@Robby:
I like the lore and the world just fine. I've played all three games multiple times. HAd different companions every run, roleplayed very different characters to get very different results.
I just don't like the elves.
Yeah and that's fine, I am saying the dislike is clouding judgement on your part to see things from their POV as well as get why they are a big deal with the lore. If the next game has any sense, it's gonna be the biggest elf focused game based off the cliffhangers from the last one. Don't you think if that's the case as it likely will be, an elf run might not be a bad idea? Just to see if you have changed your mind.
Because I LIKE werewolves. "Saving" them by turning them back into elves? So they can go back and mingle with the people that messed them up and tried to kill them and were totally unapologetic about it and kept a corrupt asshole leader for ages? Screw that. Kill the elves that did it to them in the first place and lead an army of badass wolves to fight the darkspawn
Already been corrected that they were humans. But they were humans who tortured and murdered Zathrian's young son and raped his daughter and left her for dead…. and with child. Which lead to her suicide due to the shame. Every elf matters here, they do not have the numbers that they used to have. Because humans keep doing this. Or putting the elves in as second class people, forcing their religion on them.
It sucks that they have their curse stuck on them but you're thinking of them as just cool werewolves instead of what they were and how they got into this in the first place. Zathrian fucked up in a fit of revenge and so the right thing is to kill all the elves, men, women and if Bioware could have went there, children? Nah that's pretty awful. Especially since the Dalish clan had no idea their Keeper did any of this?
Instead they view him as an ageless elf who has been dealt great sorrow by humans. And the ageless thing is a big deal too but again that gets into lore. Here I am just saying they had no clue he did any of this nor would have any reason to think of him as corrupt when he comes off as the perfect Keeper. Again if you understand the lore and can remember the details of Nature of the Beast. They don't know why there are werewolves and why they are attacking the clan. Revenge for revenge. Endless blood shed started by humans and then made endless by a revenge bound grief stricken father and powerful mage. Only one at fault at this point is him and he can be dealt with in a way that doesn't make you do racist genocidal deeds.
Yeah a werewolf army (which sucks for them as they want to die) is great and metal as fuck but you're making a very good case why elves have every right to be assholes to you.
