Chapter 600: "The Island of Restarting" Discussion
-
-
Thanks for the chapter dude!
-
@Don:
You have to read some comments in context to get them.
I pretty much got it Don. He said that Rayleigh wasn't that important a character so as to justify the hype of a 100 chapter, so he didn't quite get that it was a storyline landmark at the time.
I'm saying Rayleigh is pretty much the one of the most important supporting characters we've had in a long time. So I don't agree.

asked in spoiler thread but was too late so here goes
Just a question for someone with the ability to read Japanese - do you know if Brook is speaking in his Gentalmanly way or is he all rock star still? (Particularly to the managers as that is a convo and not in the mic to his fans) [Doesn't really convey it in the English language all that well]
Thanks -
Nah, it fits his character. And yet, both he and Sanji burst into flames as they prepared to fight… Or is that just Sanji?
No… Only Sanji has the epic SSJ fire aura :ninja:
-
@Gyanzack: Lol well spotted.
i re read but i'm sure that rayleigh is more important than Whitebeard in the story plot!!! cause he help the crew in all way possible….
@usoppspell: my last "it's not important" was ironicUm… I was actually agreeing with you.
@Don:

I hope you understand that I was dissing Sea as well. Not in a bad way either, I just disagree. Rayleigh was a big event within the story and one of the main reasons the Strawhats are where they are now.
Not worth the workup though, really.
-
@Don:
I already told you that it has not necessarily to be forcing and rushing the plot.
I see your point that you want the story to develop without anything that bothers it..just Oda making his story without looking on anything else which could distract that..simple as that and iam agreeing here with you.Iam not rly behind every 00-chapter has to have something important, i just thought it would be nice but i can live without it.
JUST IF the possibility is there to make something more noticeable a chapter later to have it on chapter 600 instead of 599 isnt a bad thing to do in my eyes as long as the plot doesn
t change.For example Oda planned that they meet a fishman before FI..but to have FI introduced on chapter 600 Oda decides to introduce that fishman after the crew saw FI instead of before.
Nothing rly changed in the plot but we have something more memorable on chapter 600.Sure 25 xharas are more important than him but he still was good to make everyone goes "Oww my god the former vice capt
n of Roger", which is like i said enough to make such a chapter a bit more spicy…nothing groundbreaking but still a cool addition, don
t you think?Oda being terrible on giving an aproximate of how long a plot will go on is a given (we are in the 12th year of a 5 year manga), I still can't belive that he made the straw hat separation and the timeskip of 2 years end coincide.
We all know that he's not a man who gives up in his plans, or else he wouldn't feel that this was his manga.
Then he didn't knew how long it would take him to show Raileigh, or Beat Enel, or make Brook declare that they are alive.
And yes, it made a kickass chapter, but.. aren't almost 60% of One Piece Chapters Kickass? It would have been less kickass if it was 501 or 499? wouldn't it had a lot more DON if they got to the red line in chapter 500?

I agree with u!!!

ThanksHe still is talking like a rock star, but I don't know if he'll be keeping that tone once he's back in the crew. For me, either way is welcome.
-
FINALLY! The world finally know that Brook is a Strawhat.
Which means he will probably get a bounty upgrade now, and probably everyone else too.
-
Introducing Rayleigh was nowhere as much of a mark as the crew getting into Grand Line. Chapter 100 played an important role in changing the direction of the plot.
rayleigh is more important than Whitebeard
Nope. Whitebeard played more important in changing the background and setting up of the story. Ace played more important role in Luff's character development. These two are the reason of one of the most influential arc in the series, changing the whole world afterward and the direction of the plot.

He clearly said that Raileigh wasn't as important as Whitebeard, Ace, and I can include in that list Shanks, Garp, and Dragon, once he does something.
Ace shaped last 2 years of the plot, Whitebeard shaped the world, and Garp made Luffy's bases, and Shanks gave him the core of his dream.
-
I have to LOL that some people try hard to see an open eye at Zoro's colorspread

Why would you diss someone like Sea?
Thats not how we should handle here things, you trollAnd yeah iam not completely agreeing with your opinion but iiam sure not against your point of view .
-

Thank you so much rubia_ryu ~ Me too <3 I love Brook regardless :wub:
-
Did anyone noted how fake sanjis hair style is similar to angry sanjis hair style?
The chapter is really awesome. I'd wish Oda made 10 chapters this week instead of one. I am pretty sure the OP Sales of the next Band will rock the charts again.
-

I wonder just how incredibly the Strawhat's total bounty will ramp up to now.
I'll hazard a guess at a total of 2 billion berry total. In addition to most bounties probably more than doubling, Chopper's will actually be a bounty.
-
@Don:
Why would you diss someone like Sea?
He is not good enough of a poster for me to care about his dissing anyway.
-
Zoro's eye is still being discussed? If it is I can show an image that I think that proves that in the cover is only the scar and not his eye.
-
Well an other thing… For ehat reason Shakky gave the vivre cards back to the SHs... They should still point all at Rayleigh's main card. So how can Luffy know where they are?
Or was it a translation mistake and Shakky gave the main card to them?
-
Brook's the hardest working man in soul business.

Mare longus vivit.

It could be a translation error. Aohige's script says that she gave only one card to them, so it must be the main one.
Edit: If the crew leaves in a hurry, my theory might actually have a bit of a foundation…

the Coribou crewmates look like the drugos!

