Those supernova twins are at about the same level the monster trio was before the time skip. I'll be disappointed if Zoro or Sanji cant take them both out easily.
I have very high expectations for the strawhats, why? Well this is the first time ODA has done such a powerup in 600 chapters and its not likely he will do it again. Those guys should already be at 3/4 of their full potential or so.
Lets not forget, Realistically Zoro and Sanji have to get strong enough to give the admirals a tough fight if not become stronger than them
Sorry If I offended anyone about their beliefs..that was idiotic of me, I know..But I do know what Buddhism is..and I only brought it up because people were saying that Zoro might be Buddhist.

Agreed on the strength that Zoro and Sanji need to get too. Like Ben Beckman, Marko, and Jozu can fight with Admirals.

Now that might be the first senseable post from a 2010 member i've read in a long time
After the horrifying mermaid sighting during the enies lobby arc, I think fishman island will be a hilarious arc, not to mention a possible rematch of luffy vs arlong. And of course brook nose bleeding when he saw the mermaids are not wearing panties.. but wait he does not even have blood to begin with.. yohohohohohohohohoho XD

Actually I think they are even beyond the lvl you think. Rayleigh said to Luffy that if he didn't want something like Shabaody to happen ever again he should train for about 2 year. That means being able to fight an admiral, the PX's and Sentamarou because that was the given incident or at least make a safe getaway. Both would mean a really big power up because running from someone like Kizaru is almost impossible if he locks you as his target (only with a submarine or a coated ship for that matter.). Than there is the fact that Rayleigh left the island half a year earlier than expected because he taught Luffy all he could teach him and Luffy stayed to train even further. My guess is that they can hold there ground (be it with more than 1 person) against an admiral and strength-wise they shouldn't really grow much anymore but just grow by adventuring like from beginning of grand line till the first time at Shabaody and with grow I mean they need to get better @ Haki if anything else because that's the most important power of them all and I think it is the only way to defeaat BB with his 2 DF's.
People will warm up to Franky once he shows the purpose of those arms.
Just a thought regarding how people are saying that Zoro usually trains, but this time when he was bored he went fishing. I think I can see fishing as a certain type of training…in a manga-ish way. Just to develop sensitivity to small movements and fast reflexes. That, in combination that someone probably told him about overtraining.

Everything the crew does has to have some hidden meaning, doesn't it?
maybe zoro just wanted to fish.
While Oda's made it quite clear that the SH crew was in need of a major powerup, and Luffy's, Usopp's, Nami's, and Zoro's introduction certainly make it seem that way (what with their nonchalant attitudes while utterly decimating fakes and ships XD), what exactly there to stop the increase in power at just the main characters?
I mean, personally I'm pulling for some of the marines I like to get an overhaul as well. I'd love to see the increase in power for Smoker and Coby. And if those two do end up stronger, there's nothing to say that the Admirals wouldn't have increased in strength as well. I mean, I'd want the increase to be less drastic in their case, seeing as how they're admirals and I'd like to assume they're pretty close to their full potential as well.
I guess what I mean to say is that the SH crew is still going to see their share of struggles and tight spots even with the power up.

for me there's a difference.
luffy told his crew that they have two years to improve their skills.
i don't think anything similar happened @marines..

Very True…lol
Luffy levelled up from 0 bounty to a 300,000,000B pirate, the time span was less than a year from the beginning of his adventure to Marineford arc; for Luffy and his crew to take a 2 year training break implies that their powerup would be significant; and to top it all off the Admirals and Kumabot are not the strongest of his enemies, especially in a new chaotic age of pirates.
An interview with six of the seiyuu.
"...WJ: Well then, ladies and gentlemen, what kind of power ups do you think that the scattered crew will come back with, and what kind of things will they get up to in Shinsekai? Let's start with Luffy.
Yamaguchi: Well, he must definitely learn how to use Haki.
Tanaka: When he's learned how to use it, it seems like he'll be strong enough that he won't even lose to the champions ahead......"
The rest of the interview is at: http://naye.livejournal.com/827651.html
I am not saying that the seiyuu know what will happen in one piece future, but from their statement they seem to believe that L that Luffy will definitely become a lot stronger and also the rest of his crew as well . I think eventually the rest of his crew would also start learning about Haki if they have not yet.

