It's a pretty hard franchise to avoid, she plays the female lead.
Never really paid attention to the twilight movies. And in her Wikipedia article, she looks happy, so I never would've guessed that she was the emo girl from those trailers.
But people are saying she can't act? Very well, then. I guess she wouldn't be a good Lois.

I don't really care for Superman, but Darkstorm is completely right about the Darkseid and Superman fight. It was so epic and it was surprisingly violent for a kids show.

I like Luthor but he just seems overused in films, granted he should appear in this film; but I want a better adaption of him than then the Hackman camp performance. I'll really miss John Williams score, and I wonder if the new composer can match up to it. Also I think think they will be aiming for a 'young Clark Kent' similar to how Nolan's reboot of Batman is aiming for a 'young Bruce Wayne' but I think they did that with Smallville right?
I think the best way to go is that make like Smallvile a little bit and have Lex Luthor be friends with a young Clark Kent, now I know Smallvile has problems but it doesn't hurt to take a few ques from it.
But my main gripe is that Zack Snyder is doing the directing and with Nolan leaving everything to him to work on Rises, I'm very skeptical and I haven't been impressed with his work so far. He can do great action scenes and and certainly is the right pick for Superman is this area, unfortunately judging by his previous works (most notably 300) I don't have confidence in his storytelling abilities.

Are you trying to fit Superman into your aesthetic, or change your approach to fit the Superman mythos?
I feel like, I mean I've said to the studio that this will probably be the most realistic Superman movie ever made. It takes place in the real world much more than [my previous films]… I mean, I've just never had the subject matter that needed that, you know what I mean? Like everything I've done up to this point really has the benefit of existing in a stylized world. It's fun for me that the most realistic movie, the movie that I'd say I'm making in the most realistic way of any movie I've ever done is a movie called Superman! That's kinda fun!

And Two-Face or Joker don't sound stupid? Not to mention, there's a video game system called a Playstation. That sounds like something a little kid would play on in a park.
We've grown use to names like that by now, and we don't think they're ridiculous anymore.

Amy Adams is fucking awesome, but I've always felt that she'd be the perfect Jean Grey, and not so much a Lois Lane. But she's reached different heights with her acting.

Chris Nolan is involved somewhat, so he'll keep him in check. Anyway, with that film it felt like he wasn't really trying to make a 'great' movie is so much as he was trying intentionally to make one of the most outrageous film to flex his visual style some more. I view that movie as more of a 'warm-up' and this Superman reboot will show a more mature, sophisticated side to his style. It's a movie he's actually taking more seriously than his other one's since he's tackling such an iconic character(that's beyond him). Also he's working off someone else's material so I'm sure it'll be great, I mean it's not like the guy is telling the story or even writing it(it's Goyer's script).
Sucker Punch was more of a shallow, action film that's intentionally supposed to be stupid and make no sense. He wasn't taking it that seriously and he was just 'relaxing' with that one. Superman has been around for many generations, with many incarnations and one of the most well known characters in existence, but unfortunately his age has consequences as he now considered 'retro' in these times(look at Flux's Superhero thread) were many folks voted Spiderman and Batman over him. This movies core goal is to fix that, and put Superman back into the modern consciousness and put him back in fashion and I'm sure Synder is aware of that challenge and will be maturing his style enough to fit with this particular 'modern realistic take' on this character.

Not too long ago Alan Moore finished his "sequel" to 300, Warner Bros. bought the movie rights to it and Zac Synder was like "let me direct it guys!" but they said "NO" because the early test audiences for Sucker Punch were coming back negatively and the set of the new Superman Movie is in such disarray people are basically showing up to work and doing nothing for weeks at a time. Yeah, I feel like Chris and I, we actually get along really well and Chris is a really interesting guy and he’s been incredibly helpful and incredibly supportive. I think he just treats me the way he would want to be treated as far as he just has a lot of respect for other filmmakers. He’s an incredible resource on the other hand and he’s super-busy but we see each other quite a bit, and it’s kind of fun and I think we have a pretty good time.
Besides, even if Nolan wasn't as involved and left it completely up to him , we still have Goyer(who co-wrote The Dark Knight) to rely on. This isn't exactly Zach's material he's just fine-tuning it and bringing it to life.
Again like I said Zach's style will change in this movie and this is cold hard evidence.
Because Superman takes place in a more realistic world, I think it will be a slight departure for me just visually because I think you’re going to go to a more real world. I’ve never made a movie that wasn’t stylized. All the movies I’ve made have been stylized worlds. Who knows? I mean, who knows, we haven’t started shooting it yet.
Snyder’s wife and producing partner Deborah Snyder thinks that Superman will “be a definite departure from the things he’s done because the idea is to make him relevant in our world today.” So it appears they are trying to ground the character as much as possible to the world of today, something moviegoers can relate to — and not some super stylized world.

Why isn't Zack Snyder directing the sequel to his epically popular movie 300? Rumor has it his next two features are a bit of a disaster, including the massive tent-pole production Superman. Vulture is reporting that Warner Bros. had offered 300 sequel Xerxes, based off the Frank Miller graphic novel, to Sherlock Holmes director Guy Ritchie. Great for Ritchie, terrible news for original movie developer Zack Snyder.
So why did Snyder get forced out of Xerxes? The New York Magazine blog has two theories. One, that the third act from Snyder's new tent-pole super hero picture, Superman is a complete mess, and the WB is forcing the director to focus all his attention onto his struggling superhero feature. Lex Luthor should be in this film, but not necessarily the main villain or at least he should appear in the form of a foreshadowing/hint for the sequel(if this one is successful.
Kinda like at the end of Begins with the Joker being hinted.If they do him, I want a more modern Luthor in the comics, instead of the camp one.