@Sea: I sincerely hope you don't care about what anyone says about you in a forum.

Sure, there's no doubt that Ace was the focus of the main character for 2 years. And there's no doubt that WB is important to the World's story. But after the timeskip, and given his current role as the saviour of the Strawhats, he has become just as important.
Consider this, every single Strawhat is different and stronger because of Rayleigh. And if you look at characters simply as plot points and as effects upon a storyline, then you could say that Rayleigh was the character used as a plot device that allowed for the next 10 years of the story to occur. So perhaps during the war he wasn't very important but after all of this I'd say he is arguably the most important supporting character, and ally of the Strawhats in the last few years.
Aside from Dragon who's secretely taken care of the Strawhats (or actually Luffy) up to this point.He clearly said that Raileigh wasn't as important as Whitebeard, Ace, and I can include in that list Shanks, Garp, and Dragon, once he does something.
Ace shaped last 2 years of the plot, Whitebeard shaped the world, and Garp made Luffy's bases, and Shanks gave him the core of his dream.
Read the above. Rayleigh will be the reason for the entire rest of the Story being possible.

I tend to troll too much. But hey, I HAVE 10000 FOLLOWERS!!!

Oda is bad in saying how long something will take in his story because he has the main plot already in his head but because his work makes him fun he adds more and more stuff.
Being able to use his creative site all the time makes the story longer and longer and i dont blame the man that he wasn
t totally aware of the fact that his manga would become the best freaking thing ever produced and that he still has joy working on it.About 60 % of the chapters being kickass..i agree that many are more than awesome but with a twist or a introduction of something rly interesting or groundbreaking which makes it in my eyes kickass…well, this manga sure has more of those chapters than any other manga but still not every second chapter that happens(even when we`re close to that hahaha)
The red line on chapter 500...mhh i haven
t feeled like "OMFG" when i saw the RL on chapter 490 so it wasn
t for me such an important event.
Maybe because over 100 chapters followed after that scene which showed that they may have seen the RL but it was still a long way to get over(or under,in this case hehe) this wall which is the real deal. -
Saves a pirate crew = Ending an era
THIS MAKES SENSE.
-
Zoro and Sanji fighting again, Franky's hair is back, Chopper's reaction to Franky, Luffy's moustache… I laughed and laughed and laughed... And I clapped at Brook's song, seriously, what an amazing, epic chapter! Every single bit of it! I'm gonna go cry now...
-

vivre cards point at the "main piece",regardless of who has it,until now shakky had rayleight's vivrecard,now she gave it to the strawhat,so now luffy's vivre card points at the strawhats
-

So it was a mistake by MS. well not suprising
-
I can understand why, but yeah, it's just the shading. His scarred eye is shut.
On another note, what is he reading?
@talli: Happy to help. Cheers for the "NEW WORLD"!!
Anyone knows where to get a Bigger scan?

@Cyan:

HAHAHAHA
Considering that they are the protagonists and the reason we care for the story in the first place, yeah pretty much.
Go away dude.
-

Aohige's script seems to confirm that.
Anyone knows where to get a Bigger scan?
http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/2783/openw.jpgIs it me, or does this enlarged picture make it seem like he has eyeliner on?

HAHAHAHA
Considering that they are the protagonists and the reason we care for the story in the first place, yeah pretty much.
Go away dude.
Ending the era was far more important to the story overall.
I hate it when people think that this story revolves only around the Strawhats.
-
@Cyan:

It`s obviously about Buggy.

I thought you were just trying to annoy me but it turns out you are just daft.
-
Franky got back his hair and arms as i said :getlost: He's cool, suppaaahhrrr and creazy perv, nothing else… :getlost:
-
HAHAHAHA
Considering that they are the protagonists and the reason we care for the story in the first place, yeah pretty much.
Go away dude.
Without Margaret Luffy would be dead so she is more important to the plot than Akainu who only gave Luffy a scar.
-
Just the scar… -
I bet lots of people were surprised by this chapter - nice one, Oda xD
Sooo, can´t wait for the NEXT chapter :D -
It was easy to spot Pandaman this time
-

Havn't kept up with this discussion outside of the initial claim that Rayleigh "wasn't important", but wanted to comment on it anyways: I agree with his 500 reveal not being anything too special. Rayleigh became a major important character after the fact. His end-of-chapter reveal wasn't really that awe-worthy for a 500 chapter mark, and that's not really that bad. Milestone chapters aren't really needed at all.
-
@Mad:
It was easy to spot Pandaman this time
Aye, as for several others.
-
@Sea:
Without Margaret Luffy would be dead so she is more important than Akainu.
I am making a distinction between the importance of a character in the world of One Piece and the importance of a character in the Story of One Piece.
But I guess that Blackbeard and the Fleet Admiral and Akainu are the main characters of the story, and not chopper.
Sharp quips aside take things seriously or don't try at all. I'd expect it from your subordinates not you.

Just the scar… -
So they are still some people who believe Zoro didn't lose his eye.
-
@Don:
It`s obviously about Buggy.
All hail our messiah the Great Captain Buggy!!
And I found the pandaman also twas easy
-
Guys, stop drawing on his face. Only he (and Oda-san) can do that.
I totally want to see that happening… -
@Sea:
Without Margaret Luffy would be dead so she is more important to the plot than Akainu who only gave Luffy a scar.
She is, that's why she should have joined the crew.:ninja:
