What a chapter, Alfaro came in like a boss
Hopefully we'll go back to Area 6 next week.
Toriko II: Ichiryuu's Slimy Insides!!
-
-
Worst case scenario is by the time we gat back to Area 6, some fights are skipped.
-
Unlikely given how vital for the plot is as well as the means to enter through the soul world. Hell, on this chapter the cooking fest has been listed as one of the reasons the Kings have started moving.
-
Well if Zaus goes down he was hyped up for nothing. Although that seems expected of Toriko.
-
You don't want to cross Midora.
-
@tim:
! Right, I am not saying that all characters and their powers should be given 3 chapters+, I am just concerned that relatively (in that they were able to move about the GW freely and had very high level titles) important characters (much like Boneless, the bubblegum guy, and Shigematsu) will not be detailed. I mean, the sudden animal characteristics of a member of the Oth, the top ranked Human world chef, a Human World National Treasure, and the former Bishokaki's top scientist just feels like end of series information/battles. I get that Toriko is not at One Piece levels of sales or popularity, but Bleach's current arc has been rambling on for almost two years without much sign of slowing (even in the midst of horrible sales, likely worse). I just don't want Toriko to end prematurely like other good shonen: yu yu hakusho, hitman reborn, etc.
Don't get how that has anything to do with the series ending soon…
Like Nekketsu said, you're thinking too much.

Not gonna go off-topic but Bleach sales are far from being horrible.
300-400k per volume seems above avarage for me. -
I forgot how much I liked Alfaro's design. I wonder if he's from Area 6.
-
Where is my Grinpatch?
-
This post is deleted!
-
What the hell happened to this manga in those two last weeks ?
-
I don't think JoeJoe's, Kousairou's and Zaus' "evolution" is connected with their appetite demons. They've become monsters! And Teppei tree's transformation, as well as Mohyan's spider, is really strange. The page where Midora attacks is devastating!

It's the same thing we did see in Shigematsu. He showed snake-like features, a sign he was experimented on, and that also explains Teppei's new abilities. All the NEO members have been given improvements in the form of the ability to transform themselves into the animal they were crossed with.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
The fest has nothing to do with it. It's the cooking involving the soul trade and all that stuff.
Cooking in general. In the current fest the human chefs are risking having their souls stolen.
-
Well if Zaus goes down he was hyped up for nothing. Although that seems expected of Toriko.
He was never hyped, he was portrayed at the same level as Yuda when it comes to fighting..
Very good chapter btw, great ending with Midora showing up and wrecking everyone, looking forward to his meeting with Joa.
And Where is Grimpach? Is he still sick?

Well Zaus was the number 1 chef in the ranking and was called the god of chefs. I think that means something.
-
I just look at the grotesque thing and the only it comes to mind is a question. Just HOW MANY hours does Mitsutoshi spend drawing that? We already know he puts a lot of detail in his creations, but that thing goes way beyond that.

How many faces does ot have anyway? Counting at least 4.
-
Zaus was hyped to be a good chef, never really hyped to be a good fighter.
Although he did one shot Chi or whatshername when Setsuno took ages in that fight (probably toying around). But then 5 minutes later he struggles against Setsuno anyway. And then he admitted to getting owned by Joa but that's not really any real indication of his strength though it does make him look weak if he's introduced like that, no matter how strong Joa was.
Nice to see Alfaro, but I was expecting Grinpatch too. Guess he's probably the cavalry for some other area. Midora, Alfaro and Teppei are definitely enough to handle the entire secret base minus Joa and maybe blue Nitros. Wonder how it will play then. Jirou did imply no one else has eaten the full course so I don't think Midora is a match for Joa. Nitros' strength are still an unknown factor. Though they were scared of Midora back when they tried to eat Ichiryuu, so probably not that strong.
And yeah, another fast development chapter. Feels a bit weird.
Though at this rate Toriko can probably eat the full course and just "the cavalry" his way into Joa's base before the fight is over.
-
I like how Mohyan's ability involves Dio, Diavolo and Pucci's stand.
-
Well Zaus was the number 1 chef in the ranking and was called the god of chefs. I think that means something.
But being the greatest chef doesnt equal being the strongest chef.

Agreed, but when you say someone is the best at something it does generate some expectations from him. I mean if you are going to call him the best chef in a cooking manga then i at least expected him to have a cook-off with komatsu and get beaten there. Not just cut down in a surprise attack.
-

Ironically, he talked stuff about surprise attacks in the cooking fest.
-
who's No.2 in Bishokukai? Isn't Star?
-
NEO is finally getting more interesting, I like how all its members are slowly turning into monsters.
Other than that, I really can´t comprehend Shimas pacing anymore, too bad.

Shima does what Oda doesn't do in his manga masterpiece and vice versa. The pacing.
I want a little combination of both, yeh? I love both mangas. I like them for what they are
but a little bit of mixture in terms on pacing on both manga would be sweet to read. -

Second Joa, yes.
But he is still just a Sous Chef like Grinpatch and Tommy, but this was before it all went down by NEO anyway. -

What about Alfaro is he like a personal aide to Midora.
He is the waiter, so his position is just as important as one would be for a restaurant.

With that nickname u would expect Zaus being disciples level….

Looks like the Neo-members are wearing those balls which Joa was preparing as necklaces/earrings. Perhaps a reason why they're able to use animal abilities?

Alfaro is Midora's right-hand man according to his profile in the volumes.

In other words he's No.2

But Staa is the number 2 in terms of power.

Doubtful. Volume says he's stronger than the Head Chefs and that Alfaro's true potential is unknown.

Just taking what Joa is saying. Its even in bold.Star being called "#2" by Joa isn't all that impressive considering the organization only ever really consisted of the Branch Chiefs, Limon, Sous Chefs, Alfaro and Midora himself. JoeJoe, Kaitora, the Head Chefs, Niceny and Dores (5 of 6 people ranked above Star in the organization) were never actually a part of the organization to begin with so it's unlikely that she took them into consideration when she said Star is #2. It's much more likely that Alfaro is #2 with the volumes confirming that he is the bosses right-hand man and that his potential is unknown. Meaning Joa doesn't know much, if anything about him.
-
Know what? I quit. It may never been said in the manga but Staa is number 2 in my opinion and I am pretty sure that being the right-hand man isn't enough proof for being number 2 and potential unknown even less. And if the words of the guy that knows more than what is going on than any other character doesn't satisfy I am not gonna stress myself to convince others.
-
Starjun is like Sabo and Alfaro is like Iva in one piece you could say that.
-
I… I don't even know what is going on in this manga anymore. Stuff goes down way too fast, and I have trouble understanding what this means for the future of the manga. Still a good chapter.

Not really. They were hipnotized.
-
What the fuck happened to Kousairou. I mean the others look pretty disgusting, too, but he looks even more disgusting.
-
I got question about Toriko and sales . Pace is really fast. If sales if going bad maybe Shima wants to end it. Anyone got this information.

Toriko's pace has always been this fast, it usually ranks in the middle of the TOC and sales are good enough, more or less it sells around the same number of copies like Gintama. Everything else is just false speculation.
-
I can see this series final battle being this demon king and Joa vs Toriko and Komatsu

at first I thought joa just had a really cool clown-ish looking design, but those balls have a meaning now -
Do those balls taste like Gumballs or are they more like Jawbreakers?

I wonder how powerful is alfaro since hes midora's personal aide
