1. Still Luffy would see him as brother. Ace was living his own life as well and was his brother
2. Where do you have this from? Sabo isn't near the fire?
1. Either he thinks he's dead or Ace and Luffy promise to make a resolution towards Sabo. I.E. for his own sake, they will not refer to him as his brother anymore so he can have his own happiness. They wouldn't want to pull him down and be associated with them because they're already infamous.
2. Sabo doesn't need to be near the fire for a misunderstanding to occur.
It baffles me how people are incapable of complex thought. You can think outside that closed-in box where nothing is possible until it happens, ya know.

No it's just that the theories are bad and I hope Oda will never do it that way
-
Oh… Well then that, sir, is an opinion.
I know I would have called someone retarded if they suggested Dragon showing up in Luffy's flashback.
-

That's not the point^^ but forget it and let us wait what will happen^^
I hope he will appear but for now I think he will die^^
-
If he dies then that would be a waste of build-up. Regardless of whether or not he joins the Straw Hat Pirates I would say it's at least fair to say he'll have some relevance in the current storyline. You have someone here that has an explicitly stated dream, close history to the main character, and a clear definition of his physical abilities but you'd rather have it wasted to sacrafice him as "motivation for the main character"? Luffy already suffered his tragedy with Ace. There really is no point to his death especially when it's stacked against a mound of ridiculous potential.
-
Ace and Luffy think Sabo is dead. That is enough for a motivation.
Why does he have to be real dead to be a motivation? -
so anyone who's interesting we'll basically write up as a possible canidate for a new nakama?
This happens everytime a new cool character is introduced. It's a common thing around here.

Why? If he dies, building him up makes perfect sense as well: he's being made a likable character because then his death will shock us readers. And that shock and sadness will make us empathize towards' Luffy own suffering in the present.
Like Oda does in every freaking flashback, you know.

Likability is one thing. Development is an entirely different thing. Already, Sabo is much more fleshed out than any other flashback character around (that was used as a sacrafice; sans Zeff who's an exception, anyway) and has already broken the mold. Likewise, Luffy's situation is different from the situations revolving around his nakama (that being, he's lost someone on-panel in real time). In addition, he's the main character and isn't going to be joining his own crew. So don't even give me that bull of, "this is just the same old shit". It's different.

It may be different, but doesn't need to be.
Several other flashback characters had dreams and background. Tom built Roger's ship and wanted to save Water 7. Hiruluk was a thief that had a miraculous cure and became a doctor to save Drum. Sabo was a noble child that ran away and wanted to become a pirate and write about his adventures.
You'll be hard-pressed to find a flashback character that died and lacked both background and a big objective.
-
it doesn't look like Dragon is going to take Sabo to me
-
I usually don't take sides on this for fear of being labeled stupid fan boy, and mainly because I don't want to be on the recieving end of the I told you so thing, kind of like I was with magellan, I thought anyone who thought luffy wouldn't beat magellan was just stupid and argued it a 100000 times and it didn't work out to well for me in the end
but I will go on the negative and say Sabo is not joining the SH's never ever, that's my opinion Hell perona has more of a chance

The difference being that they accomplished their goals.
Sabo dreams of being free and writing a book. It's shaping up to be that the only way to accomplish that is to continue living to and beyond the present time. Unless you expect to see Sabo spontaneously write a book or something.
-
Oh my god CLINK you gave me an idea, I think Sabo might be the story teller of OP, you know the narrator.
-
Sabo's dream is a big argument for him joining.
It feels right. -
Oh my god CLINK you gave me an idea, I think Sabo might be the story teller of OP, you know the narrator.
That would actually be just a little bit badass.
-
Sabo's dream is a big argument for him joining.
It feels right.HEY GUYZ THIS CHARACTER HAS A MOTIVE, THIS IS NEWSWORTHY AND REMARKABLE
-
Has someone mentioned bluejam joining? It's worthy! Believe it.
-
I thought about this as well. Maybe Sabo is the narrator. Would be awesome. But like I said first of all we have to wait for the end of the flashback and if Sabo will come out alive
-
Has someone mentioned bluejam joining? It's worthy! Believe it.
Dude, he has a dream. And Dragon just appeared so it's like 99% sure that he'll join! Plus he's a chemist, how else can you explain him starting the fire?!
-
Oh my god CLINK you gave me an idea, I think Sabo might be the story teller of OP, you know the narrator.
This poster deserves a thousand internets.
-

Does he narrate the infoboxes?
-
Has someone mentioned bluejam joining? .
Why would anyone ?
If people mention Sabo it's because there are valid reasons to do so not because he's cool…or has big boobs.
@JERK:
HEY GUYZ THIS CHARACTER HAS A MOTIVE, THIS IS NEWSWORTHY AND REMARKABLE
So who do you think will be the next nakama and why, wise guy ?

