Luffy seems like that in all of his games he's in, lol. Even in DON he was powerful, I wiped the floor while playing as him, and Luffy is typically in my JUS/JSS decks too. I also like playing as him in the GB games too.

Well, we really haven't been shown his or much of anyone else's moves. But I think it's way too late to be replacing attacks and etc. The game is about to ship so we're at the point of no return, I'd assume.

Plus if they don't have it in, they'd have to make a sprite, which can take a long time too.

i'm pretty sure for stuff like choppers transformation or at least the heavy point which we knew he still had they would've asked oda. It's not like it was a huge secret or anything

I don't like it either, and I don't think many people do. "kiacking asses" is different from a reasonable move. It'd be like if Enel's 2 special would be Raigo, and his 3 special is two Raigos.

they could have invented a special more realistic according to the manga.
we never saw luffy using haki(vulcanization) on 2 limbs, so i take that he cant use it like he uses it in the special.
well i dont like it.

just noticed it. in the game franky is the new luffy.

Well we really have no idea what any of the Straw Hats are truly capable of. I wouldn't shoot all of their moves down just yet.

So after Franky was added, I did some looking at the urls, and Nami and Chopper have their own gifs already up on the server too.

I also checked if there was one labeled as 10, maybe Hody or Vivi or something, but there wasn't one.

If shiki's playable then i think it's almost definatley 48 characters now. The question is whether or not the pre-robin, franky and brook are playable or not. I'm gonna assume they are for now
Also it seems we have a level based on strong world. I wonder if that means we'll get an island based on the film even if it's a bonus island

Shiki….hmmmm not particularly someone I care about since as far as I'm concerned the movie is filler. I feel so sorry for the likes of Bon, 3 and other important chars who are getting the shaft for some of these.

Oh well. No excuse to not have Smoker and Hina in now~

Actually I prefer Smoker, VDD and Moria playable and Hina and Vista as support character. But Vista is impossible ;(

Plus, Shiki's whole escape from Impel Down was mentioned in the manga itself. So, at least, the character isn't filler.

Anyways, after the announcement of Coby, this managed to restore my faith in the game somewhat. My only interest in the game is ripping sprites from it, but at least some of the new characters interest me, rather than it being a bunch of people like Coby or Doflamingo.

Just the post time skip Strawhats, which I'm not sure if they count as 9 new characters or not. Otherwise no, they're still holding off on most of the new supports for some reason.

Oda said "Strong World is the last adventure of 17old Luffy", so it can be considered canonical story.

Woah! Shiki! This game looked so cool at first, then it looked pretty crappy with Law, Shanks, and X. Drake. But Wapol, Lucci, Vivi, and Enel, now Shiki!? I'm so excited! Is it too early to call who I main with?

The only way for Strong World to fit in the canon is to place it between Thriller Bark and Sabaody. I suppose it's not impossible as we really don't know how long that leg of the journey took. I like to think of there being some time between those two arcs much like the return to the blue sea and landing at Longring Longland. I don't really consider the movie itself canon, but the character Shiki is definitely canon. The movie can be fit into the story, but it will never impact future events of the manga so in that regard it'll never really be fully cannon.

The movie Strong World isn't canon, but Shiki most certainly is. At any rate, I think it's an interesting choice and he would prove to be quite an interesting character. He would have a fightings style that most certainly is unlike any other character. I certainly wasn't expecting this but it's a nice surprise.

Just a few more characters and we'll be have our designated number. Now I'd just like to know officially if it'll be released in the US so I can make a decision on whether to wait and buy it then or spend the money now.

This would bring us to 44 total characters

If we have 48 total, then I would most definitely assume Moria to be a playable character. The one thing that concerns me is that his sprite in Gigant Battle 1 had him lying down and couldn't easily be turned into a playable character. They'd have to redo Moria's sprite entirely. It would certainly not be unreasonable but I fear that laziness may be the reason for Moria's exclusion.

