For Spider-Man, the trade paper backs are for the most part broken up into arcs so I guess you could read them out of order. As I posted previously "Crime and Punisher" comes before "Death and Dating".

Speaking of Spider-Man, I just picked up the first issue of Clone Saga retelling. Takes me back to the original that ran while I was a little kid, and I really think it could be great, since I love the idea, it just took way too long.

@The:
Thanks. Do I have to read Supergirl to fully understand it?
actually no
on supergirl the series is extremely erratic specially on the start
at the beginning she arrives to earth and have amnesia but have some flashes that make her think that her father send her to kill superman (:getlost:) in the mean time the stories are really not good
on one chp she try to go to a school to have a secret identity but as a real geek(like clark) she leave the school and her identity at the end of the issue
on other ran she go to the future and meet a guy that say she will cure cancer, at the same time she meet a little boy with cancer, longstory short the boy dies and that story suck incredibly
the cast later includes Captain Boomerang jr, who at that time was with the outsiders and the humor that he provides improve greatly the story, also Terra 3 made her first appearance here
one of the most interesting things is that on mostly all supergirl she dresses really really slutty(a supertight top and a mini mini mini skirt) and her attitude is pretty bad
when New Krypton came her real father appears and said that the reason of her state is cause she suffered a extended poisoning on kryptonite (or some shit like that, remember she came in a rocket that got inside kryptonite meteorite) which caused her to have hallucinations, amnesia, fake memories and bitchy attitude
he used a machine to clean her system and pretty much retcon much of the last 30-40 eps and make her less bitchy and not dress slutty anymore =(
you can perfectly start from new krypton to read supergirland as for superman i recommend you the Escape from Bizarro World chps from Action Comics
is only 3 chps but s incredibly funny and entertaining
and after up, up and away is a saga of some alien commercian that came for something (dont remember what) and end up stealing all the metahumans and the Eiffel tower and other stuff, at the end he says something about being a third kryptonian on earth (being supergirl and superman the other 2) which led to the third kryptonian saga, which is pretty much meaningless since she leaves the planet and never pops up again =/ you can skip that
then Last Son is the entry of Cris Kent, the first 3 ep and the last 2 were divided on 2 runs cause DC wanted more stories of him on superman, dont want to spoil but at the end he get lost, even after the end of Last Son, he keeps poping on action and superman setting the stories before LS
then Atlas (lame) then another one whose name i dont remember but it shows that the Kandor that Superman owns was a fake then Brainiac and New Krypton start -
Im finally reading the Watchmen comic..
also reading :
Fray-Joss whendon
Fantastic Four-1234
Ultimate spiderman 1and a whole complete book on a character called galactus

Oh man, Hercules (Thorcules) was the best best BEST!!!! this week.
It was a classic battle of Hercules vs Thor with a twist (Thorcules vs Hercuthor) and it was just .. the best.I haven't laughed so hard in forever, I wish Herc would team up with Deadpool, these two are the funniest comics I've read in any type of print.
-
Hellblazer #260 came out today. Nice. Thanks to John's shitty shitty luck with dogs, in general, I'm forever amused whenever he comes across one:

I just finished recently vol 2 of fantastic four, it had the cover of the hulk issue. It was awesome. I also read the death & dying one. I can't believe he still haven't found the spider tracer murderer…or is it someone else?
I just picked up Spider-Man Noir #1, I will be reading it some other time
-
The spider-tracer murderer is revealed in a later issue.. it's not that great of a storyline plot IMO, keep reading or read Wiki for the spoiler.
I did like the consequences of the plot leading to Pete hooking up with a character as a result of the "grief"