Being cool is exactly the reason people began to support Sabo.
-
Being cool is exactly the reason people began to support Sabo.
The reason people support Sabo is because he has a cool dream, tie in to the the plot and his character is being given a flashback, unlike some characters who have yet to have a flashback.
-

We haven't met them yet.
The reason people support Sabo is because he has a cool dream, tie in to the the plot and his character is being given a flashback, unlike some characters who have yet to have a flashback.
No Deicide's right, you're just performing a time honored ritual of a bunch of third rate posters who never predict anything with accuracy leaping on the newest character to show up and claiming the turf in a mad bid to be right. In essence, to be cool.
None of the things you listed mean anything. Being an important character whose goals and so forth exist doens't mean anything when paired up with all the other things your ignoring. This isn't a color by numbers game. There's other things involved in the likelihood of these things.
Will Sabo be important? No doubt.
But important people don't just file neatly into Luffy's crew.
-
It's funny the same assholes who's saying that Sabo won't join is the same idiots that said brooke wouldn't join go figure or franky or basically anyone ROFL. Get real.
I wouldn't know anything about that. I always thought Brook would join and I wasn't around here when Franky did.
Also, I'm not pointing out that Ace didn't join. I'm saying those ppl had stupid dumbass theories for why Ace would join and now they've jumped on the Sabo wagon to continue making bad theories for why he'd join. It's about the quality of the posts not the outcome that's being predicted/theorized.
You could've said Brook is going to join and had a bunch of retarded reasons why he would but the fact that he did join does not validate your retarded posts, put you in some exclusive group of correctly guessing who would join next, or make you a respectable or quality poster when it comes to theories.
-
The reason people support Sabo is because he has a cool dream,
So like Deicide said, "because he's cool"
tie in to the the plot
If by "tied in" you mean "not at all in" then I must agree with you
and his character is being given a flashback, unlike some characters who have yet to have a flashback.
No, Luffy is having a flashback, there's quite a difference.
And the 4th reason. To keep up with the quota of god awful posts in this thread.
-
@JERK:
We haven't met them yet.
A fishman in Fishman Island who we haven't met yet, which I have speculated for years.

Oh I see so you're not taking any risks. You're just sitting on the sidelines making snide remarks about other posters.
Good for you. You're a great poster.I'm not saying Sabo is gonna join by the way. I'm just saying he has at least as much chance as someone like Hancock. Which is not saying much when you think about it.
The flashback may be technically about Luffy but Sabo's character is the one being fleshed out the most right now.

Good for you. You're a great poster. No, why are there so many retarded people like this in this thread? They are all stupid, we are taking the risk of saying "none of them have a shot in hell."
Honestly, this isn't a "place your bets" thread. This is meant to be a discussion about who will join.
-
Ah well, fuck… I was going to argue that Sabo is still alive but then I came up with an idea that could potentially break down my whole argument. Suffice to say, Sabo began his book but didn't finish it and it has relevant details in it. Should Sabo have been engaged to a Tenryuubito (for whatever highly important, plot-related reason) then his death could cause an uproar shitstorm wherein Dragon is blamed and then Luffy, by association due to everyone learning their connection in the war, is also held accountable by the Tenryuubito whom already have a grudge against him. Being that Fishman Island is the next location and hyped beyond reason and the Holy Land is right on top of it then that's where all the story is headed.
-
I would prefer Dragon killing one or to
dicksTenryuubito.Suffice to say, Sabo began his book but didn't finish it and it has relevant details in it.
He was too young to write such book.
–------
I like how Zephos never ignores the dumbasses. -
I was writing shit when I was 4.
Note how I said "began" and not "finished".
-
-
So what will a 10 years old write about? Nihilism and Existentialism? History of Feudalism? Imperialism, the Highest Stage of Capitalism? The State and the Revolution? War and Peace?
Great then.
Dumbass yourself by the way.I wasn't that serious.
-
@Sea:
So what will a 10 years old write about? Nihilism and Existentialism? History of Feudalism? Imperialism, the Highest Stage of Capitalism?
Probably just some touching shit like, "I loved my brothers" or whatever that'll make Luffy cry/develop.
You're not funny, by the way.
-
@Uncle:

I am not trying to be funny. Hancock's won't join. Sabo won't die.
-
@Sea:

I'm just suggesting what could happen should he die. If Sabo lives then he'll be directly involved in future events. Will he join? Who knows. But he's sure to have relevance in the near future.
-
Sabo won't join, just like nearly every new character we see won't join. Zephos is really spot on with his observation that this thread is filled with people trying desperately to be the first to make a prediction so they can "claim" it on the million to one chance it turns out to be true.
-
I honestly don't even see too many people clammoring for Sabo to join although I haven't really visited this thread too much recently. From what I can tell, the "bandwagon" is very small or even nonexistent.
-
I think because it's due to the fact that this forum spent weeks debating on Hancock and Jinbei, so when Sabo came around, people were just desperate to yell about something else. It would of been the same for any character, hell people would say a tennis ball would join if they don't have to debate Jinbei or Hancock..
-
I didn't understand a single word…
And btw if he is alilve... Why he never, even if working for Dragon, went to meet Ace or Luffy of gave them a sign that he is alive.
Memory loss or he can't summon up the courage to face them because he was so useless in the past when it mattered.
-
@Sea:

He'll criticize Maslow's hierarchy of needs, argue for utilitarianism and against deontology, and then give his compelling case for communism being the perfect social structure for mankind.
-
Sabo will be the next Carl Marx
-
Oh I see so you're not taking any risks.
What do you think this is? A game for people to throw out terrible ideas just because they might be right? No wonder you dumbasses are so confused by me.
None of the people we currently have make any fucking sense.
Now explain to me why the hell I would pick one of them.
What kind of person picks a character whom they have valid reasons to doubt and whom they see no connecti- oh right, a dumbass. And if you want to take risks come back to me after you have a years old thread about the identity of the One Piece rather then a shitty few sentences in here about why Bluejam is Luffy's mom.
You're just sitting on the sidelines making snide remarks about other posters.
Good for you. You're a great poster.Actually, yeah. Not leaping into half cocked theories for no reason at all is the mark of a great poster. Can you guess what the opposite signifies?
-
Thread is as chaotic as always
