Yeah, the wording was odd. Why not destroy the magic of the whole world? Or is there only one huge continent in the FT universe? Having the FT guild as its center of course.
Why make 3000 faces when one would have sufficed to destroy all magic? Wouldn't it make more sense to make like five? Three thousand of these things makes no sense.
Makes as much sense as Bleach's 6000 seconds nonsense.
3000… 6000... I guess in the next chapter there will be over 9000 faces.
But seriously, what is their purpose, anyway? Why are they made, how are they made and when are they made? How long did it take to make one of them?
I don't even dare to ask about the other continents which were briefly mentioned by that tree mage IIRC.

We're going to see Fairy Tail's gimped version of the Dark Continent arc, mark my words.

Where all the dangerous things get beaten easily by every ft member through friendship and the continent will be easily uncovered as a whole in a couple days, lol.
So the Demonlord gets the information that Face exists. He creates a plan, gets an inside in the magic council, gathered troops and allies without anyone noticing. Then he and his troops succeeded in assassinting the council with the help of that inside. Their enemies know nothing. They know how Face work. They were so genre-savvy, that they thought about Jellal and distracted him. They had so many advantages and, even after failing some of their goals, they had half of Fairy Tail in their hands (without killing them).
The fact that there is still hope for Fairy Tail and this continents magic (wasn't that the magic of the whole world at first?), discualifies these Baddies all around. They simply don't deserve anything anymore, except utter defeat!!
And that inside could transfer who is the key, anyway, right? Couldn't he just transfer these keys into three babies and just kill them immediately?
No, these guys are so low, they don't even deserve utter defeat! Hopefully they somehow just get removed completely out of reality!
@God:
All right, I'm about to predict the next Fairy Tail chapter.
Sting and Rogue: Now you taste the might of two 3rd generation dragon slayers.
Begin to wreck Marde Guille
After a while
MG: Enough of this
Blows them away while looking "cool"
Switches to Lucy trying to get back up or something (near topless of course)
Lucy: Got to find Natsu
Switches to Natsu
Natsu: This bastard is strong
(Insert character here): Ha your inferior magic can't beat my curse. Also friendship is gay.
Natsu: Hurr durr friendship nakama love bonds protect
Super fire punches character
Natsu: That was a "tough" fight
Switch to Gray
Gray: I'm going to kick your ass
Cocky douche: Nuh uh I'm strong. Ul never told you what happened to your father.
Gray: She told me you killed him!
CD: No, I am your father
Gray: No. No! That's not true! That's impossible!
CD: Search your feelings; you know it to be true!
Gray: NOOOOOOO! NOOOOOOOO!!!
CD: Gray, you can destroy E.N.D. He has foreseen this. It is your destiny! Join me, and together, we can rule the world as father and son! Come with me. It is the only way.
I still called it more or less.
So, was there any good explanation as to why these "3000 Faces" were built in the first place? I sort of dropped FT around the chapter where Erza was imprisoned and stripped naked, skipped the rest and picked it up again from the latest two chapters.
I see that FT world has so many ancient warheads scattered all over the continents, but the villains who got their hand on them are never competent. Oh, I also hated those stupid Magic Council thing. Hopefully they're all finished off for good.
This chapter was close to Bleach in terms of progression. Literally nothing happened, except Sting & Rouge attacking in vain until declaring their belief in friendship, undoubtedly getting their much needed upgrade in power next chapter, and Gray repeating "I know you!" before Gray Senior aka Silver.At least that cover is absolutely hysterical!
I think I understand why they did build 3000.
Magic Council Guy: Hey, look, we've made five of these face thingies. Isn't it awesome?
Guinness World Records Guy: Well, there are also other continents, you know.
MC: Other continents…?
GWR: However, at the other continent they have around 2000 of these things, you know.
MC: Well, then we will create 3000 now.
GWR: Fine, just make sure to build them all at one place so that we can check them more easily, okay?
MC: Of course! I mean, so the access routes of our workers will get minimized. That's definitely for the best of everyone.
Of course they are doing 3000, it's called ballooning a projects when in cahoots with the contractors. How do you think they all got those sweet lairs, cars and that fuckin' huge castle (wait, it was a castle? Shit's so vanilla i don't even remember). Magician are corrupt as fuck.
We're going to see Fairy Tail's gimped version of the Dark Continent arc, mark my words.
No, Mashima has explicitly stated that except for Edolas, the entirety of the Fairy Tail story will take place in the Country of Fiore and immediate area.
@Fire Fist:

:wassat: Now that's really disappointing. But then again, what do I expect? It's a story of people living in a stationary guild building, who occasionally go travelling somewhere within the area surrounding their guild, not about some people on a journey around the world (like Rave was).
Monthly Fairy Tail Magazine Vol.1 Cover:
So… Fairy Tail Magazine wasn't an april fools joke? Oo
So… Fairy Tail Magazine wasn't an april fools joke? Oo
Why do you thought that? That information hasn't even announced in April.
Don't know. I think I remembered the news appearing near this date and dismissing it as april fool's joke since I found it stupid… but apparently not. Or maybe it was because of the news was posted among various wildl (and obviously stupid) speculation about Fairy Tail and thought it was a joke.
I'll probably read FT Zero only so I can make fun of it once Hiro-chan screws up the story.
It seems the magazine is only 80 pages, so is not that big. I've been wondering if it would be of the size of a magazine like Weekly Shonen Jump with around 400+ pages.
So will anybody translate all of the series in that magazine?
The magazine is 2759 yen, around 27 dollars(with DVD with 4 episodes of the anime included), how much copies do you think it will sell? I bet in 50k(That would be already a good investment, given that normal DVD selling 10k is super good).
Fairy Tail Magazine is just a needlessly elaborate way to promote the anime dvd sales.