Just got an overall Ultimatum set of March on Ultimatum, Ultimatum: Spider-Man, Ultimatum, and Ultimatum Requiem. Marathon read them and they were all spectacular for the most part.
March gave a good What If while also filling me in on recent events of the other Ultimate books I don't collect (I have all of the Ultimate Spider-Man and the Ultimates, but none of X-Men or FF).
Ultimatum: Spider-Man was really emotion invoking. I was left with my jaw dropped and thinking they had better be friggin' kidding at the last issue.
Quick question, is 133 the final issue of Ultimate Spider-Man? And is the current Ultimate Comics Spider-Man and Ultimate Comics Avengers a direct sequel to the Spider-Man and Ultimates comics following Ultimatum? I was told that they are a complete reboot and everything ended with Ultimatum, but I just can't see that as true.
Ultimatum was the most exciting and most disappointing at the same time. It really should have been 8 issues, because it seemed rushed and erratic at several points. While the complete insanity of the event all stacked and provided a great story, it missed too much development. Also, this book should have some sort of tag for parental advisory. I wouldn't want my nephews checking out Ultimatum for a while since a lot of people die in particularly gruesome and heinous ways, most notably Dr. Strange. (Who was that person that looked at his dead body and said, "Sigh… Stephen" by the way?)
Ultimatum Requiem was good. Spider-Man was again emotional, and alleviated a sense of shock from me with it's final panel. FF filled in a lot of what was left out previously, but just left me awe-struck at the closing. Still don't get why Dormammu turned into that guy with a necklace, tho. X-Men was strange, with Rogue down at one moment and Jean down at the next. Then a single panel with Captain America. It was too jumbled, in my opinion.
-
…you actually l_iked_ Ultimatum?
All it amounted to in the end was Jeph Loeb taking a gigantic piss all over the Ultimate Universe.
That flood? Yeah. -
Hey Namor is godlike in Ultimate comics, "that flood" makes sense if you replace Namor with Thor/Zeus/Sentry and flood with the sky falling and killing everyone.
-
…you actually l_iked_ Ultimatum?
All it amounted to in the end was Jeph Loeb taking a gigantic piss all over the Ultimate Universe.
That flood? Yeah.It needed to be fleshed out more like I said. For what it was, it was good. I enjoyed the Spider-Man sides more than the main story.
I wouldn't say a giant piss, just a major genocide of characters, good and bad.
Again, though, can someone tell me if the Ultimate Comics line follows from the Ultimatum?
-
The new volume of Ultimates and the Ultimate Spider-man ongoing follow it, the rest are cancelled. In fact Ultimates was supposed to be cancelled too, but they decided Steve chasing around his son the red skull was a good storyline.. for a soap opera ffs

Im becoming a fan of Batman and now am rreading
Batman: the Killing Joke
Batman:death Mask (Batman Manga..its all 4 of the Death mask issues)
Batman: Secretsthe Killing Joke looks the most intresting to me right now.
although the way joker looks in Secrets is weird ,IMO -
I read th8is weekend amazing spider man Crime & Punisher and New Ways to Die. They were kind of good, especially anti-venom, but do they really need to make that damn Norman Osborn into some Duex Ex machina crap (hopefully someone will kill him soon…for good, or finds evidence that he is a mass murdering SOB, though that doesn't look likely yet)
Not finished with it yet buy I also started X-Men Messiah Complex (does the whole thing conclude in that same vol, or is there more)?
-

You're only going to get more and more Norman as you go on. He's built up huge right now. But, when he does finally fall, he'll be out a while, because its going to be bad.
-
i finally catch up with spiderman
i honestly think that one more day kill the spider-man stories
american son was super cliche, it was too obvious that harry was not the father
and this clone thing doesnt seem to go anywhere
i miss the iron spider suit and the evolve or die powers, hell i would be pleased by the venom spiderman -

Not really, the way the Siege storyline is shaping up, Doom seems to be getting more punishment than Norman, and honestly it seems as though he'll get the grunt of the hero attacks while Norman just goes to jail/gets beat up once.
Norman wins again, he had the world, Doom gets the punishment for it.

