brook and robin look meh
-
Yeah , finally we can see new GLM coming out, i really like Brook and Franky. Robin is good for me, but at least much better of FAZ. And the new WCF sets looks so adorable ^^.
-
no news about vol.15?
Anyway i like franky, brook, nico olbia and wcf vol.28 (sanji okama is LOL ) -
Now there should be legitimate worry about her…
-
Sharley looks a bit too young with that lipstick. :/ Sanji however looks fabulous. Olvia and Franky are looking really good (except that mouth paint on Olvia). Shirahoshi's boobs are hilarious, I can't help but picture them bobbing around like helium balloons.
-
I love that WCF Kungfu Chopper, Fat Ussop, Caemi and Sanji Okama :) they are nice…
GLC sanji and Ussop also nice... hope I can see more pics :) -
I feel like the wet blanket here LOL! The WCF do look nice, but they'll only look 1/4 that nice when released. If they were still producing them like the first sets, then they'd look the same. Sorry, I'm just bitter >_<;;
The GLC don't seem to have the same feeling to them as the first two sets, but I'll judge them when I have them in my hands. I feel like every set that banpresto comes out with, the first few sets are amazing, then the rest they seem to go lax. All the new mugiwara GLM don't even appeal to me, it makes me sad.
I know feeling this way is due in part to how much i loved these things when they were originally released. It's like being in a long relationship… it starts out so great!! Then over time you start to see less effort and the cracks in the surface XD I want to go back to when everything was great ahaha
sorry for being a debbie downer u_u;;
-
why did they make olvia instead of way more important characters?
-
Eh… Olvia looks ok, although not quite as charming as I thought she'd turn out. Robin's face, what is with Robin's face?!?! Can more or likely give this set a miss, just with many other Banpresto figures. One Piece merch is really getting... underwhelming...
Ah and GLC Usopp looks funny. Really -bad way kinda- funny...
-
Good to see very interesting Banpresto figures. Olvia is looking as beautiful as her daughter and I like Robin's crossed arm pose, very unusual. The Shirahoshi one is going very cute though this image from the machine is clearly not Oda's. Looks like Yozora or Sena. http://livedoor.blogimg.jp/tonytonychoppermania/imgs/f/8/f856c659.jpg
Of the WCF, I like Perona, Caribou and Shyarly.
-
I'm just happy that Robin and Olvia finally get their proper figure treatment. They make look a little rough around the edges but I'm fully satisfied for now. Good day. :3
-
damn it. MUST have Fatsopp … even though I hate Fatsopp...
-
Fatsopp is so fat his belly is leaning, about to fall of the stand at the expo, wahaha.
-
Peeps who ordered Moria or Perona at HLJ should press the "ship if available" button now. :o
-
Let me rephrase it then – proper GLL treatment. Is it clearer now?
-
Am I the only one who feels a little underwelmed over GLL Robin? I look at her and Im…. meh.
This is from someone who has been asking after GLL Robin for months.
-
As someone who's never collected WFC's before, those are looking pretty damn good. I'm thinking of expanding my collection into a line other than POP, but I have to agree with Maggie, it's such a shame the final quality never seems up to par. That's kinda what's been turning me off so far.
In other news, JF-Special Luffy arrived today from Otacute :-) Really please I got him now. Will probably unbox him & Dome Tour Ace next week when I'm off work and share some pictures :)
-
To say that I'm underwhelmed by Robin's GLL is an understatement. This was the product they came out with after all this time? Pose is soooooo boring. Crossed arms. Aside from a cover with Miss-All-Sunday I don't remember her having her arms crossed like that too XD Compare it with just about every other Robin figure out there it feels so dull. Hell I don't even think they were attempting to do Robin. Only female I think that pose would work for would be Hina. Robin should be crossed for attack at least.
So who are the other new men?
new Chop looks nice too…doubt I'll get tho.
-
Nice to know its not just me cyber. I would have accepted her arms crossed as though she was about to use her devil fruit.
-

I agree, she looks very average… Her pose is quite boring and they went the wrong route with her hair, she doesn't have the straight cut at tips anymore...

there is something interesting to read!
http://www.yomiuri.co.jp/national/news/20120530-OYT1T00690.htm From what i understood the police did a chase after the guys who makes sexy figures of One Piece girls and sell them, apparently and of course they don't have the right to do it since Toei is the license owner! -

Shoulda been looking to employ them, hone their skills and make tons more money. Her TS one was okish but All-Sunday Robin resin is still amazing for me. (not so much her face) and pretty much puts a lot of the official products to shame.

