very good episode, the new VA slotted in very nicely it was always going to be a tough act to follow but he did good.
Hunter x Hunter II

The new VA sounds so different. The old one had that playful voice and I think he'd have worked so well, especially with the things that Netero will do that will just show that there's a monster behind that sweet playful old man.
Also can people see the Buddha?
-
Also can people see the Buddha?
It's a nen beast, so only nen users could see it if they were there.
-
That was a pretty great episode. I remember Netero was a beast in the manga, but the anime seemed to capture the awe of his ability a little better here, I think.
-
I don't know which was more amazing in this episode, Hyakushiki Kannon's build up or how many years went between the first attack and Meruem standing up to fight.
-
I do think that they are starting to overuse that slow-motion-movement-with-lots-of-after-images trick.
-
Is Morel supposed to be flipping Knuckle off?
…It's the wrong finger.
Nah, it's the right one. Togashi just makes it hard to tell with his trademark scribbles. The pinky is just obscured so it looks like he has four fingers.
-
Just read the chimera Ant arc, how did the queen any get her Injures, and you think she came from the dark continent.
-
It's not know, if it was just the storm or another predator, but the fact that she was from the dark continent was said in the 2th to last chapter.

Thanks a lot man.
-
This Ikalgo was awesome. But my memory isn't clear. Can someone remind me the episodes involving Gyro (both ant and human)?
-
So the new episode mentioned Gyro by name in context of Welfin's back story.
Just wanted the naysayers who thought they wouldn't to know that.
-
i don't enjoy spamming "good episode" every week but I'll prob do it anyways
lots of talking, very creepy bugs and an epic cliffhanger. excellent going madhouse.
-
I heard this episode was all one chapter, and yet it felt pretty well-paced with a cliffhanger at the end.
-
It had tons of moments to breathe. Ikarugo inflating gave them chances to pad it a little.
-
Hey guys, I'm new to the series, and have just caught up to the most recent anime episode. And I was just wondering for all you manga readers: How many more episodes do you think the Chimera Ant arc will be? How many chapters have yet to be covered?

! Depends on how much slowmotion they continue to add. A few chapters are containing full episodes because they're stretching it out so much. So my guess it 10-15 episodes before they get into the next arc.
-
Well, I don't know who said it, maybe Knov, but it's already a sign when he said that the Chairman successfully drove the King away with himself and their work is done.
-
The guys who drew Killua's facial expressions this episode need a promotion. Seriously.
About the pace, even as an anime-only watcher, I can notice these last episodes have been adapting less content, but I'm fine with it. And hell, it means I'll be able to keep watching this for longer :P
-
Is it just me or did Palm give anyone some serious Alucard vibes this episode?
-

Thought the same thing. I really liked the way they animated the hair flowing into her clothes, looked very cool.
-
I don't know if I asked this before but anyone else notice that something happens to one of Gon's arms every arc? Either they get broken or he loses one until a really special nen ability helps him get it back.
Do you think maybe Togashi does this on purpose?
-
It's symbolic as to how tired Togashi's arms get by the end of the arc.
-
So one of the animation directors for HxH put on Twitter that the Chimera Ant arc is ending at episode 135.
Guess the anime will be over by September then or even sooner considering the whole "most of the arc is talking" problem of the Chairman election arc

Hey guys I have a question: What are Gon, Killua, and Leorio's restrictions? Does Gon even have one? Have we even seen Leorio use his Nen (I'm an anime only watcher). I've tried looking online but haven't found anything.