Anyone read X-Men Messiah Complex? So the sequel is called Messiah War? I'm really curious at what will happen to the baby?
-
after messiah complex there were released 2 series
Cable and X-Force
on X-Force, cyclops build a team made of, Wolfbane, Warhawk, Wolverine, X-23 and others that can kill the enemies of the X-men, something like X-men dont kill, X-force does
the series is great, extremely bloody and some gore tooand there is Cable, after the end of Messiah complex Cable grabs the baby and flee to the future, i wont go into details in case you havent read it but is incredible but the main villain is really annoying instead of evil
later like 10 or more chps is Messiah War, Cyclops finally finds Cable location and sends X-Force for the baby
it was ok for a crossover but nothing like MC
starting next year will start the last part of the messiah trilogy named Second Coming
when the baby finally returns as a fully grown woman
im looking forward to it -
I got a new Marvel Book today, which was Civil War: Young Avengers & Runaways. It was a really good book in my opinion. And this is the first book of the Civil Wars books that I read.
-
I read the other day book one of amazing spiderman (the one by Straczynski). It was really good…btw, do we get to see Ezekiel again?
Also, since I probably will never get the comic for a long while, did Madam Spider really die, or did something happen to her? (speaking of her, is there any issue that talks about her past)? Also, how expensive is the original chapters that include Ben Reilly and all that other stuff (ASM, of course)?
-
Read Batman: Arkham Asylum recently… Very good story, but a bit brief AND I CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHAT THE JOKER IS SAYING!!
Anyways, currently into DC Vertigo.
And a question - Since Maleos got pulled down anyone know of any other websites? (I do buy comics, but I live in the UK and it seems to have less choice of comics than the USA.)
-
Just use amazon or forbidden planet. That's how I've gotten Preacher, Lucifer, Sandman, Hellblazer, Invisibles, Scapled, Jack of Fables, Transmetropolitan & Fables; and that's a goodly chunk of the Vertigo label right there.
If you're near London there's also Orbital & Gosh.
-
I live in London and never heard of those!
Thanks!
-
No problem. Orbital used to be fairly easy to spot on Charing cross road, but has now gone into a dusty recess near Leicester square.
Years back Forbidden Planet used to be fairly easy to find on New Oxford Street but has since moved to the top of Shaftsbury avenue.
Gosh has always been out of the way opposite the Shaftsbury avenue, and I only found out about that one by word of mouth.
It's like they go out of their way to disappear from sight.
-
One of my friends from High School is now running a card/comic shop now. I just order an used copy of She-Hulk Vol. 2 for $7.00. Which isn't bad in my opinion. ^_^ Since I'm getting She-Hulk book 1 for X-Mas.

I really hope it is X-man. I always liked him. Thanos, Odin, Mephisto, and Beyonder are beyond Norman's scope to me. Scarlet Witch is still too early to bring back after House of M. Molecule Man would work in very well, though.
-
In the recent Amazing spider man, did the public find out that Norman is an actual bad guy? Like seriously, its like they are coming w/ this Lex Luthor thing, where they elect him Pres, and other things, even though they know he is a bad guy (or do they)?
Wait though, aren't Thanos, Odin, Mephisto, and Beyonder villians in their seperate comics (or whatever)?