I can say that this is not so true. The first and old sets are better compared to the new sets, that is a true story…but they were never as good as those prototypes, never ever! I got all WCF sets and i can say some of the first sets got a horrible paint-job..the only difference between old and new is the material...that's all! Prototype---->always over the top, that's the way it was, and that's the way it is now!

As someone else that also owns every OP WCF, I agree. The prototypes are always better than the released product, but those that are released are still very good. From what I can tell between prototype pics on the internet and what's actually released, the final product is about 80-90% close to the prototype.

Olvia is as perfect companion for Robin. A great surprise there.I feel like the wet blanket here LOL! The WCF do look nice, but they'll only look 1/4 that nice when released. If they were still producing them like the first sets, then they'd look the same. Sorry, I'm just bitter >_<;;

It has happened a couple of time for me too.
And the GLM paint job is going down and down. It's like they sacrificed the quality over quantity… since they distributed the prize item for the Asia (HK, Taiwan, Singapore) market.I can say that this is not so true. The first volume paint job is indeed horrible but the material won it for me. But the 2nd and 3rd are excellent.
For the later sets, I feel they used different material for the prototype and final product?

Not the case for all WCF's. I have had in my hands and seen in person at friend's house many of the new ones and the old ones and I must admit the difference is substantial in some but in others it is almos same quality but with different materials. I think they will do a good job with these new sets. Does anyone has the new #22 to check the quality?
-
22 as in the Amazon Lily set? I have Hancock, Salome and Margaret. Hancock is fine. Forehead is a bit too Dwight Shrute. Margaret's eyes are too big (same as TS Robin) and Salome has a okish paintjob. Like all of Banpresto's stuff. They're hit and miss. Compare a new figure like Makino to an old one like Bonney and it's like two different lines.
Personally the problem for me is that WCF seem to have gotten more expensive over time. (unless you wait and try to get lucky buying a cheap set) and they don't feel like they're worth the price anymore.

new mini supernovas damashi or somthing out now also:

Is it just me or after seeing Olivia's GLL figure I have the urge of having her as a POP???
If Megahouse ever releases her it would be a FANTASTIC opportunity to re-issue Bellemere!!! -
Unboxed my Gekko moriah POP today, haha :-D
And oh yea, it's hollow inside :-/[hide]

Why did I look at my WCF and feel the material don't look the same as the prototypes displayed by Banpresto? That is because I believe Banpresto does it as Megahouse and Alter and everyone else does. They create a Pvc or some sort of material like that for the proto, hand paint it and such. But the version we buy is that which is mass produced with a different material and perhaps even machine painted.

Got it all and opened the new vol.23 and i can say i am VERY happy with the quality, only the material is still very bad, especially on the skin, which is not painted…here is a short review!

Found some more photos
They look like cell phone picsSCultures BIG Zoro

I still want to see proper size comparisons of GLM though…

Yea kept on the plastic on him to keep him clean, hehe.
Your one is the way to u now?! -

Yeah for the later volumes of WCF starting from vol.12 (to be precise vol.0 which is "coincidentally" the time Banpresto decided to expand the Asia version aggressively) they use "colored material" so they can cut cost on painting big portions of the figure. But the result is not compelling for those who own earlier WCFs which are wholly hand painted.
For the prototype, like you said they hand painted the whole figures. I guess they use different material too for that purpose.
That's why the earlier WCF even some have bad painting still have the similar look with the prototype because both the final product and prototype are hand painted. -

That is used to draw in the investors money and collectors' interest.Final product - factory line, moulded, touched up, painted, assembled by hordes of chinese workers clocking in their times
Add in the cost saving method of using colored materialResults will differ..
Banpresto has no need to fear that their products won't sell. They already have collectors waiting in line, and suckers like us. Haha

Unfortunately they have too. I think the desire over WCF has gone down. We can take samples from this forum.
The enthusiasm is not the same anymore. Of course there are still completionists who would collect all volumes of WCF but one of my dear friends have decided to sell his whole WCF collections (even from the Strong World volumes) after disappointing later volumes. -

I want some of them but I CAN'T afford them. If places like Mandarake or Aikoudo could let bank transfer, I would buy the interesting ones.
