One of them seems like the one from Hozone herb arc.
Nah, the Ozone one had a kind of Tomahawk which you can't see here, the on that resembles him the most is the one to right of the empty seat.

That's why i quoted it, mindless as in going on a rampage like the pyramid one and Tommy when the real fight starts, not some Nitro with a calculating mind that goes all about plans or something which is the vibe those blue Nitro gave me and which contradicts the whole meaning of the name.
This behavior is nothing new. The Nitro have never been mindless beasts who are slaves to a voracious appetite. Look at Chichi, or the Nitro Toriko and Komatsu met at vegetable sky and the Nitro who built the Gourmet Pyramid and wrote the ancient cook book. They've always been intelligent and calculating, that's why they are the top of the food chain. The only ones we've seen rampaging about are ones that were imprisoned against their will or haven't eaten in 1000+ years. They are the exception; not the rule.
I bet Chichi is/was the 8th seat holder.
!
Exciting times at the super massive maze full of possibilities!
VS.
More vague and cryptic build up (for the upteenth time?) done by extremely bland people, that still doesn't directly state anything, but it's cryptic and vague, and we love it!
Yup, I'm totally going with crypticness by notFrohze.
Well, at least we'll get to see Buranchi next week, it seems. And I'm expecting great things from bewitching food world (or wathever it's called), scenery porn wise. I hope it will be a really memorable place!

You don't get my point, the only thing i'm talking about is fighting when it comes to Nitro, yes they are intelligent (the pyramid alone and the cook book are enough proof for that) but iirc the name Nitro was due to their ferocity leading them to be a blast when it comes to fights.
And i don't remember where but there was also mention that they're only calm when they don't feel any threat coming from the beast/people around them
I'd rather them not spend 20 fucking chapters in a maze, and have the pacing that One Piece is currently having, where for some reason a whole chapter was dedicated to people arguing who is going to kill Doflamingo (where you literally fall asleep when reading it).
In my opinion, also, it was pretty obvious this maze would be fodderized by Komatsu, because he has yet to display his 'power' he gained over the time skip being in the Gourmet World for about a year.
Look at the nitro sitting at the left of the empty chair
it's the same as the one they meet here
+3seats at his left there is the nitro who killed ichiryuu, good eyes guys.
I honestly like the nitros… but these "gourmet noble" just seems to me like world nobles "the creators" from one piece... i don't know
Anyway skipping the maze was definitely a bad thing, it's basically the author saying a big fuck you to all adventure lovers.... I mean yeah the world building is good in toriko, but if the author will just introduce some places/things (like the steal clouds/ maze) in just a semi chapter not even a chapter just for hyping things in the gourmet world and it's not then relevant for later, then fuck this kind of world building, it's just bad and dumb... I would rather have one very well developed/explained/relevant for the arc, supernatural crazy phenomena/place, than have lots of things here and there, things that I will probably forget by the end of the series...

This isn't the only reason. Cmon, while it's true it would be fun if they had spent more time inside the maze, what would be the point? To fill countless pages showing caves and monsters and treasure chests all for the sake of showing? No, this is not how it works. The maze is but just a small portion of one huge arc that has already displayed a bunch of amazing landscapes. It would have only made sense to show more of the maze if there was an actual purpose. Plus they were in the deep sea, surrounded by water, and with a beast that can barely put a fight against the strong sea monsters that inhabit the maze.
And needless to say, having finally confirmation of who is Joa and revealing the identities of the Blue Nitro we saw in the flashback was a delight.
Just my two cents.
everybody who thought that exploring the maze is an option is flat out insane
Don't get me wrong, I love adventure but that is just…what? I mean have you seen the size of that thing, Shima barely explored that snake devil cave at the beginning of the series, and that one was infinitively smaller than this one, how was that ever an option
anyway, decent chapter, not as good as the last recent weeks, but whatever. We know who Joa actually is now and I think I have a general idea what NEO is trying to accomplish, that is appearantly somehow leaving the planet? But why they want that is anyones guess. Their Nitro bosses want to return to the homeland or is this just a generic disposition of 'there has to be even tastier stuff on other planets!'
Look at the nitro sitting at the left of the empty chair

Uh no.

