Being the Daily Show host through Trump's era wasn't easy, but he did a great job from what I saw. I hope he does well. The only question now is, who will follow?

Jon Stewart's show, "The Problem with John Stewart" will no longer be shooting its upcoming third season after disagreements with Apple about his planned episodes on China & Ai.
Apple approached Jon & said that his views needed to align with the company to move forward, so he quit.
-
What are the chances of him rejoining the Daily Show?
-
None. He's burnt out from it.
But not totally surprised. Maybe he'll do something with Amazon Prime.
-
I mean he's okay, but that's scary.

The Daily Show has finally picked a new long term host.
JON STEWART.
Article isn't super clear on how long he's staying. Through the election season at least and then he'll be helping shape it through 2025?
EDIT: Other articles make it clearer that he'll only be doing the Monday shows, and the rest of the week will be other people.

100% as it turns out!

Even through its part time, I'm happy to see Jon is back.
-
That's super great news!!
-
MY BABY IS BACK!!!!
And I'll take only Mondays. This election year is going to be such a shit-basket John is the only one who can do it.

-sniffle- My boy is back.
I can't imagine how much tickets for tonight's show cost.

Man, I'm so happy that Jon is back. That opening segment was just amazing. I can't wait for next Monday night.

Tickets to these shows are always free. They want to ensure they have a full audience any given day of the week, so they'll pull people in off the street if they need to.
You may have to book them months in advance, but they're free. The folks in the audience probably had no idea they were getting a Jon Stewart showing when they booked, and I imagine the monday shows for the next nine months are probably all booked now... but still free. I have a friend in New York whose been many times.

And I guess because I watched that video youtube had to recommend this classic to me afterward.
-
Yeah, that monologue was perfect and it's good to see Jon back.
-
Those three were the perfect team.

I just love Jon Stewart so much I recently downloaded a torrent containing ALL of Jon Stewart's episodes of the Daily Show (I also downloaded all of the Colbert Report while I was at it) and am now slowly making my way through the whole show. I used to watch single clips back in the day on the official website, but it has become a bit of a mess to use and I think many clips/episodes aren't available anymore? At least they weren't last time I checked, which admittedly was a while ago.
Anyway, Season 4 (which was Stewart's first season after Craig Kilborn left) is pretty rough to watch. Jon is already pretty likable, but it's a far cry from the clever and hilarious satire the show would become famous for later on. The humor is a lot broader and also feels a lot more mean-spirited, especially as it's not targeted at people who actually deserve it at all. It's still interesting to go back to the beginning and see how everything evolved.
I also bought The Daily Show: An oral history as a companion book while watching the show.

One of my favorite seasons was during the Fifa World Cup in South Africa. (poor John Oliver . . .)

When I first got Comedy Central during the Summer of 2002. The two main shows that I was watching everyday were the South Park reruns and The Daily Show. I'm thankful that the Jon Stewart era of the Daily Show got me through high school .

Never give Jon the opportunity to go after Tucker Carlson:

Jon's getting his groove back.

Been waiting for this . . .
