i was a victm of the hurricane katrina too. iam a new member here so i guess no one knows about me. i evacuated from new orleans the day before the katrina hit. i live in the eastern part of new orleans, where i belive it was hit mostly. i dont know what condition my house is now. i evacuated to memphis tennessee, does anyone on this forum live here? iam on a public library computer, which i may not go on a lot bc my parents are lazy at times. i'll go on whenever i get the chance to, which is hardly ever.
anyways, about more than a quarter of a million people in new orleans evacuated. more than 40,ooo people from new orleans died. many people left homeless, hungry, and jobless, and not to mentin posessionless (dont think thats a word, but yo undersrand its meaning) many people there started looting stores for supplies, guns, etc. projects started murdering others and carjacking cars. everyhting is a mess down there. my poor home is ruined!
now, the flood percentage lowered to 60% because theyre pumping the water out of the city. all people from superdome and that center thing (forgot what its called) have been sent to texas, houston on buses. the population of texas has been doubled bc of them. countries from all over the world have helped, even japan! the money support from all the countries are twice as many as 9-11 and three times the tsunami. katrina is the worst hurricane in th hstory of hurricanes, and it had to happen to new orleans; one of the most important cities of the united stats, especially bc of he ports of trade and stuff. people dont know if they're going to rebuild new orleans. if they dont, new orleans will become a ghost town.
and that about covers everything i know about the hurricane! please excuse me for posting such a long post.