Then again there should be room for 48 total characters based on 24 characters per page….Moria and 3 others should be in. Hyozou may be a playable character....but Zoro did break his swords last chapter. I don't know if he'll really be as strong an adversary as we think. Guess time will tell. If Hyozou isn't playable, I think that really only leaves pre-TS Robin, Franky, and Brook. I wish Bon Clay, Daz Bones, Mr. 3, Arlong, Kuro, Krieg, and Foxy made it in. They're really the only characters missing. I'm also kind of surprised Sengoku isn't playable as he's shown enough to make a moveset by Gigant Battle standards.

That really isn't that much of an issue. They have to make tons of new sprites for all support characters turned playable. The only difference is that there isn't already an idle standing sprite like the others.

yeah it'll just be a one of his specials will be the support attack. That seems to be the way they're going with them.

I don't think that's the case anymore considering vivi's support is different colour and style to her playable so it's very possible that moriahs will be the same.
I'm kind of happy with this roster so far they just need to confirm smoker, marco, moriah and dofla and i'll be set.
In the first gigant i mained: Sanji, Usopp, Crocodile, Ace and Akainu but this time i think i will main: TS-Sanji, Cobymeppo, Vivi, Law and Smoker if he is playable otherwise TS-Usopp
I don't count using luffy as a main because you practically have to use him loads as part of the game.

The first time I beat story mode, I always used Luffy. But then, do to my inability to read Japanese, I reset my whole game. So the second time in story mode, I kicked some respective asses as the Queer Queen himself. Heehaw~~!

In the Japanese version i used Luffy and ace for most of the game and then croc and akainu for later on missions but in the english version i used everyone except Kuma, Magellan, Whitebeard, Blackbeard, aokiji and kizaru.
I became really good with usopp, zoro, sanji and hancock and so in the jap version of this one i want to use characters who you wouldn't expect like vivi and coby

well everyone is hoping for marco but i think that his moveset is going to be very similar to ace.
dont take me wrong i want marco to be playable.

If he were included I don't think it'd be anything similar to Ace's. They really have nothing in common when it comes to how they fight.

However, I'm waiting to see what part Hyouzou will play in the game and with Hody in, I'm definitely just awaiting Decken to be confirmed playable. It'd be strange if the main antagonists of the first arc after the two years were not in a game including all of the Current Straw Hats with the title of "New World" wouldn't it? Looking at the website there are five slots under what I assume is a Fishman Pirates title. Arlong is one and we know Hody will be one but that leaves three more. Something else to note is that usually the playable characters are marked at the beginning of the row and the rest are just supports. Arlong is second in the row, so it may be only Hody as playable which I certainly hope is not the case. Currently, there are 41 playable characters. There are only be a handful of spots left…..

I'm with you on Smoker but Hina is a character I can see always being neglected a playable slot.

It seems like everyone agrees that Smoker should be a playable character. It's just silly that he's not usually. -With the exceptions of Grand Battle and Unlimited Series.

Do you think there will be a wiki with all of the missions transltated, like the 1st one had? I also hope they don't do the, beat with ? charater. There is no way i'm replaying the same mission 24 times, just to see who it was, even more so in this game, now that the size is double.

At least with the "beat with ?" missions, you could guess based on the actual story.

I see no reason why they would add the missing pre two year Straw Hats. It would seem a bit…..redundant. . But for attacking points, Decken indeed as more than Caribou, Coby and is an important part of this arc. He's thrown axes, has been shown to wield two one sided axes, thrown arrows, people, even Noah (which could be a special) and can attack with knives in his feet. I think they can work with it looking at how little they can work with (Shanks and others). So, I suppose you could be right. Jinbei could be there instead of with the other Shichibukai and that would certainly fill all the slots and would make sense. Hopefully we'll get some more characters known in the next couple of days with the blog update. Hopefully they have him and a few others that should of had slots before some of these guys. However, I won't complain too much. They've packed a lot in this game already.
