@pariston_hill:
Dramatic conflict originated from ideological principals not always end being made on the racional path of actions. He thought his dead would be enough to please Estael, to bad that his older sociopath brother grew him into a sadist. And that absorbing multiple commandments it's not mixing well with goddess dna.
About the ending, it goes well into the three hundred chapters arcs, first was against Hendy, second against the Commandments, the final probably against Estael and/or Ludo's true plan and some DK shenanigans.
I think the sadist part only/maybe applies to demons, he was clearly distraught by the memories of killing innocents and generally members of Stigma, plus Sariel and Tarmiel both confirmed that he was a gentle soul.
Not trying to say that he was justified in everything he has done so far, but I would say that he got fucked over harder than anyone else, including Mel and Eli. After 3000 years of brainwashing, including slaughtering goddesses and innocents, hating his own family, friends and people, while looking up to his most hated enemy, his soul and mind getting eroded by Love, he finally awakens, only to witness that two of his closest friends/comrades are working together with the guy responsible for everything, all in order to "save him".
I really liked the Estarossa/Mael twist, but as with some other things in this series, I think there are a lot of missed opportunities, or where parts should have been fleshed out.
Even though it was a major twist, in the end it's still "partially insane wildcard Estarossa going around killing demons, trying to kill AAs, collecting commandments and trying to get Eli" now "batshit insane wildcard Mael going around killing demons, trying to kill AAs, collecting commandments and trying to get Eli".
Latest chapter is out on Mangastream, but some of the speech bubbles are messed up, lets wait for a better translation.
edit: chapter fixed