no they didnt
thats the worst thing of marvel right now
Norman is the main villain in all comics, no exception and the public still loves him =/and he killed the Punisher and will transform him Frankenstein
i personally think is the Beyonder, it explain his role in the Illuminati mini
the Illuminati came, mark his territory and he made some kind of deal with Norman to see how that would work out
or could also be Mephisto, he sold is soul to get all the stuff
he shooting the Skrull queen is just not good enough to get that much power -
Just finished Legion of Three Worlds. The story was pretty cool, but for the love of God…can these people just not write a good, memorable fight?
-
@Yuugi's:
Just finished Legion of Three Worlds. The story was pretty cool, but for the love of God…can these people just not write a good, memorable fight?
I was planning to buy that soon. So all the action is lame?
-
Well, it's the usual cluttering up the page story and dialogue, with the odd punch here or there.
-
Just finished reading Books of doom.
Very intresting story about the Dr. Doom characterright now im reading X-men Essential (Uncanny X-men #145-163 and specials 1-3)
-
You should check out What if Secret War, it's probably the best Doom centered story I've ever read.
Also Siege sucks, it's going to ruin the past 2 decent years of Marvel (not to say they haven't made mistakes) and go back to the bland and boring trio of crap.
Non-JMS Thor is crap.
Steve Rogers is crap, Bucky rocks.
Invincible Iron man post Civil War is the best Iron Man comic ever MADE.
This will all be ruined by Siege. Screw you Marvel.PS. Dr Voodoo issue 2 is the worst turn from OMGWTFBBQHAX best comic ever in issue 1, to CRAP in issue 2.
-
Non-JMS Thor is crap.
Steve Rogers is crap, Bucky rocks.First of all, we don't know that it will suddenly become lame. I think there is plenty that can be done with the characters post-Siege.
JMS has brought Thor back in a fantastic way, but he's hardly the only capable writer. Hell, he wrote the most unforgivably awful story I have ever read with that Gwen Stacy had children with Norman Osborn business. I thought One More Day was nothing terrible, but that story was the worst change I have ever read. Thor's biggest problem was going from the cool Thor bound to Donald Blake (as he is again) to that horrid Eric Masterson ( I think that's his name) with the stupid full beard.
Steve Rogers is the greatest hero of all time. In my opinion, that is. Go back and read issue 1-24 of Captain America and tell me those weren't great with Steve at the helm. The Theater of War and Timely Classics One-Shots are all very good for the most part. I am more excited for Who Will Wield the Shield than I was for Reborn, and I actually hope Steve leaves it to Bucky since he passed it on. I doubt that, though, as, despite Bucky being an amazing character and a better example of present-day America, Steve has that timeless ideal exemplified like no other.
However, I will be so disappointed if Bucky just becomes Winter Soldier as his new title, even a costume redux to American Soldier would be just ok. I'm not sure how the classic Bucky outfit would look on a full-grown man, but that'd be a good way to restart Young Allies with Toro since Toro was brought back by Avengers/ Invaders. He can't be Nomad since he gave that costume to Rikki Barnes. I hope the fallout of events will be very good either way.
Ed Brubaker and Alex Ross are both simply a blessing with how they are cleaning up and giving a grandiose origin to the classic Marvel U. I always thought they had some very cool characters that are finally shining. Waiting got the trade to come out for Marvels Project and The Torch because the snippets of both have looked great. Just a quick question, is Torch a present-day revival or a WW2 era story? It'd be cool as a revival because now all the major Invaders would be in the present, but it seems a bit soon since he was just turned into that virus and buried in Captain America: The Man With No Face.

Astonishing X-Men: Issue 1 Motion Comic is now out on Marvel's youtube page.

I got my copy of She-Hulk Vol .2: Superhuman Law from the new card/comic book store in my town. Even through the book was used (I payed $7.00 for it). It look pretty much brand new.
Anyway I love the book, and I laugh my ass off at the cameo of Howard the Duck, who sueing Geogre Lucas. xD. I'll be getting She-Hulk Vol. 1 for X-mas. Since the reason I bought vol. 2, since it was out of print.

Here are the Marvel books that I'm getting for X-mas. ^_^.
She-Hulk Vol. 1 : Single Green Female
Astonishing X-Men Vol. 4 - Unstoppable
X-Men: Wolverene and Kitty Pryde (Hardcover edition)I might get another book or so. But I don't know for sure yet. ^_^.
-
@Syan:
What the Hell? Who was that and what was the context?
It's bro love. Totally platonic.
-
Read the Issue.
This fucker shows up in the issue, the deadliest guy from the good guys after Wolverine, and he tells Hank Pym whom he doesn't particularly like that he loves him all of the sudden completely out of context.I read the issue all the way through, and I literally stopped myself to read it again. The line makes no fucking sense aside from weirdly drawn panel that people can laugh at for generations, like this:
It is completely out of context with the greater Marvel Universe and anything that would come out of Clint Barton's mouth, stop defending closet writers forcing characters to say shit that they have no business saying.
-
The other day I got nightfall part 1 and 2…I'll be reading the first one soon. I want to know though, there is some enemies that escaped from prison I don't know about, can you tell me when they first appear in batman comics?
