I have heard this game is rare, again, in EU. I also heard some retail venders are refusing to sell it, and/or didn't get a copy(s) of them. Some online venders are listing the EU version as July 22, for its release date.
One Piece - Gigant Battle (New DS game)

-
That's what i'm waiting till but my hopes are fairly low

@luffink: if you're still looking for Rayleigh, I know how to unlock him now:
You have to finish all the Side-missions, for the mission at the top right in Marineford.
The one where you have to beat Whitebeard with Akainu.
The side-missions aren't too hard though:
Beat him with Akainu
Beat him without using Special- or Secret Attacks
Finish him with a Secret-AttackAnd while we're at it, does anyone know where to unlock Krieg?
He's pretty much the last side-characters I'm missing besides Roger ^^/E: Nevermind, I know how do get Krieg now…
So for Roger I really have to finish every Condition for the Missions in Pirate Grand Prix?
-
So for Roger I really have to finish every Condition for the Missions in Pirate Grand Prix?
Not every condition. To get roger you have to do complete every mission just once. You don't even have to do the condition. DOing all of them get's you nightmare island. Then once you do every level there you unlock the final mission which get's you roger. In the JAP version i'm so close i have about 3 missions left. Oda is the only other support i need (i'm not good with jinbei)
-
I always LOATHED using Jinbe in the first game. He was just sooooooooooo slow.

First special-> Spam B and B+Up Diagonal. If you have it underleveled, train him on the second mission of Last Resort

Well, that's weird cause I've already finished the Boss Battle of Nightmare Island…
But I think I'm still missing some missions there, on the map selection screen it says 8/8 Missions are finished, but I gues there are more right? -
I've done it now so it's just roger left.

But I think I'm still missing some missions there, on the map selection screen it says 8/8 Missions are finished, but I gues there are more right?Yeah there are actually 14 missions on nightmare island. You unlock them by filling out all the conditions on the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 6th and boss mission. I think that's right. Then once you've done all of the new missions you unlock the final one.
-
Did anyone mention that the top level for characters is 50? Can you reboot the characters several times or just once?
-

You can do it many many times. Enough so you can every stat.
-
there isn't much point doing it more than twice though unless it's buggy who goes up by about nothing per level
-
Okay, I filled out all of the conditions on all of the Mission from Nightmare Island that are unlocked from the beginning. As you said, I didn't get a mission for finishing the 2nd and the 5th mission, but I also didn't get a new mission for finishing the conditions on the boss battle…
I really don't know what to do now, I already finished all of the conditions for 2 of the new missions, the only ones I haven't finished yet are the one where you fight 3 Whitebeards and the one where you have to survive 3 Kumas.
So before I go nuts by trying to keep 75% of the health at that Kuma mission, I wanna ask if I just didn't forget something else on my way to Roger?
-
I think its best to skip those missions where you need like 75% or 90% health, until your characters are extremely powerful, I played that mission for about an hour or so, then gave up. after a while, i came back and beat them.
-
Well, the thing is I already have quite a few Characters Lv 50 with maxed out health, so training isn't really an option ;D
Plus I'm not sure if I even have to beat this mission to get Roger, maybe I just missed something else.

I havn't gotten that far yet but maybe you have to do the whitebeard and kuma missions. I know you get roger on the 14th mission of nightmare island which you unlock by completing the 13th.

In the team builder, you can choose a special symbol for one of the support characters and only one. Does anyone know what this means? From some testing I can tell it makes that support character slower to be ''ready'' but I can't notice any difference in damage or anything. Thanks in advance guys. :)
-
Those are special attributes for each support, that you can unlock through the Grand Prix Mode. I have these:
- None (Grey)
- Swordman(red): Boosts HP of support characters. Automatically joins when gauge fills.
- Navigator(blue): Lets you summon the support character sooner, but lowers their HP.
- Marksman(green): makes the support character appear behind the main character.
- Coock(yellow): Restores GP when summoned, but can cause Hot status.
- Doctor(pink): Heals status effects, but slows down summoning speed.
- Musician(purple): Gives you random power-ups, but sometimes causes status effects
-
Thanks a lot! I appreciate it. Looks like I only have the purple one, LOL….

Uuuhm, sorry to be a bother, but I don't exactly want to read through 158 pages ^^;
I just noticed this game at my work place today (I had the pleasure of placing it in), so naturally I'm thinking of buying it now.
Is it (generally) regarded as a good game? I'm usually not a fan of fighting games, but then again I usually don't like games that follow the style of Unlimited Crusie 1&2 either, yet I still loved them to death. If you could just tell me what you like about the game, that'd be great! Thanks.

If you're looking for a hardcore fighting game with stuff like rushdowns, corner traps, invincible frames, etc. you'll be disappointed. It's more along the lines of Smash Bros or the other Jump games on DS. Very fun to pick up and play. Honestly, I didn't think I'd like this game and at first I didn't but I got REALLY into it. So, I'd say it's worth a shot. The main quest mode is really fun, and so is forming teams. (You can save teams that you use a lot, and even give them fun names.) The stages are also phenomenal and I get a big kick out of how they went out of their way to make them special.
There is a downside though. While the support roster is incredible, the playable roster is a bit disappointing. I can see how they had problems picking characters, but there's some really head scratching decisions here. First of all, not all of the Straw Hats are playable. Brook, Franky, and Robin are support characters only. The remaining characters are composed of a lot of the ''heavy hitters'' in the major factions. I don't know… personally, I don't consider it a deal breaker. Check it out is my vote.

