Was that Apollo Justice in the shadowed charactrers in the middle of the vid?!
Nah it might've been that attorney with the orchestra conductor theme, part of his hair resembles Apollo's.
Though a cameo of young Apollo is possible.
Was that Frank Sahwit I saw (pun not intended) in there? Never expected to see him again. Looks like the second case must take place at a prison of sorts.
Ugh, I wish they'd focus more on a new Apollo game instead…
But eh. They've got their mind on this game now, so no use in complaining. I was very pleased with the first Perfect Prosecutor game, so I'm really looking forward to this one.
Also, I hope Shi-Long Lang makes a re-appearance, or at least I hope they provide some background info as to what's happened to him since the first game.
@Mr.:

Maybe they got negative backlash due to how Phoenix was portrayed in it?
I personally would like to see a new Apollo Justice game, even if they choose to go on with Phoenix having lost his job.
…just don't put in Pearls and have her be a tsundere:ninja:

AMAI NA!
One of the turnabouts feature the President of Zheng Fa, so maybe he'll pop up in at least one turnabout?
…and yes that did seem like a silhoutte of Frank Sawhit in the trailer.
It looks WAY more interesting than the first at least
I REALLY want that game in your avatar but I simply cant find it anywhere
One thing I hope Kay does in the game is stop talking about being a Great Thief, that almost gave me a headache with how many times she'd repeat it @_@

Hmm do you mean the game itself or a ROM of it? If you're wondering what's it called-
http://apforums.net/showthread.php?t=31178
The game isn't available in Europe yet though.
i'd like a new phoenix or apollo but eh. i like this too
The great judgess voice, was it Robin's?º
I don't want another AA game, or at least not in the form that it was. In each game they've looked for ways to make it more interactive, and AAI had the best structure yet. This one looks like you'll actually be able to decide whether to be a defence attorney or a prosecutor, which seems pretty cool.
Like to see it looks like at least two of gumshoes three detective tools from "rise form the ashes" will make an appearance in this one too.
^Do you mean the metal detector and Missile? Because I think they first appeared in the 4th turnabout of the first game.
Speaking of which, I'm rather pleased with how Miles' character developed since the first Phoenix Wright game.
Yes, you're right, it was the boathouse. Been a while.
Another Phoenix game wouldn't make too much sense (unless we got to experience all the joys of hobo phoenix in court) and I really wouldn't like to play another Apollo game. So this is easily the best route they could have gone down.
phoenix's "bad day in court" didn't happen immediately after the 3rd game. there's still room for more shenanigans.
His disbarring incident happens 2 months after the end of Trial and Tribulations. Would be pretty hard to fit a full game into those 2 months.
really. i thought it was several years after. oops….

Unless they could figure out a way to top Trials & Tribulations which I don't think they ever intended to do, I don't see the point in trying really.
You guys missed the best part of the trailer! The return of one of my favorite characters:
! UdrxE5FvfNs
He was in the first trailer, we discussed it in a previous thread.

Ah, well I apologize then. Definitely pumped to see him return though.

i don't expect them to top trials and tribulations. it can still be good though. :)
but ya. now that i know there was only a 2 month gap it kinda makes it hard. :\

IMO they could just retcon it from ever happening…and in turn change how the events of Apollo Justice went, or make a new AJ game that has nothing to do with the first one.
Oh and-
No this isn't a photoshop, but the scene itself is easy missed.
From what I've read, the upcoming Professor Layton crossover is partly a gambit on the part of both Capcom and Level 5 to get Takumi's creative juices flowing to get him up for another game in the main series. Let's hope it works.
Before this game was announced I thought it would've been nice to make an Investigations-styled game starring post-badge Phoenix. Take it as an opportunity to tie up some loose ends and have a bit more interaction with some of the Apollo Justice-era characters like Trucy and Kristoph.
Wonder why there isn't an English trailer yet? JP release date is in Feb. IIRC, couldn't Capcom USA just translate the non in-game text from the first trailer and release that?
Furthermore, if CoJ finishes a turnabout, couldn't they just send it's data/info to Capcom USA and have them translate it? That way the release of the game wouldn't be so far apart…
While off topic, there isn't a general Phoenix Wright series thread I believe.
So…

! Looks like we get to play as Gregory, Edgeworth's father, during another flashback case.
! And I guess Chad got tired of jobbing all the time, so he grew an afro and became a waiter/chef/dancer.
God damn it Capcom just take my money now! Well, translate and release it over then take my money!
here are the soundtracks

i think pursuit arranged is better then the 8-bit version
I'm a little disappointed with the music being all synthetic compared to the first Investigations game.
Looking forward to this. Even if I only bought the first a week ago.

lol, relax you've got about a whole year before this game gets released in English.
Yeah. I don't suppose we'll get anything as awesome as this either will we?
We'd be lucky to get the phone strap .___.

i understand where your coming from. though, for me, i grew up loving music made of beeps and boops, so it's all cool to me.

! Seriously, is he the final boss of one of the cases? If he is, so damn, I was expecting someone more badass than Manfred, Gant or Alba, but looks like lame, but I can't judge now, only playing to know.
Seems like the fantranslation was finished a few days ago.

Layton vs Phoenix is out in the US today!
Got it today, but won't get around to it until I finish the AA5 DLC case.
Getting the game was a small hassle, though. I went to pick up my pre-paid reserved copy at Gamestop, and they told me the system doesn't have a pre-order under my name. They then tried to have me buy a new copy, which amused me. Long story short, it turns out that when I pre-ordered it two weeks ago, they messed up my number when they put it in the computer and it was reserved in a different guy's account.
About LaytonXPhoenix:
! Of all the mysteries of Professor Layton series, this one has the most ridiculous explanation. I mean really, poisoned water that makes people pass out when hear the specific sound of silver?
I've only played up to the second cross-examination in the prologue so far. I found the Layton part to be pretty dry, mysterious cloaked figures and car crashes notwithstanding, but once I got to the Ace Attorney part (which is the half of the game that most people seem to look forward too) things started picking up. Too bad Dual Destinies stole its thunder on the whole 3D court stuff.
My biggest issue so far (aside from sucking on some of the puzzles) is that the text scrolling speed is really slow. It's mostly fine for the Layton characters, but for the Ace Attorney ones it just seems to crawl. Also if I were editting the script, I would've had Phoenix and Maya use American spellings, not British.
The Layton series always seems to have puzzles for the flimsiest reasons–- "Oh you say you're Prof. Layton? If you were really him you'd be able to easily solve this puzzle I have conveniently on hand."
...and the like. Still on the Layton part myself, hopefully I'll get to the Phoenix Wright portion soon.

It seems they didn't bother to revise the European version of the translation, which is ok, it's just different.
I've been having to play it on just the weekend, I've been too busy with school work. I'm really impressed and I like it more than I thought I would.
So… about GS5. What's everyone's thoughts on this development?
http://kotaku.com/first-look-at-sherlock-holmes-in-the-new-ace-attorney-1632889180/all
Sherlock Holmes is in fact Gumshoe's ancestor.
What are you talking about? He's clearly Layton's ancestor.