A new take on Zod is atleast getting somewhere. Its still a major sign this movie will be better than at least Returns. Plus modern Luthor might appear in this film.
But with Synder directing, and Goyer writing I expect this film to be above average.

I know exactly how you feel. I would love to see Metallo in a movie. Brainiac also. Maybe even the Toyman, if he's portrayed as creepily as he was in Superman: The Animated Series. (Plastic Doll Head and all).

There still a slight array of hope. Jonathan Nolan has done work on it, while Nolan and Goyer have come up with the story. Zach Snyder has said this movie will be a huge departure from his previous works, in that it will take place in a more grounded realistic world than he's ever done(so that means his direction might be good).
Plus he's casted some great actors like Michael Shannnon and Russel Crowe.
There's a chance this film might be good, but not excellent somewhat like Begins.
But…...the casting is great IMO.This new movie franchise will not include 'happy American dream!' Superman. The arc will be how people are afraid of him, and Supes questioning his humanity and purpose on earth. He won't be emo, but he will be portrayed in a more dimensional light than his previous interpretations. He'll be hunted down by the military and seen as a threat.
Lois Lane will be the one of the few not afraid of him. In fact, it will feature a drama between them in some ways.

I could sense something was up, and seeing the pace of how things are going with rewrites I'm not surprised in the least, but now the pressure of Warner Bros. losing Superman is running higher and now its been delayed. Hopefully this extra time will grant them a chance to make the best movie they can(if they ever can). Its a great chance the production might fall apart making Warner Bros. lose the film rights to Supes… I really hope this movie comes into fruition..... I want this movie to be good, so maybe its good news.

It seems like this movie's costume is taking a few cues from the new Superman post-reboot Costume.

Actually I'd say they had the basic concept design even before the comics reboot was even annoucned. Its just a coindence, its very doubtful the new comcis reboot costume really influenced it.
Its just that both this film and the new comics relaunch are trying to make Superman more 'modern'.
Which I guess means they both get rid of the red undies.

I never said that it shouldn't. But this new suit seems to be exactly how I imagine it would look like, that and this new suit is clearly its onw animal; the only thing that it has in commmon with the new comcis relaunch costume is the of lack underwear. But really it seems to be a very creative decison the movie folks made on their own, and would have made on their own with or without the comics relaunch. Kinda like how Tim Burton got rid of the underwear from the comics in his first Bat film(keep in mind there was a Bat-film before even Burton's).

This interpreation of Superman is going to vatsly different from all the others. One thing one must learn is that at the end of this film, Supes still won't entirely win the trust of earth's people I expect that to be an arc for this film series.
Like someone like Lex Luthor plays into the human's fear of aliens, and Supes questions his place on this planet which plays nicley into the themes of loneliness and identity.
He will be fighting against the miltary alot in this film, people will be freaked out by his powers and may view him as an enemy. He really won't predictably win the trust of earth at the end of this film, at least not entirely.

I think seeing as I believe this film will tackle Supes in a realistic/modern context, I think that darker look is rather nice.
Really I think it looks bad ass, plus Supes looks actually intimidating(unlike the gentler look of Chris Reeves and Brandon Routh) this version feels like earns the title 'Superman'. He looks like he'll finally kick some ass.
In fact I think it invokes the feeling of the original tough, nonsense version in the 30's when he was created by Siegel and Shuster. I gotta say he feels strong, manly, and not afraid to punch somebody!Anyways,
Visually the film resembles Watchmen, which means that this film will look beautiful despite my gripes with Zach's adaption of Watchmen I have to say it at least looked great .

Well that's understandable but the mistake you make is that you underestimate the potential of the character's adaptability, you seem to prefer 'happy simple hyperstylized American dream' Supes(which is fine) but I feel that the character can certainly go to serious/realistic realms but still maintain his essence of who he is, hell the comics have entered some pretty damn serious realms before I might add, and there are many different ways to do the character and . I feel that if you want Supes to resonate with a modern audience naturally going darker is the way to go. That does not mean, however; darker is naturally better but if you do right enough level for the character it can work wonders, besides its not like the spirit of Supes character is allergic to that kind of thing, in fact even in the original comics have tackled a lot of grim stuff and realistic stuff like suicide, child abuse and murder and war.
I mean this guy won't be emo or anything, this one clearly looks like he has somethings to figure out but I see that as a natural evolution of the character in this age. The fact that this film gets to go a more serious route then before is truly a testament to how good this character is, and if he's really 'lightness' or hope then maybe this movies realistic\modern world should test that inherent goodness Supes has and make you resonate with him, and get a feel for the guy. I mean he isn't really this savior Jesus messiah as imagined, he isn't perfect so despite him coming from another planet he's still very human at heart, he's still the simple farm boy.I expect this film to just delve deep into how Clark became Superman, like him being that simple farm boy that was denied a normal life because of his heritage, maybe bring the idea that him having these powers makes him feel like an outcast, or that it attracts trouble to the world. I'd say its looking to to be a more interesting take on the character than the benevolent gentle messiah figure Reeves/Routh commonly portray him as and gets him back to his roots as this tough intimidating champion of good, at least that's what it looks like.
