@Ravager:
Im by the chp 31 of Y the last man and still no boring chps =)
See, it got better like I told you, though TBH I didn't find any of the early issues dull.
last spiderman i read was 559
im 41 chps to get to the 600 and i dont read captain america so
I'm not that psyched for the milestone issues, but Hulk #600 (or was it 601) will have Van Lente and Greg Pak writing it and Pak writes some of the BEST Hulk stories (his Skaar started slowly but has recently become A LOT better), plus Van Lent is one of my fav. writers from Marvel, so this should be entertaining ^_^
@Ravager:
is sad to see marvel this days
it hasnt had a good event since before house of M
Actually Marvel is at it's best right now, and even if their major events aren't that great, their books are still fun for me. I mean hell if anything, the Cosmic series are Marvel's best ATM, especially Guardians of the Galaxy.
house of M sucked cause well no more mutants, and then even less mutants after that, new x-men should have been titled dead x-men or tortured x-men
As much as I would dislike the great reduction in Mutant population, it will be undone some day, though so far it's the only 'event' that has lasted the longest so far.
…and really the X-Books do have some good series, off the top of my head-
Academy X (yeah I know it ended years ago, but it's still awesome IMO)
Current X-Men
X-Force
DeadPool
Wolverine
Cable (Well I've enjoyed it so far, but geez will they kill off Cable already please?!)
X-Factor, I hear is still a good one
Civil war killed Captain America ,
Actually I heard that Brubaker had initially intended to kill Steve in the Captain America series, but then made it a part of Civil War.
You really should read Brubaker's Captain America it's pretty good and well written.
and make iron man a giant dick
I personally felt that what Tony did was right by his own measures and seemed like the normal thing for him to decide, you might want to read the previous and current Ironman series as they really flesh out his character and give some good insight on him.
WWH was decent since it was just hulk beating up everybody who btw deserved it but it was awfully drawn
I didn't enjoy WWH mainly because…where's the World War, and because the ending seemed predictible, plus there was the whole big bug betrayal thingy.
Warbound, that takes place after WWH was pretty good though.
then Secret Invasion took 2 years redeem Hank Pym from being the great ass he was,
I've always wondered about this, but Hank, since House of M, was abducted by the Skrulls so he hadn't done anything since House of M and during SI.
Also, Hank is disliked because of the one time (I repeat THE ONE TIME) he hit Janet, but Tony and Reed Richards had done some more ridiculous stuff over the past years.
de-powered tony stark and made him a fugitive
Which has been great so far, like I said read the current Ironman series, it's pretty good.
and made the great return of Nick Fury just to crash in flames at the end by making Osborn the big great thing just cause he beat 10 superheroes on killing first the alien queen
…and if Tony were the one to kill the Skrull Queen he would've been celebrated as a hero as well, or any hero for that matter. For the sake of later stories, Norman was made the big guy in charge, and so far, I personally have no complaints about it, I've still enjoyed the various Marvel books as I had previously even if they don't have any major connections to Dark Reign.
and now Dark Reign
which it will take twice the tie-ins of SI and EVERYBODY KNOWS what the end will be
Osborn will do something stupid and evil and all the world will see that he is evil and crazy (cause had being the green goblin wasnt enough) then he will fall and will try to take as most heroes he can down with him, then pretty much nick fury or tony will return to power, thats it
a story where you already know the ending is never that good
You could say the same thing about WWH and Civil War, where in the case of CW the whole unregistered heroes will be omitted a few years from now, the one thing it serves is to give a setting or status quo for certain series to have stories told in them.
In fact you could say that about various story arcs in comics in general, where in the end the heroes/main characters usually win. It's HOW and the aftermath of these events or stories that matters.
I mean take One Piece for example, you know that at the end of each story arc, there'll usually be a big fight, and usually Luffy will win, but you still enjoy reading that arc for the contents and stuff that happen in it.
Also Osborn fucking up is a given, since Doom and Loki themselves expect that to happen.
