Star Wars: The Clone Wars

This week's episode and this entire story arc have been amazing @_@

I'm really interested in what will happen with Darth Maul in the future. Having Darth Sidious show up in person was really cool. The lightsaber fight was amazing. I loved Maul using the black saber.

Though I wasn't particularly attached to Satine it was sad to see her die with how much she means to Obi-Wan.

The brothers Maul and Savage always seemed so menacing. Having one of the duo killed and the other cower in fear of Sidious really shows the depth of his power and manipulation. Even though Maul begged for mercy, as is typical of the Sith, I feel like his plotting against Palpatine isn't over yet.

I suppose we'll have to wait until season 6 to see the fallout of this story arc. Next week starts the 4 episode Ahsoka-centered arc. It seems there were at least 3 episodes in the Clovis arc as well. I do wonder then, what happened to the 4 episodes that were bumped from season 5 to make room for the Young Jedi arc. I'm not complaining since I loved Young Jedi, but I guess we'll end this year on the Clovis arc? Or could they just extend the season to 26 episodes?

We know that as of September 2011 they had already written through the end of season 6. I just watched the Kadavo / Zygeria commentary on the bluray. In it Dave Filoni mentions desert armor for the Wolf Pack that will appear in some season in the future.

I really get the sense the show will continue at least until season 7. We know officially it'll be at least 6 seasons. I could see it going even longer...8 seasons maybe?

With how awesome the show has become, I'd love to see it keep going for as long as Dave Filoni is willing to keep working on the show.

All I can say is WOW! That was an amazing finale!

I mean I had kind of thought for some time Ahsoka would leave the Jedi Order. I think the seeds have been sown for her to help start the Rebel Alliance in some way. Given that those scenes were cut from RotS I hope the latter seasons of Clone Wars deal with Padme, Mon Mothma, and Bail Organa working to start the alliance along with Lux Bonteri (Onderon Rebels use a symbol which is part of the one used by the Rebel Alliance).

Ahoska has become one of, if not my favorite character in Star Wars. Her journey to this point has been amazing to watch and the possibilities for now are really opened up.

Clone Wars is amazing. There are so many interesting and unique characters on this show who I not only want to see more of in coming seasons, but also in the greater Star Wars universe. Give me Asajj Ventress, Cad bane, Hondo, and Boba Fett in the live action series between III and IV….and I'm VERY interested in Ahsoka's journey from this point forward.

Wouldn't it be something for Luke, the son of her former master, to find Ahsoka and restore her to the new Jedi Order, free from the corruption that has overtaken the current order.

The voice acting was amazing, the score was perfect, and that final scene was really emotional. This show couldn't do a better job of masterfully dealing with all the underlying themes that bring about the events of Revenge of the Sith. I feel like this arc reallyu helps explain Anakin's mistrust of the Jedi Order, particularly Mace Windu.

I can't wait to see more Star Wars! Rex, Darth Maul, Ahsoka, Hondo, Cad Bane, and Asajj Ventress will hopefully play a big role in the series future!

Heck yeah, awesome season finale. So what now? I've heard rumors of the series ending, and then statements saying it's not. I guess without Ahsoka, they can really show Anakin taking a turn for the worse, which through most of the series I really haven't seen a clear path how this generally benevolent dude turns into Vader.

She always had to get written out somehow or else she'd be subject to the jedi assassination spree in the third movie.

I figure they'll let it be mystery as to what her final fate is. A lot can happen in all that time. They may have her die valiantly at some point before the series ends, but then, it's not unthinkable that she survived in exile like Yoda did.

Not so much confirmed as much as everybody just expects it to happen that way.

It's the third/fourth highest rated show on Cartoon Network if I recall correctly since it trades spots back and fourth with Young Justice.

Season 6 is on its way as planned.

I think we've started seeing for sometime Anakin's eventual turn to the dark side. Last season, when Obi Wan went undercover as that criminal guy, leading Anakin to believe he was in fact dead….his distrust of the Jedi at times is there to be seen...

It was kinda strange they changed up Barris' fate like that from her dying in Episode 3 ( the Novelization covered that ) to her being a traitor......kinda wish they hadn't given we've seen quite a bit of her in the past, and maybe its just me, but I would have liked a reaction from her Master Luminara regarding her apprentice's fall like this.....

In any case, it was a pretty amazing season finale though.

Lucasfilm announced today that Star Wars: The Clone Wars is ending and that a new series is in development. The company also states that the proposed Star Wars Detours will be pushed back. Here's the statement:

As we enter into an exciting new era focused on the next Star Wars trilogy, Lucasfilm has decided to pursue a new direction in animated programming. We are exploring a whole new Star Wars series set in a time period previously untouched in Star Wars films or television programming. You can expect more details in the months to come.

As part of this shift, we have also made some key decisions affecting Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Detours.

After five highly successful and critically acclaimed seasons of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, we feel the time has come to wind down the series. While the studio is no longer producing new episodes for Cartoon Network, we're continuing production on new Clone Wars story arcs that promise to be some of the most thrilling adventures ever seen. At Star Wars Celebration VI last year, George Lucas gave fans a glimpse at the animated comedy series Star Wars Detours from Seth Green, Matthew Senreich, and Todd Grimes. Detours was conceived and produced before we decided to move forward with the new Star Wars trilogy, and in the wake of that decision, Lucasfilm has reconsidered whether launching an animated comedy prior to the launch of Episode VII makes sense. As a result, we've decided to postpone the release of Detours until a later date.

Not really sure how much more content we'll get or where - it says they've still got a lot of story to tell to wrap it up, but I don't know if it'll be a full season or if they'll wind it down into just a few mini specials/movies.
Hm, wonder what era they're going for….considering the context of the new movies, I'm guessing it'll be in the future, but who knows.

Dave Filoni did say they have stuff in progress for a season 6, so I'm hoping they'll be winding things down with that. I'll be really pissed off big time if they do not complete it.

I'd love for a series set in the Old Republic era - like how they've done the Clone Wars for this, they could cover the Galactic Civil war between the Sith Empire & Republic which took place prior to the events of SW:TOR. Plenty of Jedi & Sith Lords…or just anything set in the Old Republic era...would be nice.