But devil cave didn't have the swodsbeast.
The whole maze was about that swodsbeast.
Perhaps it's just me, but it felt like Joa was actually using a figure of speech, when he said he's Frohze's child.
The Gourmet Nobles date back from the BB Corn arc. But at that time it was nevr stated specifically if they were human in first place.
Really? same skirt same hair..
Not the same hair, not at all.
It's just not him, having a skirt doesn't indicate they're the same.

Before you two start arguing… the one he's referring to isn't at the 'left' of the empty seat, it's directly opposite the empty seat and wearing the same bandolier+has same hair as the one in ozone herb arc.

That's the one who killed Ichiryuu.
The Blue Nitro's designs are awesome. But I'm angry at Shima for just skipping the maze like that, god damnit.

I felt just the same.

ah yes you're right
does have the same hair + bandolier (but not going through his arm too) with the one from the ozone herb arc but… no skirt
but yeah definitely not seeing the one on the left of the empty seat being the one from ozone herb arc
Gotta love the fact the random tin can is gonna be more important than all those treasure chests.
The way that the maze was handled was extremely disappointing. Wasn't it supposed to be really dangerous? I feel no real danger for the group in the way that the story is being told right now. It makes the progress so uninteresting, there's zero drama, and the comedy isn't really working for me anymore.
So Komatsu can just walk the path to success because he can "see" it, even if only subconsciously. I would have much preferred to see this concept teased out over several chapters, not just explained in such an off the cuff manner by some random frog man. Where's all the sense of exploration and mystery? This is starting to devolve into just a silly romp through random trippy scenery.

Weren't the 4HK supposed to be blazing a trail, marking territory or whatever as they go? I thought that this would be explained in more detail as they actually did the travelling, but how exactly have they created a trail, here?
I mean, they even crossed the trail of Heracles, which they obviously couldn't overpower, so wouldn't that have broken the road they were basically supposed to build for the human world? The one that they were supposed to be sending ingredients back along? Where did all of those ideas run off to? I want to read that manga.
Anyone who actually thought Shima was going to do anything with that maze hasn't been paying attention to this manga.

Well, they take Gourmet Pyramid as a reference. Yet at the same time they forget that place had the ingredient they were searching for. What they are searching for now is an ingredient in a huge continent filled with countless landscapes and crazy environments. Spending 5 chapters with what forms just a small part of that continent makes zero sense.
The map was just to depict one more time how insane Gourmet World is. Nothing else.
Not to mention this probably means Joa is actually a guy, right?
No? Just because Joa isn´t Frohze, doesn´t makes them a man. Why is people so desperate into making Joa a man, even before this chapter? It is so unbelievable that the big bad is a woman? Or both? Or none?