Sorry to bother you again, but I actually can't figure out how to unlock more than the one. I have mostly everything else unlocked so I'm a bit confused… I tried google to no avail. :/ Do you remember what you did to unlock those?

Have you noticed how the reward for some stages is two stars with two exclamation marks? Most of them unlocks these "support modes". Others usually unlock gallery pieces

Thank you very much for your help!
I wasn't looking for a hardcore fighting game anyway, so I don't mind that. Heck, I'm a sucker for SSB, so… :D
I guess I'll reward myself with that game after my tests are over. -

I guess I'll reward myself with that game after my tests are over.I'd wait. They're bringing out Gigant Battle 2 in a few months. Get that one instead. 40 playable chars instead of 20, 100 supports instead of 50 or so. The playable roster really ruins the game because it's missing out on a third of the main cast, past main enemies like Lucci, Eneru and Moriah and other important ones (Smoker, Bon Kurei.)
Although if you love Marineford and can't get enough of it. Go for this.
-

A ha! There it is! I unlocked the yellow one! Thanks so much. :)
-
I´ve been unlocking all the support characters(I´m only missing 4 or 5), and so far (and surprisingly) the most useful to weaken enemies must be Ivankov. Keep the enemy close to you, summon Ivankov at full power and get out of his way. If he injects his Hormones on the enemy, he´ll lose almost all his health in a moment XD

Oh, thanks for telling me, I haven't heard of that one yet.
Will it be for the DS as well or the 3DS? Cause I'm not getting the 3DS (probably). -
It's for the regular DS.

Brutal!!! Great tip. Sengoku is also a goddamn beast. He takes a ton of hits before being eliminated(it's only happened a few times for me after 300+ summons) and his Buddha's palm is unblockable! It's been my method of choice for scoring support character KOs. The only downside to him is making sure the shockwave lands. With a bit of practice it's pretty easy.

I think i'm torturing myself in germany. Every game shop so far has had this game and not just 1 copy but quite a few. I've also seen databooks and the ones that are like actual books and copies of other manga that i want. And it's so annoying because it's not in english :( Stupid Viz, Stupid Bandai Namco :(

Attention UK folks. Zavvi has it advertised as dispatched within 3 days. Sounds hopeful.
http://www.zavvi.com/games/platforms/nintendo-ds/one-piece-gigant-battle/10355881.html
-
Wouldn't place any bets, it doesn't say dispatched with 3 days anymore, also Zavvi have been terrible with ordering in the past for me.
I'm pretty sure we won't see this in the UK =(
-
Yeah says within a month now.
Zavvi are pretty good for me. Although they do tend to advertise games as in stock when they aren't. (Especially during Mega Monday sales) I got Alice on the Mega Monday about a month ago. Said in-stock. Took them about 2 weeks to post it out.
-
Asda are also saying within a month now. I might order it and see what happens. If nothing i'll cancel again but it's worth a shoot
-
For God's sake. Why aren't they releasing it in english? That's the stupidest thing a game company has ever done.
-
They have released it in Egnlish.
And game companys have done plenty stupider things.
-
-
People have said the Spanish and Italian verson are in English.
-
I just bought it last Wednesday and it is in English (I'm Spanish).
This version is a bit different, though. You can't use the same passwords that work for Japanese version. -
@Ura:

This version is a bit different, though. You can't use the same passwords that work for Japanese version.Yeah, I mentioned that a few pages ago. Anyway, the normal "european" game is in english, except on GErmany and…France?, where they have them translated to their languages
-
Yes, the game is in French… but there is a lot of spelling mistakes !
Cheers
-
do any of you guys have a ROM for this game?
-
I've seen them not in english but personally no.
-
Ok, quick question: I already have all the characters´ supports and all the normal supports(the ones with a ? panel). The last two pages have one empty space. I assume one is for Roger, but is there anyone else I´m missing?
-
English rom is out. You'll have to find it via google by yourself though. I'm pretty sure the rules on this site prohibits me from posting it. However, the rom being out must mean they've released it somewhere…

Are you sure? There is no english scene release at the moment, only french and german.
Google couldn't help me with non-scene english rom either.Could you please give me some hints about how to find it (if it really exists already)?
-
He must be mistaken. Closest thing I can find to something that I can even remotely understand is the French ROM, but every ROM I find has the timer for every match set to 1 second as some pirating countermeasure. Shit sucks.
-
No, there's an English ROM out there now, dumped by someone at GBATemp.
-
Yeah… I got nothing. I suppose I'll just wait a little while longer.
-
Try typing 'dicastia' in on google… Along with 'one piece gigant' of course. I'm on the second map... definitely not mistaken.
