Toriko II: Ichiryuu's Slimy Insides!!
-
-
Sea King.
-
Wouldn't a deer fall under the horse category. I remember seeing a horse with antlers when herakles Jr was born
-
The most interested Quastion is that CENTER will be under which king
-
Center will probably be related to derous. Cure water heals people from near death and cure water is by derous. Center is probably the source of cure water. Earth will be the poop of the mole king and sunny will die when he finds that out.
-
I found this.
-
^A rough approximation of how the second encounter with bambina will go
-
I was hoping for spoiler .
-
I actualy think that they are going to get a free pass with bambina, they actualy becoming it's playmates rather than defeating it, so that they show progress but not get to the point of defeating one of the kings yet.
-
They likely won't ever defeat any of the kings. The first 4 are a guaranteed curb-stomp battle; the wolf, crow and snake are of course Terry, Kiss and Quinn mirrors; and then there's friggin Dragon King Derous who is likely the strongest of them all.

Depends on what you think it is.
-
! is it …......Midora??
-
16 chars of probably not.
-
! is it …......Midora??
! The last line is Chinese so I can read it.
If that spoiler is true, then yes, Midora and Starjun appear. Starjun fights the Panther/Leopard King while Midora fights the Dragon King (both members of the 8 Kings). -
! Nice, I always wondered how Midora stacks up against the 8 Kings, guess this will answer that :)
-
! please. Midora has been fighting kings since hundreds of years ago. This is probably the first time he doesn't get his ass handed to him by derous if this spoiler is true.
-
! Midora… My favorite character in the series fighting a King...!
! Please! Let it be true!!! -
! if this is true then we finally know what that eye in darkness was. So Mr actually number 2 in terms of power can take a king alone huh. Toriko and the boys can't even play with one yet. Still got a long way to go.
-
I guess it is true because we having toriko & co training and it's best way to change the pace to check the others .
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
-
See, not appearing at all.
-
Too good to be true but lol
! bambina still playing hide and seek
-
! What you must not forget…
is that this is not training for the sake of defeating the Monkey King…
! Page 15:
Kaka: It is purely preparation to become playmates of the Monkey King…
Because we have one goal…
his testicles…!
Coco: Please don't say testicles.lawl
-
! Looks like we got our answer on instant regeneration. Really creative by the author's part.
-
! Sigh, another bullshit powerup based on bullshit science that makes no sense resulting in a powerup that will just make them faster and stronger but won't result in an actual visible change in technique or fighting style. Whatever…
! The will of cells, like really? Ugh. -
I don´t read Toriko´s spoilers (because i enjoy the surprise it brings), but it always gives me a funny feeling when i see so many
! enclosed posts in this thread.
-
Bambina has officially become my favourite animal in this series.

I don't know, he has a point
! I mean, do you enjoy all that cell stuff? Toriko can be very tedious when it brings up vague stuff like this. Just like the pre shot routine and the law of minority explanations…I kinda prefer Toriko when it's straight forward or at least deals with concepts that are simpler and easy to understand, like autophagy and phytoncide. I mean, there's no vagueness there. Eat yourself to temporarily regain your strength and give of a smell that insects hate, easy.
-
Wasn't it Ichiryuu's power to control minority cells? Isn't it same concept as this Enbu? Does this mean that Ichiryuu had mastered enbu to point that he was able to control individual cells of his surroundings and or was he's on whole new level since he was able to control not only his own cells but even controlled someone as strong as Midora with this power? Anyway if that's case then I guess it's going to be one of powers they'll keep practicing through series. Imagine all 4 becoming able to use "minority world".
-
http://www.mangapanda.com/toriko/305 its out btw
-
Does Zebra's boring ignorance really not bother anyone else?
-
Kinda a boring chapter but LOL at people thinking that this particular powerup is bullshit. Why are you even reading Toriko? This is absolutely in line with other powerups in the series.
And yeah Monkey King still hiding was hilarious.
-
Zebra's attitude is getting kinda out of hand. I thought getting steamrolled by bambina would give him some humility but it seems he's gotten cocky again.