Wasn't the pronouns used for Joa masculine and used by both the enemies and his allies? Or were they only truly gender usual?
I´m pretty sure they used gender neutral in the original japanese. But the translations to english have to decide a gender most of the time. And Joa debuted before we knew how they looked.
Unfortunately most people decide: Face concealed+Chest small/concealed= Male.
Joa might not be a woman either, but definitely not a man, at least not in body, as they are on Frohze´s body.
I still think Joa is Frohze's gourmet cells after taking over her body.
The reason is quite simple: Toriko's inner demon told him that in order to gain full control he would have to gather and eat Acacia's Full Course. In all history, only two people ate it: Acacia and Frohze.
And the final ingredient to the takeover was, of course, the healing water. From that moment the gourmet cells took over the dead body and assimilated it fully, thus giving birth to a new being: Joa, the enigmatic entity born from Frohze herself.
Ichiryuu said Midora knew the healing water was a preparation ingredient for one of the ingredients in Acacia's menu. That ingredient had, of course, to be one that can bring back the dead: CENTER.
Considering this, that Acacia never told anyone except Ichiryuu about its existence makes a lot of sense, if such an ingredient has the amazing power to revive the dead, albeit with results radically different from the idea many gourmet hunters have in mind.
I can not imagine how the world have fought under water
They've already had plenty of experiences in and around water. I don't see how they couldn't have had reasonable fights underwater (and it seems that they must have had some in order to retrieve all that treasure).
Also, I bet that there is plenty of air in that cave maze. You can even see normal land animals drawn in it.
There are even volcanoes in that maze which definitely looked like they were erupting into air, not water.
Too bad we did not get to see the maze… A little disappointed, although the Nitros make up for it.
Does anyone know where to get a good clean version of the 6th year anniversary colour spread? It's awesome!
There are even volcanoes in that maze which definitely looked like they were erupting into air, not water.
While not denying there was air within the maze, there are more volcanoes underwater than on land.

Of course! I was just saying that it looked like they were erupting into air.
Pretty disappointed in this chapter. It was extremely rushed, vague, and…it wasn't fun nor enlightening because once again, it was vague. Oh, but we found out who Joa was so there's that.
If they just spent 2-3 chapters in the maze before Komatsu's "food luck" bailed them out of there that would have been enough. Trying to find their way out they run into a monster and a few chests and they wind up leaving with a treasure that will help them later on in their adventure. Like whatever's probably in that tin can but this time we were shown exactly how they got that chest.
I for one, am gad we didn't get any tedious maze chapters, the sooner we start this arc proper, the sooner we can get to the rushed conclusion.
I am kind of curious why 2 of the blue nitro weren't shown. And I guess the bulky one is their "leader" so to say?
Besides, what have they been doing all the time? Just eating away their days in Gourmet World?

Remember this?
16 chars of no…
Is anyone here that can get the colored Toriko volumes by shueisha? There is a topic for the One Piece ones in the manga section, and a lot of people contributed so they´d be available for everyone, but no clue if someone got the Toriko ones as well (or any other manga)
It looks like voluems 1-9 have color editions:

You can buy them there and read them on a PC. I've tested it. I'm really not that interested in that sorta thing to go about buying them and ripping them. Like, it'd cost a lot and such. If anyone wants to do that, feel free. There's a program called Gadwin PrintScreenPro that allows you to use printscreen and save them to files.
Yeah, but it only gives you a preview. They are cheap but I can´t afford them nor I have any way to buy them

! all these references…
! Brunchy getting impatient was hilarious. Poor guy, he waited two years to see them again!!
Why are we using spoilers when the chapter is out?
Anyway… I love the Bewitching Food World and the homage Shimaboo paid to Terraformars! I caught the reference even before seeing the translator note. xD
Man, "adventure in the land of xxx" chapters are always fun, arent they
And that was a good punchline at the end.
I lost it with the tin can.
I want to live in the bewitching food world, holy cow this chapter was absolutely fantastic
the humor, the whole look and feel of the place, all the little hints, references everywhere - just everything was right
I must have that tin can…
Great chapter! Bewitching food world seems like a very lively place. Love it.
That tin can was the creepiest fucking thing. I was so immensely relieved at Sanis reaction to it.
@Daz:

Yeah, that was probably the most "Japan" thing I've ever seen anywhere.
Except the Terraformars* reference, everything else was fantastic. ALMOST makes me forgive Shima for the labyrinth fiasco. I knew he wouldn't disappoint with Bewitching Food World, and for someone who got introduced during my demonized Cooking Fest, I was surprisingly happy to see Buranchi, and I liked how Shima constantly pulled him back to build up a freaking gag. Good shit.
*I fucking hate Terraformars and everything it stands for, so there's that. Nothing else.
Buranchis character introduction was solid, and easily the best thing about the Cooking Fest.