Well don't marines train like everyday, while it be fighting pirates or doing other training things. I wonder if Luffy got another gear.
Hmmm, I think there is some sort of incentive for the marines. To begin with, I know Smoker and Coby both have reasons to want to become stronger. But for the rest of the Marines, even if they did win the war, the level of damage done to Marineford and chaos unleashed into the world must have made it almost a pyrrhic victory. Especially with Sengoku and Garp stepping down, I can see why there could be a rush to get stronger in order to fill the gap of power and to ensure that any future skirmishes with powerful pirates doesn't end up…..er, well like Marineford.

I never really gauged their power. What i meant is that Zoro/sanji should be able to take out those guys single handedly without much difficulty.
Im actually expecting Franky/ussop/chopper to fight those guys
Im expecting Sentoumaru to say something along the lines of the PX's are 2x + stronger than they were 2 years ago and then have Zoro and Sanji kick their asses

Also, them relocating to where the Yonkou is enough of a reason to get stronger for the majority of the marines
Also, them relocating to where the Yonkou is enough of a reason to get stronger for the majority of the marines
I assume the Marines don't assign people to places they're likely to get killed at. Though I agree that the marines in general likely got stronger as a whole. With so many more pirates around, any given marine is likely to have more experience.
I hope not, it would be to much the same as Dragon ball
Super saiyan 1,2,3,4, etc.Haki is alredy overpower and luffy have no need for a new gear.
I think that won't be dragonballesque, gear 3 isn't a power up of gear 2. If oda creates a gear 4, it won't replace gear 2 or 3, I hope.
ya, like rufolo said, gear 2 and gear 3 are completely different things, only similar in it that its bad for him and it improves a certain fighting characteristic. If we thin kabout it, gear 2 = speed, gear 3 = power. if he DOES develop another gear…which i dun think will happen, it will haev to improve a certain aspect of him. since speed/opwer aspects are out...and i'm sure we can filter out intellect...what wud he possibly gain from a new gear?

defense? that's all I can think of, but then again the armorment thing kind of does some defense already.
also; I have faith enough in Oda to not even think that One Piece will become dragonball z
I'm not entirely sure what the next gear would be. 3 can't really be replaced, unless Luffy grows a whole hell of alot very very soon. 2nd might be used less, at least in that its an amplification of his normal abilities. If his base stats have been raised enough during the time skip the increase likely wouldn't be necessary against many opponents. Though we don't know how strong Luffy actually is, so who knows. Though I would be curious if the increase is arithmetic, geometric, or exponential.
2 more days till spoilers. 3 more days till actual mangastream.. CHAPTER 600 i can't wait =.= i hope there is a full page (or is it 2 pages?) span of their reunion on Sunny. and nami putting everyone's heads into her sisters like waht she did with Usopp…. ya :D
It's the 600th chapter. I don't care if Oda has to make it 40 pages long, I really want the Strawhats reunited by at least the last page.
They might get reuinited, but it won't necessarily be shown during 600. The last page could be Luffy reaching the ship and just saying "Hello!".
I'm not particularly patient, but at the same time I'd rather its done well than have the plot rushed.
Nice ….. jokes about Nami's boobs :getlost:
What the hell. Before the topic was about hundreds of naked Robins, and now it's about Nami's chest. At least we had a period of talking about (medicinal) drugs… from Zoro's name.
We need something purer to talk about. How about more predictions for chapter 600, eh? Or the next one, for that matter.
Edit: As much as he may like cucumbers, I hope that Chopper figures out the truth before meeting with the rest of the crew. It would be sweet if he first saves Coco, who in turn reveals the story behind the fake crew. Then, Chopper meets the crew with the news... only to find out that he was the last to know that. Or something like that...

