At least in this case, the theory about the Godess clan being the big bads has been around for a while. It's not like it has no build up whatsoever, but it's gonna be hard to swallow when there is this much of a power gap now against the demons already (assuming the godesses are stronger).
Not really sure I like the commandments being taken out so easily. Mel said earlier that if he tried to take both of them head on he would lose, but here he is, killing both of them. Granted it was more like 1 at a time, when 1 went down Dolor immediately uses his attack, but apparently it did nothing to Meliodas. The strongest giant, buffed by the Demon King, is nothing to Meliodas.
Jobbers. Did we even get to know their curses?
Do we even know if they were at full power? Did they eat their fill of souls? I mean I just cant imagine a 2 full power demons getting their shit wrecked by Meliodas. Heck even that soul chick told Galan that if he had full power it would have been a different outcome when he got embarassed by Meliodas.
The next chapter is called Darkness Descends, but I guess that won't have anything to do with these 2 demons, since the author himself stated that they lost
The goddeses wanted Meliodas dead for reasons yet not known and urged Ban to kill him if he wanted Elaine back.
Now that is no longer among the possibilities, but is a good thing to remember how it happened.
I bet Gloxinia's curse will force Meliodas out of this battle, as it has something to with resting.

Yes, I'm intrigued for that too. What "way" Meliodas is talking about? Who betrayed Gloxinia? Who crushed Dolor's pride? and why, after being betrayed or hurt they decided to join the Demon King forces? … .... Did I have talked about the theory that the goddesses are not good but evil? ... Mel's backstory is needing to be a volume long becuse we know very little about him, besides his foundness to groping Liz/Elizabeth. To this point in the story we know basically this:

He fought alongside Golx and Dolor before the latter two becoming commandments.
He fought alongside humans, fairies, giants and goddess.

Merlin doesn't as far as we know.One of my biggest regrets is not seeing straight spend 50 years training like nothing because of how demons and them have different lifespan and screw up sense of time. Only time it was used was the aging dude Diana and King met.

Well Merlin race and age has ? marks in the fanbook. Not to mention the Sins have a Demon,Giant,Fairy and human so that's 4 of the major races. So that's leaves the goddess clan and Merlin is the Sin who's race is unknown so I be surprised if she wasn't a goddess. The reason why I think Merlin a fallen goddess is because there power should be on par with Ten Commandments. Otherwise the Demons would've won the holy war judging how easily Mel took out the strongest giant and fairy.

The sins were created by the king Bartras at some moment between Ban inprisonment (like 20 years ago) and Ban's rescue by Meliodas (16 years ago). Other thing is how long they have known each other. Sure thing Merlin and Meliodas met for the first time long time ago before the sins creation.
Poor Mel, no one knowledgeable cares about him.

So I guess it is what you call "back to square one" except Meliodas is alone.
The start of deliver Meliodas princess arc ? It's hard to guess what Nakaba has in mind. Each chapter he breaks the rules we supposed he had set.

How is that so? I see he breaks the rules about power level, which is anoying some of the times. But what do you have in mind?
There are some interesting hints on the major plot: Meliodas could claim the demon king seat, maybe as well as Estarrosa and Zeldris. But only if he gives up his association with humans.
Also Gloxinia says Meliodas is sentimental, and he later says Dolor and Gloxinia has changed suffering and pain "that" much. So I guess Gloxinia and Dolor once were figthing to save humans and other races; but somehow they were converted to the dark side somehow. Whatever caused that convertion likely is related to Meliodas betrayal to the demon clan…
Anyway, why to convert to the dark side once you have suffered a lot?

There was no a rule saying they have to keep together. Once they got free of the seal, they need fuel to recover. So they went in diferent directions to find the food. Now, this chapters shows they could reunite easily again when one of them are in danger or when they can take revenge of Mel.

By Mel? I don't see a problem there. Nakaba could have used the tourney to give power ups to Diane and King so that they would reach the demon level; that saving the gap power in a believable way. But it seems he has another idea in mind.

It's consistent with the fact that they are not at the level of the commandments. (And being the tourney a bad idea, there's no major problem in breking its rules, I think).

It's cool that Mel is on equal footing with the Commandments but truth be told, I am getting a bit tired of seeing only him in the spotlight.
Nakaba is planning something- he's gotta be- but the wait till its payoff is hard for me.

I bet he'll get trashed but obviously not killed. Zeldris want's to kill him, but maybe Estarrosa or someone else interrupts. It'd be believable if the demon king wants to have a word with his potential rebel heir.
Merascylla deserves some credit for having survived a scorching Sun.
This tournament was still more of a tournament than what Cell's one was.

I also guess the teleportation (with maybe a bit of flashback inbetween) but what could be the plan after that ? From what we see the commandments can go anywhere in a few seconds now. We will probably have 2 vs 1 commandements and that is when the new guys from the tournament we haven seen yet will become handy
