@DarthAsthma:
Oh damn thanks that's a lot of good information that nobody else has brought up yet to me. Regarding the boots thing anywhere I can buy those those haven't really appeared for me yet beside the random bonus reward of a stage. This also probably means that if I get to the Chara worlds that Movement is the thing to boost first?
You may have to pass a bill for them. And there's an item shop caravan thing you place on your character map. It's placement on there will determine what items it sell. It offers at least a variety of shoes pretty early, but those get better as you go.
Also should I just rush through the main story before getting properly building my characters? I've been playing around a lot on 5-2 stage with cheat shop bonuses and have been grinding a bit max level is 200 on Desco for me.
If you're at 200 you can probably clear through the main game already if you reset the enemies back down to their default. Most of the main characters get their best moves around 500 I want to say.
In Disgea beating the main game means very little since there's multiple endings and tons of post-game challenges. The majority of your time will be post game. The biggest hindrance to actually beating the game is story characters that join later won't be in your starting group.
Now since then I've learned about the reincarnation thing(although it sucks a bit reading that I optimally should have done those even earlier because of attribute losses for reincarnating after at lower level than before) and was wondering if I should just reincarnate all the main 5 times quickly for the aptitude gains or if I should just power through the main game to unlock more stuff.
Nah. You'll want to reincarnate the sub characters as soon as they unlock their new classes, because those get much better stats, but for main characters it doesn't matter as much. Reincarnating from a higher level actually drags more base stats into your level 1. So the actual ideal is to get to 9,999, then reincarnate. By the time you can do that, you'll be able to get them back to that level in a couple rounds so its not a huge deal. But feel free to reincarnate along the way if you want to.
I recall 5-2 being a good grind spot. Any location that has enemies ina cluster that you can hit all in one shot and nuke is a good one.
Also for thieves I theoretically could level one up through the evil symbol thing, anyway how does stealing work in this game? Do I get what enemies have equipped or is it random? And at what point is it really worth to steal if it is random? As for monsters any recommendations? I haven't used those much at all yet. Although the idea of super strong Prinnies seems pretty entertaining.
Just have a thief in the party and let him leech exp ocassionally to get it to a high level. There are hand items that you consume to steal, and you get a piece of listed enemy equipment. Thieves can also permanently steal stats, but the reward for that isn't too useful until your dealing with crazy high level things.
And last question is there any point to the lower types of troops? Or can I just discard them once I unlocked the next rank on the respective classes. Srsly this game is just systems on systems on systems just getting lost but it's pretty fun.
Reincarnate the lower one to the higher. They'll keep their weapon proficency and learned spells and whatnot, but get the newer better stats.
