It wouldn't destroy it imo, it would just be really redundant, fire already is a major part of is fighting ability, but if he eats the fruit, then yes he can turn himself completly on fire, but he cant swim anymore, which would ruin one of his few post timeskip move. How many times have any of the Strawhat or Sanji fought in water? Last time I checked even DF users can swim or fight underwater if it comes to that, what's the point of the "bubbles" if they aren't any DF users to use it? And when Jimbie joins then Sanji being best swimmer or stuff will be thrown off since Jimbie will be the water dude in the crew.

it's not that is redundent,it's that the mera mera will turn sanji in a range fighter instead of the close-combat typoe he is now..why go near an enemy to throw a kick when you can engulf him in fire from distance?

etc…etc.. and every Mugiwara will become stronger in diferent arcs and islands. Because i know that the level they have now they can't fight against the big bosses who, since 10 or more years ago are in the sea and got more experience in combat (but are not at their prime). How the Strawhat crew can surpass the old generation if they can't compete 1 vs 1 with the other monsters in the sea? Okey they have the "Alliance", but come on, they can't win if they are alone? That's why i see a new power up in every arc. 2 years is not too much time training in comparison with other pirates who fought in Roger and Whitebeard times and got more experience.
Well, since they are on Dressrosa, a fíght between Luffy and Dofla is practically confirmed and we all know who will win.
If the crew can beat Dofla, they are not that far away from beating a yonkou. People act like the SH are still the unexperienced kids like they were at the beginng of their journey.They will beat the first yonkou with the help of the alliance and the second one alone. I don't see how they need a drastic power up for this.

What would be the point of giving him a power up before even showing what his previous one did to him? Specially taking into account that the only new ability we know he got from his last training (Geppou) would be completely nullified by the Mera Mera (he would be able to move freely through the air as fire).
And that's not all. There is another thing: look at the SH since the time skip. None of them even started to have trouble fighting. They are simply trampling over all the enemies in their way. They are WAY ahead the level of their enemies right now. SH are still waiting for the enemies on their level to start appearing (something I hope Dressrosa will give them).
It will be a long way until they get more power ups. Not only because they don't need one now, but because it would be a poor move story wise until their new abilities start to be explored (I mean, only Luffy got a real fight so far).

if he's shooting fire from his legs,why even come that close to an enemy?..ace could attack someone from metres of distance and with so much flames to pierce numerous ships with a single shot…as i said earlier..point every part of your body you want at the general direction of what you want dead and shoot fire at him,that's what the mera mera is all about,and that's the opposite of fighters like luffy,sanji or anyone who uses close combat. -

Actually that toy doesn't seem like SH material at all, one leg (idk) but the thing is he holds the DON FAMILY proudly, as he was talking to the police I got the byep that If DD said destroy yourself he will do it.
lI don't like the one leg either, but except that he seems fine. Seems like it's not a problem for him since he can run around freely so its only estethic kind of thing.