It worked with Attack on Titan from the same publisher, so probably they are trying to do just that. Or maybe it was an agreement made with Bridge(the new animation studio collaborating with the creation of the anime) to make the anime more profitable. Being that probably the reason why Satelight(previous studio) got out of the series.

I doubt Fairy Tail going to have same impact as SnK. I know FT is popular, but its popularity is nowhere near SnK. If it was for money, then SnK should be much profitable than FT.
@Kaizou:

I know that! SnK special editions have around 200k sales. I'm not waiting for FT to have those numbers nor I believe that the publisher is looking for those numbers. For it to be profitable it doesn't need to have SnK numbers! A number as low as 5k would already be really profitable for a continuous series like Fairy Tail. One Piece that is the best of the bunch right now(long running series) sells around 1.2k per DVD.
They are basically selling the DVD with an extra, but they market it as a Magazine with the DVD only to bring the manga readers to the equation as well, that are a lot more than the DVD buyers.
If my estimate is right and it sells 50k, that it will be ultra successful.
Dammit, Mashima. You just had to draw Mavis in a bikini as bait, didn't you? Not that I mind, but still :ninja:
Hopefully the magazine just has stuff like the special chapters. Then it could actually be enjoyable.

Daddy issues
Nice twist
:)
Has Mashima become self-aware?
So, Gray had already fought against his master's first disciple (Leon) and his master's daughter (Ultear) and now he is fighting against his master's foe (Deliora). At this point, he just has to fight against his master herself (zombie-Ur), if he wants to have the complete collection… or will Mashima give us Ur's parents and other relatives, too, in order to make Gray's fights more original?
Ur became water… Maybe she'll merge with Juvia.
Yeah, Hiro-chan is once again at his best.
Nice chapter. You can read Silvers lines with the voices of Darth Vader (SW2) and Khan (ST2) and Grays lines with Lukes and Kirks voice in your head. Fits really well.
Silver: "I am your enemy AND your father!"
Gray: "Noooo thats impossible..!
Silver: "Revenge is a meal, best served cold."
Gray: "KHA…DEELLOOORRIAA!!!"
@Bartholemew:
Ur became water… Maybe she'll merge with Juvia.
That would be borderline incest, given that Ur was a mother figure to Gray… but I wouldn't be surprised, should Mashima go this route.
When Silver/Deliora mentioned that his body is in fact only a vessel it was obvious that it was Deliora. The chapter was okay. The only thing that bothered me was Mard Geer, I can't stand that guy.
Ok, cards on the table. That was a pretty solid FT chapter all around.
But Gray won't die.
Gray is a character that has been close to death so many times (and "actually" death once) that you know it's just drama.
Because a shot of Lame Geer being cocky CLEARLY needed to take up an entire page.
:wassat: Why is Gray always the one getting "Impending Doom" out of all the casts? Why not Natsu for once? Is Mashima trying to catch us off guard, so it will give more impact when he finally dies? for good?
Though in this situation, that Ice Shell thing won't do any good when Deliora himself can manipulate ice now (could he back then?). What's the point of foreshadowing that Gray is going to repeat Ur's mistake? Either way, I hope it won't end with "My ice is colder than yours" shtick…
:ninja: But wait! Deliora was actually dead from Ur's magic, but the former somehow was able to possess.. Silver's dead body? And Tartaros was conveniently there to restore Silver's body? I have feeling that Silver was not quite dead, and then recovered along with Deliora but still hasn't regained his consciousness yet. This is Fairy Tail after all.
If Deliora could just switch bodies, why didn't he take over Ur?
@God:
If Deliora could just switch bodies, why didn't he take over Ur?
Maybe he had already taken over Silver's body when Ur arrived to seal him.

Probably after the Iced Shell take place. It would be stupid to stop rampage to pick up Silver's corpse, take it over, then change back to giant form over a reason that he shouldn't have yet. I think it was also bottomlined that Deliora deliberately chose Silver's body to harass Gray, Ur's disciple, before killing him as revenge.
:wassat:I wonder if the translation for the dialogues was misleading because of it's the usual Mangapanda.

Deliora said that him finding Silver's body was a coincidence.
!
Allright chapter. I don't mind bringing back Deliora, beats the hell out of yet another wizard daddy gone bad. I just want him to take on demon form already because I actually like his design, even though it is kinda generic. Human Silver is just smug Gray with a scar. Best moment was Minerva ripping out the Demon Mushroom from Happy's head and the following face fault.
@God:
Deliora said that him finding Silver's body was a coincidence.
Thanks, that makes way more sense.
So I'm waiting for the part where Luke gets his hand cut off, that part's awesome.
Wait, I meant Gray.
By all rights, I should be mad about Deliora being alive. It takes one of the few really good characters in this story, Ur, and make almost everything she did pointless. However even when Fairy Tail gets to it's most stupid and nonsensical, I can't really get mad. FT has always been a story that is all flash, with some substance. It sticks to it's roots through the entire story, which is focus on certain characters and their guild which their friendship allows them to overcome any challenge. It's silly, yes, but it also has some generally good moments (The scene which Mirajane and Elfman reunite with Lisanna, some of the stuff from the arc that focused on Erza). I guess what I'm trying to say is that I can't hate Fairy Tail because it has stayed true to it's roots. This contrasts with other Manga that I really hate after a certain point (I dropped HSDK and Bleach long ago dropped the ball). I will stick with FT till the end because it's at least fun, despite stupid moments that don't make sense, and moments that make some past events meaningless.