Compared to Ki, chakra, haki, magic, friendship power up, eye powers, bankais, and other forms of power of other shonen manga, all these techniques and forms of power in Toriko are usually more complex, more interesting and no more illogical or irrealistic or hard to comprehend, imo.
One Piece's devil fruits, for example, are very interesting and varied, but they don't make any more sense than this.

The problem is similar in principal to the uncanny valley. The closer you come to reality, the stupider it looks. We can accept magic bullshit just fine, but when you try to apply fake dumb science, attention is called to just how terrible the logic is.

The Ogure Ito principle.
-
Nah Zebra knows he has to train. But he doesn't want to juggle, he wants to kill stuff, that's all.
-
Zebra just being Zebra, nothing wrong with that.
-

Well, I don't agree with that. It seems a pretty inconsistent argument to me.
-
It'd be one thing if this is the first time this happened but how many arcs have we had where we got a random power with a convoluted ass explanation that was brought up in one arc and never mentioned again. Food Honor, Ultimate Pre-Routine, Minority Cells, Calorie Counts, Appetite Energy, Random Demons being manifested out of nowhere. At least series like One Piece or Naruto or HunterxHunter stick to one vaguely defined magical system instead of several that all HAVE to be explained with this series's sorry excuse for science. Will of Cells, blegh.
And before someone brings up Rokushiki or Fishmen Karate or whatever, those are integrated far better to the story with cultural conotations and are continuously brought back in a natural way by appropriate characters and settings. They feel like part of the world, Enbu feels like something the author pulled out of his ass for this one arc and will never be mentioned again.

Yep, I can accept magic just fine. Give me a system and follow its rules and I won't think too deeply about the hows. But when we're constantly given new systems and trying to make them "scientifically" plausible to boot…blegh.
-
Well calorie count and appetite energy could be grouped into one since they are essentially the energy they use. Calorie count could be thought of as the unit for appetite energy like how we measure electricity in watts and stuff. The routines have been featured in the story for more than 1 arc. We saw it used a few chapters ago. The demons have been interacting with stuff since the early series like when Toriko would ask before going into autophagy. And food honor has been integrated into the fighting styles just fine. You don't see puffy and other characters having a flashback whenever they use haki or new techniques right. The things in Toriko have been explained but were still learning more about gourmet cells and that's what really makes this all possible.
Tldr: lol gourmet cells did it

Gotta love this asspulled pseudocience with all my heart. Not the gravity part, though. That is straightforward wrong, unless you have recently seen Interstellar on drugs -which is what I guess Shimabukuro did last week.
Also, it's obvious that Zebra doesn't need this shit. He's so damm cocky that he'll directly order his cells around as he pleases. Hell, even his cells are made of pure cockily cocky cockiness-matter!!!

The gravity part is just as pseudoscience and just as wrong as the rest. You just think its worse because you probably have a better grasp of how it works than the rest. But, like I said earlier, I don't agree with that argument, it seems inconsistent to me.
-
I can't believe people are having this "It can't happen in real life" discussion AGAIN. For fuck's sake…
I've tried to understand these opinions again and again and they still seem like the weirdest logic to me. Like none of these arguments follow any sort of thing that people usually discuss when critiquing anything. We had crazy unrealistic pseudoscience in chapter 1, guys. Now we're at a part of the series pretty far down the line from that... For crying out loud...And they have re-used all those things somewhere or another in the series a bunch of times. They usually comment on some aspect of a new thing in the series being related to it as the characters powers get more complex. The thing is re-using tons of stuff from earlier on in the series would be boring. As would making a series based on crazy extremes be SOOOO technical that it totally satisfies everyone logically.
I dunno why I keep coming back to this thread only to see this same stuff over and over again...
-
Whenever I read someone attempting to link reality with a fictional story that has its own rules and logic, I want to slap that mofo in the face so hard.
-
And thus we continue the Toriko thread cycle
-

If Mitsutoshi didn't compare his pseudoscience to real life logic all the time I don't think people would care as much.
He constantly uses the real world as the basis for all these abilities he comes up with.
-
God, Toriko is really going to the shitter lately…
Another training montage and right after Teppei in a bowl 79...
Well, it's still better than Bleach (and Naruto, how I miss you my idiotic prince...) so still worth reading, but feeling kind of bummed by how it's insanity just isn't keeping me as much as before.
