Luffy is the main character meaning he is the most fleshed out, we all know him like the back of our hand and we love it. And it's this little thing that we feel like we really KNOW the character that will drive us to vote for him.Hence if he does win again this year, I would be strongly disappointed.
That's contradictory for everyone's arguments regarding whats canon and whats not.
Most say if its not in the manga it doesn't exist. So any assumptions about a character thus should not be canon neither. making it irrelevant to bring it up regarding popularity matches.

If I could vote I'd vote for Ace. I like Luffy much more but even I know Ace would burn his rubber ass in a fight right now. Luffy's Haki is improving not controlled.

Woah. This is a lot more close than I thought.
Anywho. While Luffy doesn't have as many amazingly awesome moments like some of the rest of the crew. He's still light years ahead in awesomeness compared to the Gary Stu of One Piece.
A vote for Ace is a vote for other Gary Stu chars such as that main guy from Twilight.

Everyone doesn't know, but this is a popularity contest and frankly, people are going to leverage whatever makes a character popular, whether it's only appeared in the manga or not. I asked a mod about my sig, and was basically told spoilers happen, especially in the tournament sub-forum, so, yeah.
Holding my vote in reserve for now while I wait on campaigns.

I bet when I wake up in the morning luffy will have a greater lead….I usually hate main characters(they seem to share the trait of being either totally arrogant and having to deal with that and learn a lesson or whatever) but I actually do really like luffy. I might vote for Ace just for kicks and giggles though. Voting for luffy would make too much sense and that's no fun.