I hope that happens all in the next chapter.
What the hell. My post got deleted.
Has anyone noticed? Pre time skip Robin is part of the Kuja Pirates.
Bottom right
http://read.mangashare.com/One-Piece/chapter-599/page002.html
As much as I would like to see the crew reunited in chapter 600, I don't see how that could happen realistically in 18 pages. There would need to be 20 panels per page or something (exaggeration). However, I do think something else significant will happen. There has been enough of a pattern with such milestone chapters to make me a believer in that.
one more thing. Everyone was talking about how the Strawhats would be fighting vice-admiral Momonga after 598, but no one has mentioned him in this thread (unless I missed it). This thread was all about Sentomaru and he would either be bellamied or be a challenge for the crew. Perfectly valid points, but Momonga is still a formidable enemy.

If you want to go there he has affected his intellect with a move before, however, quite differently than expected. He used an ability called Gum Gum Idiot while fighting Eneru which rendered him absolutely useless in offense but unstrikeable in defense, by losing absolutely all train of thought and thinking process and relying purely on instinct. I always thought of his "4th Gear" being the same as when he fought 3000 Shadow Moria, by using 2nd and 3rd at the same time, but meh.
Whew! Finally caught up. I thoroughly enjoyed this chapter, although yeah, Chopper's inability to call fake after Fluffy acted so badly when Frobin (lol) was kidnapped was hella-annoying.
I wonder if the fakes will be involved in some comic scene in which someone recognizes Luffy, shouts out "Straw Hat Luffy!," and Fluffy thinks the shout is about him, or vice versa, with the shout being about Fluffy and Luffy thinking it's about him? It'd be a touch of comedy in the midst of the seriousness of the battle. I could see Oda doing something like that with the fakes, since he's already had Frobin taken in place of real Robin…

You too? Thank god I thought I was alone (but thats, probably because I don't frequent this thread).
I mean, being naive is one thing, but Chopper's the ships doctor for crying out loud.
Gear 2 = Blood Doping. Increases flow of blood which increases his performance all around.
Gear 3 = Air in his bones. Obviously makes body parts huge in size.
But as every one says i think another gear is unlikely.
i really wanna see franky solo a pacifista. thatisall.
Franky still kind of freaks me out XD But after his intro I felt better. No matter how much he changes, he's still Franky.

It's her twin! …Oda's gotten better at drawing women, but there are times when they still look like clones... :ermm:

See, more people need to think like this! It doesn't matter how much they change on the outside; they're still the Straw Hats that we know and love!
[/rant]
…Yeah, I still want to see Chopper in action, saving fake damsels all by himself. He had his start in Skypeia; now I want to see more of that side of him.
It's her twin! …Oda's gotten better at drawing women differently, but there are times when they still look like clones… :ermm:
Fixed.
I like how Nami looked in the first few chapters more than now.
Random thought:
Wouldn't it be kind of funny if next chapter when it comes time to fuck up the fake strawhats and all of their 70 mil ^ members as they are falling Nami is just picking up the bodies to go cash them in later :D

But really now, the Straw Hats don't need that much money going into the new world :3
Cnet's translation of One Piece Ch. 599 is out:

Edit:
It's interesting to note that in Cnet's translation Zoro sounds less intense and evil in his speech about fate: "Zoro: …............... // That's just how the dice roll... Blame Fate for abandoning your ship to the gods of misfortune."
At least here he isn't talking about him being an "angel of death"… :)

If the translators don't take the text literally, then that's pretty much how it comes out to. "Life ain't fair. Get used to it!"
maybe zoro was hungry and had no money for went fishing
He said he was bored.

Its Nami and you know that Nami LOVES money
