Chapter 379 "Douriki" Discussion
-
-
There's still a chance that it's a fake (ooshi seems to think so)
-
Hm, I've just noticed, the three-headed judge's name is Baskerville. Could that be a reference to Arthur Conan Doyle's The Hound of Baskervilles, one of the Sherlock Holmes novels? <_< Heh, makes you wonder just what Oda didn't have a chance to read/watch during his lifetime.
-
Meh, I just go ahead and read the spoiler. It's not like a person can truly summarize the awesomeness that Oda packs into every chapter in a single paragraph. The description always, always falls short of the actual image of it happening.
It's also a hoot to read the fake ones, especially when they're blatantly obvious. I mean, Aokiji vs Lucci? That fight would pretty much begin with a snarky comment from Rob and end with Aokiji freezing his stupid ass. It's about as even a fight as Ace and Coby at this point.

Well,Baskerville really doesn't have anything to do with that storyβ¦..only his name is Baskerville.
I think he more resembles the guy from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
I think Oda's been watching MP a bit too much.... -
I think that the judge's name is more than enough reference. I mean, maybe Oda wanted to make an homage to british culture, so he took the appearance of the three-headed knight from Holy Grail and the name of the best Sherlock Holmes novel. =)
