Jesus, were the numbers that bad they had to cancel Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur?
https://movieweb.com/marvel-cancels-moongirl-and-devil-dinosaur-after-2-seasons/?fbclid=IwY2xjawGFI5dleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHTa25MJCETBsSGkLjvWdZ2v1voMg86kHFZDLeZ1tG1uHS4-gVty8hPbctg_aem_GYkWvcCYkFPPkL_9kfj_wgIt's just the highest-rated Marvel show out of all of them.

As we seen highest rated doesn’t necessarily mean most/one of the most watched.
Though yet what was the viewership numbers that Disney was expecting.

30 years ago today Gargoyles premiered on television, arguably the greatest American animated tv series, and certainly my personal favorite.
Dark, funny, romantic, adventurous, Shakespearean, world hopping, educational, well-acted and animated with a great soundtrack, it's one of a kind. I've made lifelong friends from this series, written fanfic, gone to the convention, and even worked on the actual authorized comic book with the creator!
I actually didn't realize that today was the anniversary until the last minute (since the series premiered on a monday) so this pic is a little rushed, but I had to do something! Timedance Brooklyn, and his mate Katana, who I designed!
It's been far, far too long since I last watched the show... I think I'm due for a rewatch!

Man, I'm old . . .

Looks like Alfonso Cuaron is making a sweet little Christmas short film for Disney:

Always thought “How Far I’ll Go” was an underrated Disney song. Glad this acts as a well deserved sequel to this song. Like it a lot. I’ll not expecting much tbh from Moana 2, but still wanna support it.

Hrm. It's not Lin Manuel but it's good. I was worried when he wasn't coming back and after the horror story of the music in Wish, but yeah, that's pretty good.
I doubt we get anything as out of the blue and crazy love/hate as Shiny though.
(I loved Shiny for the record. My wife hated it.)
-
@Robby the Wish songs were bad, but recall when watching Little Mermaid was getting kinda tired of Lin Manuel’s style too. Could just be overexposure. Though it could’ve just been the new song choices in that particular film bugged me. Halle Berry’s new song was done when she was supposed to be silent (and she was as Ariel, but inner monologue singing still bugged me). Eric’s song felt superfluous. I’ll admit The Scuttlebutt was annoying entrancing like the main song in Vivo.
-
Lin didn't compose any of those songs though, he just did the lyrics. Alan Menken did the composing. And he very clearly wrote towards Menken's sensibilities, most of Lin's rhythm touchstones and rhymes just weren't in there.
And even though they had a long timetable on it, those songs were very clearly done in a hurry. There were very specific instructions attached to them about where in the movie they HAD to insert a new song as oscar bait, rather than anything organic, and they just put Lin on it so they could say "from the Moana guy"
Lin has had misses sure, but there is no way he arrived at "Scuttlebutt" on his own terms. That's something that was crapped out in half an hour so Akwafina would have a song.
They would have had him do his own versions on the soundtrack and included demos to push it if he'd really had a ton of involvement like they did on Moana and Encanto.

Shiny is awesome. It's not the melodic wonder that you get from Renaissance Disney, but it's fun as heck.

Again, wanna give this a fair shot. Think it being an original story instead of just The Lion King plus them working on bettering the animal expressions will help the film greatly. Though curious how it’ll fare given it’s an OG story and not just a remake, but don’t think the backlash is as big as the internet has made it out to be, so still expecting big numbers from this film.

The first movie made like 1.7 billion dollars, so even a significant drop is still going to be a mega success.