Not everyone puts a literal restriction on their abilities, but each ability tends to have a very obvious drawback or high risk/high reward.
-As Knuckle said, the big flaw of Gon's technique is that he has a large charge up time, and he's basically a sitting duck during that time.
-Killua's electric transmutation properties are pretty much based on charging through a physical outlet or I guess rest, especially Kanmaru, and he can actually run out of nen really quickly if he abuses it too much, such as in his short fight with Youpi.
-We haven't seen anything about Leorio's Nen really other than one basic attack. -
Killlua has an additional restriction in that to transmute Nen into electricity, he had to have experienced being electrocuted repeatedly till his body could effectively treat it like an ant bite. Electricity isn't something normal people would be able to transmute.
-

I think you're confusing restriction with training.
-
I think you're confusing restriction with training.
Maybe, but considering what "training" Killua had to endure in order to actually use electricity I'd say that's kind of a restriction.
Like this - Restriction: Requires torture through electrocution; Result: The ability to use electric Nen with no ill effects. -

Gon - It leaves him defensless, and it takes a while to charge up.
Killua - In order to obtain the ability in the first place, he had to expose himself to constant electric shock, and he has to recharge himself with electricity after a certain about of use.
Leo - Not enough info on his ability to determine imo, might have something to do with the distance his ability travels though.
Edit: Damn, I responded super late to this post, I had left this page up on my computer from earlier, and didn't realize it, lol.

Like this - Restriction: Requires torture through electrocution; Result: The ability to use electric Nen with no ill effects. It's not a restriction, if you start calling training and preparation restrictions, then the base act of understanding Nen becomes a restriction, Netero's "1000 punches a day" become a restriction. Yes you have to train, or addapt to being tortured by electricity, to use certain tecniques, but nen restrictions and conditions are psychological.
Like franklin's his power worked already with fingertips, the cutting didn't do shit to his nen flow, just improved because "Now I have the barrels for my bullets!"
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
The things that you are listing aren't "Nen Conditions", those are weakness or preparation time, when Gon transformed the charge time of Rock was severely reduced, the charge is the nen being focused, not a condition, if it was, then the technique would have failed, or worse.
Also, Nen doesn't require a condition, it can make it stronger, but as it places limitations to the power, the limitation must be something that restrict it's use, in order to focus it, the condition "I must already have been tortured by electricity my whole life" is useless as a nen condition, as it was a given before the nen was developed.
A weakness is "I can only shoot this acurrately/it will disolve beyond to 15m" a restriction is "If I shot this beyond 15m I'll die"

Like this - Restriction: Requires torture through electrocution; Result: The ability to use electric Nen with no ill effects. No, the reason Killua can use electricity in the first place is because his body is immune to it. Think of it as one of his perks/passive abilities. The part where he repeatedly tasered himself is because that is the process required for electricity transmutation. It is no different to how Kurapica has to visualize chains every day to one day materialize it. That is training: it is just a process of improving oneself. Restriction is a different thing: it is the "get-rich-quick scheme" of Nen training. Basically, if you thought of an ability that is compatible to you but there is no way for you to implement it because of the amount of training that you currently have, then you resort on putting conditions/restrictions on the said ability.
-

Oh, well that makes sense.
In fact, it makes a lot of sense now that I think about it. The Nen abilities that have conditions/restrictions tend to be really broken. Chrollo can steal other Nen abilities, the Bomber can materialise an indestructible bomb, those fish siblings have unblockable instant darts…even Cheetu has (had) this space-warping Nen ability that could potentially seal off anyone.
So do Illumi's needles count as a condition? -

I think that the cutting of his fingers was a "condition", ora t least, that's what Togashi intended. Togashi even hints at it in the nen bio he gave for Franklin. This is his condition, a sacrifice of sorts, to increase his nen strength. I believe Shoot also gave up his arm for Hotel Rafflesia, although that's just a theory.

Oh hey, I forgot I wrote that for the year-end school booklet
-
Did you ever accomplish #2? Well, if you did, you did a pretty crappy job
-
Did you get to visit the Reef? I wish I could one day.

@Devil:

I plan to go this summer

-
@Devil:
I admit it, that was pretty dumb of me xD
Good luck anyways.
Thanks

The track playing at the end of this episode was delicious.
-
Wow, awesome episode indeed.
Also look at the pebbles falling down towards the end of the episode, that's how fast Netero is praying.

Pitou looks so worried. Meanwhile Pouf's head looked pretty messed up this episode.
Great animation for the fight, was that a pink heart at the end?
-
The pink heart is srs bns, at least from what I hear
