@Dryish:
Rather easily, my good man.
What I mean by accurate information is the exact amounts of specific nutrients that certain vegetables and non-meat food items include, which is something that I do not have knowledge of. This, however, does not mean that I would not have read innumerable news items, articles and such, on the subject of a vegetarian diet being able to supply a human body with as much of every important building block and maintenance tool of our cells as such a body requires to stay in good shape. Eating meat is absolutely not necessary for a healthy life; eating a diet whereby you get all those nutrients on a steady basis is, and that is attainable by following the rules of vegetarianism, even for strict hardline vegans.
This has been studied, this has been proved, and this has been reported, all so many times that I cannot remember. I just can't find you a single one of those studies right now to back up my claim, which I know to be fact, but also know that you are unlikely to accept as such.
Also, to even attempt to argue with someone who clearly holds the faith that killing for eating is not acceptable on the matter of whether the ethics of eating meat are trivial or not is one of the silliest and most disrespectful things you can possibly spend your time on. It is someone's personal faith that you, no matter what, cannot prove to be either true or false. Yes, we can attest to the fact that millions upon millions of humans do it all the time without suffering from fatal consequences as long as they are alive (unless they overindulge), but who can say with utmost certainty that they know what happens after that, or even whether it is right or wrong regardless of what happens afterwards. By doing so, you are proving that you do not respect Gear X's honest faith and opinion on the matter, even though he/she does the same decision of following his/her parents and now also his own creed every single day and does not opt for eating meat for that day's dinner. And I find that rather unsettling. I myself used to have similar feelings some years ago, but I realized I simply wouldn't have to care as long as no one tried to shove it at my face. Live and let others live, dude.
Yes, even if it is possible (you didn't post the studies you promised) it is much, much harder and 99,99% of the population doesn't have the requied knowledge or dedication to eat a healthy vegetarian diet.
And I never said that he has to eat meat or something like that. I only said that I find in unacceptable for people to force their children into such habits.

@Sarfallet:
Well in the past decades I'm pretty sure there was even more rice(and wheat), 'cause people didn't have enough money for meat.
And they would still eat meat if they could.
@Panda:
The key points of your own post being 'best' and 'harder'.
People who simply say 'eating vegetarian / vegan is healthier!' are oversimplifying to the point of ignorance, but the same is true of the reverse. It's possible to have a perfectly healthy diet regardless of if you eat meat or not, and you have nothing on which to base an assumption that a complete stranger on an internet forum does not.
And it's perfectly possible to have your child study 12 hours a day, but it doesn't mean it's good for him/her. And I never said that he was unhealthy.
