull the plug on this series for Pachinko?
-
I don't really see the problem here to be honest. It's Metal Gear survive, a spin-off game just like Metal Gear rising was. It's not taking place in the same story or universe as the main games. I rather have Konami do their own thing then mess with Kojima's vision after MGSV.
Plus some of the fans were asking for a fox-engine coop and now we are getting exactly that.

The problem people are having is that it looks BORING! In a world filled with nanomachines, vocal chord parasites, psychics, clones and giant nuclear robots, they think bringing in zombies is a good idea.
And despite what some people say about Rising, it never felt boring to me. Not with moments like this:

But it's not a main game nor takes place in the same universe. And of course all that is just a backbone for the real meat which is a coop survival horror. If you played Peace Walker coop, then you know that at the bare minimum the gameplay concept could be interesting.
Of course Konami using the Metal Gear title in this case is just dumb as all hell.

I think you hit the nail right on the head there.

But it's not really unexpected considering that MG is their best selling game right now.

They wouldn't need to given that could still make games with the IP while making Pachinko or Pachislot games like they did with Castlevania.

Me irl:

Whether it's boring or just a spin off, people are just too bitter over what Konami is done, and I don't blame them. It'll be rough for the people actually working on Survive, but what can you do…

It's particularly bizarre though given that some of these same people were the ones throwing Kojima under the bus a few months ago. For everything from booting David Hayter to that twist ending in Phantom Pain. It's also intresting that these people see this game as being more of an affront to the series legacy than the NES port to Metal Gear or Snake's Revenge.

I don't think it has THAT MUCH to do with Kojima. It's much more how much Konami has basically shut down and stopped giving a shit about making many video games, and that Metal Gear Survive seems more like a scrap of meat at the bottom of the barrel that will momentarily shut us up.
That said, most of the anger against Kojima had turned around to Konami because Kojima basically came out and said, "Konami was being a pain in my ass the entire time I worked on Phantom Pain". Whether Kojima is at fault or not, all blame for Phantom Pain has basically shifted toward Konami. And David Hayter has become more disliked because of the rampage he had on Twitter.

Lol I don't know why I'm not surprised.

Remember the times when Hayter used to talk about how big of a MGS and Kojima fan he was? And then MGSV stuff happened and suddenly he was like "man fuck that Kojima" ? Or when he was acting like a child over not being in MGSV and trying to be seen as this victim only to reveal himself that he was never the primary actor for the games, and only got picked because they had no one until they found Kiefer and fired his egotistical ass? It's really no wonder why not that many people really give any shits about him anymore. Except his shitty fanbase.

Wow, I never knew about this until now. It's crazy how one little thing can change a person.
-
I legit didn't know about that until Insider pointed it out I just knew about the hurt feelings from fans of his being replaced.
Then again I really didn't care about his being replaced in the first place.

I feel bad
that he can't see how he's a completely terrible fit for the scene where Venom spreads the ashes over his face

I don't even hear of him having a fanbase or anything like that. I mean, I think there are still people who think "Hayter voiced Snake > Kiefer voiced Snake". And I do kind of agree with that sentiment but:
a) No one can voice one character forever. There are always variations, and changes aren't always bad. (Keifer did good)
b) If Solid Snake or Naked Snake are ever brought back (which is unlikely and/or not going to happen for a long time), there will be Sonic Boom level changes. If any Snake is ever brought back into existence, he will not be voiced by Hayter or Keifer.

Wait what? I thought Sutherland was picked because Hayter was getting tired of the role….wasn't the live action opening of MGS4 supposed to poke fun at this?
Also, Matthewmatosis analyis on MGSV when?

Nah Hayter didn't get tired of the role and in fact wanted to play it in MGSV. But then he found out they made MGSV without really contacting him or hiring Kiefer without letting him know first. He was pretty insulted by that and then his childish acts started on twitters, and then got worst when he got interviewed by Yongyea's group three or four times.
Not sure but
(graphic real war footage from 19:21 to 20:30) and analysis videos are really good. Probably the best video-analysis i have seen of TPP.–- Update From New Post Merge ---

I am a regular member of the biggest MGS facebook group and reddit, and trust me Hayter has a pretty big following in these places. And there are plenty of discussions where Kiefer got bashed (before the game release) for simply replacing Hayter.
Of course after what he said about Kojima made lot of people simply forget about him. But i occasionally do see Hayter discussions but not close to the level before the release of the game.

Haha yep i pretty much used that example when people were saying of Hayter could have been in the game.

Well that sucks. Why fix what wasn't broken?
The closest example I can think of was when Sonic Team replaced the game actors with the 4kids actors when Sonic X came on the scene (Ryan Drummond said he would've reprised the role if asked IIRC)

lol if you don't think that the sheer hilarity of that scene wouldn't be improved by Venom muttering "…ashes, huh?"

Huey: "They were on your side! I'm on your side!"

@Purple:
Huey: "They were on your side! I'm on your side!"
Venom-Hayter: "sides?""Sides? There are no sides on the battlefield! A soldier doesn't have a 'side'!"
"…but Snake -"
"SHUT UP HUEY!"
Venom clocks Huey and runs away crying

Because what existed before wasn't that great and sounded the exact same when playing two different characters.

Rapidly accelerated aged old snake sounds p much the same as a soldier in his 30s
Meanwhile, Liquid and Solidus question why their voices are completely different

If fully believe that the accelerated aging story was just a cover for a hair dye job that went bad and David doesn't want to admit it.

Look, we can't have a president who just responds to every bit of information he gets by repeating what he was just told. That's like the first thing Zero told Para-Medic to cut out of George's DNA.
